Do You Need Great Faith To Move A Mountain?
The Basics of Great Faith Luke 7:1-10 Dr. Stuart Bond May 24, 2026
This is the 4th sermon in the "Life-Changing Encounters With Jesus" sermon series. This sermon was preached on Memorial Day Weekend. 5.24.26.
There are only two people Jesus pointed to in the gospels about whom he said they had "great faith". What did these two people have in common? And more importantly. What does this have to do with us today? In this teaching we unpack the problem of faith and how it has been misunderstood for the last 500 years and how this misunderstanding is the dominant frame today. When we understand what Jesus actually meant by "great faith" we can have a totally different conversation about religion, deconstruction and even atheism.
Where does the gift of great faith come from? How can we receive our faith? Can anyone have great faith? We will look at what God's Word says about great faith. To listen to more podcasts and information on books: davidcfriendauthor.comTo listen to podcasts: cpnshows.com
To accomplish your entrepreneurial calling, you are going to need great faith. However, most of us have little to no Faith, thus we are not seeing results. One of the main reasons our faith is so weak is because we do not understand authority. God has placed various human relationships in our lives to teach us authority; however, Satan and modern culture are fighting hard to create a generation of believers who rebel against authority in all forms. Thus, we are in danger of significantly weakening our faith because we don't understand authority through our rejection of authority. __________ Matthew 17:19-20 KJV, Matthew 17:20 AMPC, Matthew 8:5-10, 13 KJV, Exodus 20:12 KJV, Hebrews 13:17 KJV, Ephesians 5:21-24 KJV, Ephesians 6:5 KJV, 1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV, Romans 13:1-2 NLT, Galatians 6:7 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com Leave a Comment: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/comments __________

Bottom line: Great faith is not trusting God to do what you want; it's trusting God to do what is right.

Faith may start small, but when it is genuine, it produces powerful results. In this message, we look at examples where simple yet confident trust in God led to extraordinary outcomes. Whether it was believing for the impossible or trusting in authority without needing proof, these moments show that faith doesn't have to be loud—it just has to be real. You'll be challenged to move beyond doubt and step into a deeper level of trust. When faith is put into action, it begins to shift what once seemed immovable. No matter how small it may feel, when it is placed in God, it carries the power to bring real change.
Thadd teaches on Matthew 15:21-28 and Jesus' response to the Canaanite woman and her great faith.
Pastor Kevin teaches verse-by-verse through Luke 7:1–19, focusing on the faith of the Roman centurion and the compassion of Jesus for a grieving widow in the town of Nain. In this Bible teaching, he explains how the centurion's understanding of authority and humility led him to trust that Jesus could heal his servant simply by speaking a word, a faith that caused Jesus to marvel. The message also highlights how the centurion used his authority to serve others and how his character and care for the Jewish people pointed them toward Jesus. The passage then turns to Jesus' compassion as He encounters a widow mourning her only son and raises the young man from the dead. Through these accounts in the Gospel of Luke, Pastor Kevin reflects on faith, the authority of Christ, and the compassion of Jesus toward those who suffer.

What kind of faith actually moves the heart of God?In this message, we contrast empty religious tradition with the bold, persistent faith of a woman who refused to give up. As we walk through Mark 7, we're reminded that real faith hears about Jesus, comes to Him, asks specifically, refuses to quit, worships sincerely, and takes Him at His Word.
Hannah, a woman without children, was constantly taunted by her husband's second wife. In that situation, she began to pray and resolved that, if God gave her a son, she would dedicate him to work for God for his whole life.Such was the pious mother of Samuel the prophet, who herself, as we shall discover in chapter 2, was a prophetess.
What does great faith actually look like—and how do we make room for it in our lives? In this message from Matthew 15, Jesus highlights a faith that refuses to quit, worships while waiting, and believes God can do the impossible. Through the powerful story of the Canaanite woman, we see that great faith isn't about background, perfection, or religious status—it's about humility, persistence, and trust in Jesus. As part of the REACH series, this message connects personal faith with God's heart to reach people. Jesus uses this encounter not only to heal a daughter, but to shape His disciples, revealing that sincerity of heart matters more than tradition, and that God's mercy extends far beyond boundaries people create. You'll discover five marks of great faith: bringing every need to Jesus, speaking words of faith, refusing to give up, worshiping in the waiting, and believing in a miracle-working God. Even when heaven seems silent, Jesus is still working—drawing out the faith He knows is already in you. If you've been praying, waiting, or wrestling with doubt, this message is an invitation to stretch your faith, trust God's timing, and make room for the kind of faith that captures Jesus' attention. His delay is not denial. Make room for great faith.
In this episode, Jesus encounters a centurion who has faith that what Jesus says will be accomplished!

In this week's message, we turn to Luke 7 and the remarkable account of a Roman Centurion whose faith caused Jesus Himself to marvel. While the Jewish elders praised the man's accomplishments and argued for his worthiness, the Centurion felt deeply unworthy—yet fully confident in Christ's authority. His request was simple: “Just speak the word, … Continue reading "An Example of Great Faith"
Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Today's shout-out goes to Dave Hassall from Palmetto, FL. Your commitment through Project23 helps deliver God's Word daily with clarity and conviction. This one's for you. Our text today is Judges 13:21-23 The angel of the Lord appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of the Lord. And Manoah said to his wife, "We shall surely die, for we have seen God." But his wife said to him, "If the Lord had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering at our hands, or shown us all these things, or now announced to us such things as these." — Judges 13:21-23 When the angel of the Lord vanished in the flame, Manoah panicked. "We're going to die—we've seen God!" That was his gut reaction: fear. But his wife had a different perspective. She saw the signs of God's grace—He accepted their offering, revealed His plan, and promised them a son. She reasoned, "If God meant to kill us, He wouldn't have done any of that." Two responses. One moment. Fear looked at the problem. Faith looked at the promises. This is our daily battle. Fear exaggerates. Faith steadies. Fear says, "This is the end." Faith says, "God isn't done yet." Fear locks onto circumstances. Faith holds onto God's character. We all have Manoah moments—panic at the unknown. A bad diagnosis. A financial setback. A broken relationship. Fear screams louder than faith. But like Manoah's wife, we need to pause and reflect on what we know to be true. God has already shown us His grace. He's already proven His faithfulness. He's already made His promises. Fear doesn't fit the facts. Don't let fear have the loudest voice in your life. Drown it out with faith in God's promises. Fear may shake you, but faith will steady you. ASK THIS: What fear is gripping me right now? What promises of God directly answer that fear? How can I rehearse God's past faithfulness when panic rises? DO THIS: When fear shows up today, don't stay silent. Speak God's truth out loud. Write down one promise from Scripture and put it where you'll see it—your desk, dashboard, or phone lock screen. Let faith talk back to fear. PRAY THIS: Lord, fear often feels louder than faith. Quiet my panic with Your promises. Remind me of what You've done and give me faith to trust what You will do. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Promises."
You will learn how to have a greater faith and your faith will be lifted!
