Joseph Miuccio spends his life at 35,000 feet, and somehow still logs the training hours for Leadville, Ironman, and marathon racing. Joey has run a 2:56 marathon, a 4:45 half ironman, and he's a Leadville 100 finisher. Now, he can add Ironman finisher to his resume, as he recently completed the Ironman Arizona in 9:46:37, an extremely impressive sub 10 hour feat coming in 136 overall in a field of over 1,200 racers. Online, he has an impressive following of over 455,000 on Instagram where he documents his racing, lifestyle, and career as a flight instructor and commercial pilot. He also offers 1-on-1 fitness coaching via his online profile. He's polished, competitive, and backs it up with impressive results in multiple domains. Growing up, sports were a key component in his fitness journey. He grew up playing every sport imaginable: baseball, soccer, basketball, football, wrestling, surfing and even bowling. When in high school, he focused on wrestling, which likely built in his work ethic for the future.He has shown what's possible while holding down a demanding career, exploring ultras, and going sub-10 in an Ironman. Joseph Scott Morgan was the Senior Investigator for the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office in Atlanta, Georgia for fourteen years, managing a staff of 11 medicolegal death investigators while maintaining a personal caseload of 200-300 deaths per year. Prior to his tenure at FCMEO, Joseph was a Forensic Investigator with the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office in New Orleans, LA for six years. In addition to his death investigative duties, Morgan served as an autopsy assistant, conducting more than 7000 autopsies over his two decades in two of the south's most beautiful and violent cities. Morgan has recently completed research involving the largest national study of U.S. coroners ever conducted-the initial findings of which he was invited to present at the 2011 meeting of the American Association of Behavioral and Social Sciences. In 1999 Joseph earned the status of Board Registered Diplomate of the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators-one of the first nationally to be awarded that honor. Along with this professional achievement, Joseph holds a Master of Forensic Sciences degree from National University in LaJolla, CA. Since beginning his current tenure as an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Forensics at North Georgia College and State University, Morgan has been instrumental in establishing the first concentration in Investigative Forensics for the University System of Georgia. I just HAD to hit record because my mind was in major FLOW mode and the lessons were downloading!  This episode is all about MINDSET — how to stay calm in chaos, find clarity in the climb, and keep your faith strong even when life gets turbulent. Because just like flying, life doesn't always give you smooth air. But you can always control your response, your attitude, and your altitude.  Here's What You'll Learn in Episode 453: 1. You Can't Control the Turbulence — But You CAN Control Your Response. Life's gonna shake you. Business dips, plans get flipped, curveballs come outta nowhere. But high performers? They don't panic — we breathe, we stay calm, and we trust our training. I share exactly what happened on my flight this past week and how to navigate life's storms with poise, peace, and purpose. 2. High Altitude = High Awareness. When you rise above the weeds, you see the big picture. Up here, the clarity is unreal. I talk about how to "get above the noise" so you can see your mission, your purpose, and your life from a higher perspective — because clarity doesn't come in chaos; it comes in stillness. And you can't see the vision when you're stuck on the runway. 3. Pre-Flight Rituals = Peak Performance Habits. Every pilot has a pre-flight checklist — and you need one too. It's powerful to have some built-in, regular time to write, think, dream, and ultimately do. That's why I'm also firing off 10 powerful questions to get you dreaming again — your Big 5 for Life, your Big 5 for 2026, and what God is whispering in this season. Don't drift. Don't settle. And now is a GREAT time of the year to start 'dreaming.' 5. Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude. You cannot fly high if you're surrounded by people who live low. Protect your energy. Fuel your mind with gratitude and growth. Surround yourself with people who elevate, inspire, and challenge you. Because the higher you go, the thinner the air — and the fewer the distractions.
