One of the most invigorating explorations of the word of God.
The coronavirus outbreak has now spread to 49 states. The virus has been reported in more than 2,700 people, and at least 58 patients have died. The only state not reporting cases is West Virginia. North Carolina’s governor signed executive order closing schools for two weeks, making assemblies of over 100 illegal for 30 days, really changing how we worship as Church community.
Did the coronavirus shutdown the church?
Pastor Barrett delivers a powerful message about Jesus, Peter, and walking on water. He builds a case for living empowered lives free of fear, filled with courage, and built upon Great Faith. You have to hear it.
There are times when the most profound direction from God is capture in a simple word . . . Go!
When The ELC was worshipping in Berewick Elementary God told me we would expand our ministry in a second location. This location would inform the community that we are committed to service and here to stay. By faith and obedience we moved into our Ayrsley location. Trust, I did not want to hold worship services in Ayrsley, but I submitted to the will of God. By faith I asked God for a new worship center where we could worship freely without the challenges of packing and unpacking a mobile trailer. We yearned for a place where I focus would be on worship, sanctuary filled with miracles, and where we could grow a community of believers committed to expanding the Kingdom of God through great faith. God saw our faith and blessed us with our new worship center at Kennedy Middle School. We will worship next Sunday, February 2nd, in our new worship center. We will launch The “new” ELC 3.0 Sunday, April 5, 2020 with an awesome Grand Opening.
Jesus healed the paralysed man not only to show others that He was Immanuel, to teach people how to prophesy, and to encourage the people. In 2020, God wants to awe people by blessing you with a miracle when you display great faith. We have authority to prophesy, teach, and do miracles under the anointing of God, because he gave man this authority.
Matthew 9:1-8 NIV ~ Jesus Forgives and Heals a -_Paralyzed Man _Jesus witness their faith _Jesus then forgave their sins _Leaders/teachers hated on him (called Him a liar) _Jesus had faith in Himself (God in Him) by _Healed paralyzed man _Both Jesus and man believed they had authority to heal and be healed, respectively
Keep in mind these facts: One. You are engaged in an understating of major importance to you. To be sure of success, you must have plans which are faultless. Two. You must have the advantage of the experience, education, native ability and imagination of other minds. This is in harmony with the methods followed by every person who has accumulated a great fortune.
There is a difference between wishing for something and being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish. Open-mindedness is essential for belief. Closed minds do not inspire faith, courage, and belief. Faith is the starting point of all accumulation of blessings.

In the book, Multiplication, Author Tommy Barnett writes, “A New Testament Church is not an evangelistic church - - a new testament church is a soul-winning church. A soul-winning church is one in which the members come to be strengthened and edified so that they may go out and preach the gospel to a dying world.” He states, “It is not my job as a preacher to win souls. It is my job as a Christian to win souls. As a pastor, I am to work on my congregation to get them in shape to go out and minister the good news of salvation to the world. The pastor must reproduce and multiply himself in each person sent out from the church. Thus, Christians go into the world to witness to their unsaved friends, neighbors, and co-workers.”
Welcome to the third and final week of our series. The Art of Neighboring, as our church is participating with approximately 100 churches in the greater Charlotte area, reaching over 60,000 people in those churches in out city with a unified message of THE central teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ . . . to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves. The series is all about helping the Big “C” in our city come together to intentionally live out the Greatest Commandment in a new and fresh way. Our goal is that each of us would be inspired and equipped to become neighborhood catalysts that move our neighbors from stranger to acquaintance to relationship.
MAKE THE MAIN THING . . . THE MAIN THING! The biggest obstacle to taking the great commandment seriously is TIME. When we say, I don’t have time to get to know my neighbor. What we are really saying is “I don’t consider getting to know my neighbor as important as everything else that is.” Pastor Barrett puts things in order.
In a moment of desperation, she thought if could just TOUCH HIM. Maybe if she could quietly make her way through the crowd and touch (pause) yes if she could just touch the hem of his garment then she might be healed.
We need one another to carry out the mission of God.
Our world does not simply need people who know more facts about God, but rather people who are falling deeper in love with God is.
Living life on mission should be driven not out of guilty obligation but rather out of embracing the identity and purpose given to us in Christ.”
The Gospel allows us to recover and pursue God's design for our lives and help others do the same.
God has a design for our lives, but we depart from His design and end up in brokenness. Last week we saw how God has led us with a mission to make disciples of all nations. We are to tell them the good news that God made a way for them to live the way they were designed to live. We are learning a relational, conversational way to bring them the help they need through the gospel of Jesus.
First of three messages in the "LIFE ON MISSION" Sermon Series.
Andrew and John became Jesus’ first disciples. The news Andrew heard was too good to keep to himself, so he went and found the one person in the world he most loved, whom he most wanted to know Jesus, and led him to Christ.
