What kind of faith actually moves the heart of God?In this message, we contrast empty religious tradition with the bold, persistent faith of a woman who refused to give up. As we walk through Mark 7, we're reminded that real faith hears about Jesus, comes to Him, asks specifically, refuses to quit, worships sincerely, and takes Him at His Word.
Morning Sermon from 15 February
Hannah, a woman without children, was constantly taunted by her husband's second wife. In that situation, she began to pray and resolved that, if God gave her a son, she would dedicate him to work for God for his whole life.Such was the pious mother of Samuel the prophet, who herself, as we shall discover in chapter 2, was a prophetess.
What does great faith actually look like—and how do we make room for it in our lives? In this message from Matthew 15, Jesus highlights a faith that refuses to quit, worships while waiting, and believes God can do the impossible. Through the powerful story of the Canaanite woman, we see that great faith isn't about background, perfection, or religious status—it's about humility, persistence, and trust in Jesus. As part of the REACH series, this message connects personal faith with God's heart to reach people. Jesus uses this encounter not only to heal a daughter, but to shape His disciples, revealing that sincerity of heart matters more than tradition, and that God's mercy extends far beyond boundaries people create. You'll discover five marks of great faith: bringing every need to Jesus, speaking words of faith, refusing to give up, worshiping in the waiting, and believing in a miracle-working God. Even when heaven seems silent, Jesus is still working—drawing out the faith He knows is already in you. If you've been praying, waiting, or wrestling with doubt, this message is an invitation to stretch your faith, trust God's timing, and make room for the kind of faith that captures Jesus' attention. His delay is not denial. Make room for great faith.
Guest speaker David White continues the "Kingdom Now" series in Matthew 8, showing that wherever God's kingdom arrives, chaos is confronted—but comfort is challenged. He examines two powerful encounters: Jesus calming a violent storm on the Sea of Galilee, where panicked disciples question His care despite His presence, and Jesus casting demons from two violent men into a herd of pigs in Gentile territory. The restored men return to community, but the townspeople—upset by the economic loss—beg Jesus to leave, preferring familiar chaos to costly change.David stresses Jesus' absolute authority over external storms and internal oppression, yet following Him requires denying self and embracing discomfort rather than seeking ease. He contrasts “Couch Jesus” (comfort-focused) with “Coach Jesus” (growth-focused), urging the dangerous prayer: “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”—inviting God to confront chaos in marriages, families, finances, and mental health, while trusting Him through the inevitable challenges.Core truth: The kingdom is now—actively confronting chaos and challenging comfort—because Jesus loves us too much to leave us unchanged.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 8:00am, 9:30am & 11:00am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Salt and Light Covenant Church in Tallahassee, FL with Pastor Omar Ellison
In this episode, Pastor Omar Ellison dives deep into Isaiah 1 and 1 Peter 5 to explain why many believers struggle to see the "best of the land" in their daily lives. He challenges the notion that everything is "up to God," explaining that God has placed authority back into our hands through our ability to choose. If we are willing and obedient, we feast like kings; if we rebel, we are devoured by the very thoughts we refuse to surrender. -- Pastor Omar explains that rebellion isn't just outward defiance; it is often found in the "dragging of feet" or obeying with a heart full of malice. -- The mind is identified as the primary place of devouring, where wrong thinking leads to a "reprobate mind" that accepts lies as reality. -- A deep dive into 1 Peter 5:7 reveals that "care" is defined as the "suffering of the mind," and we are commanded to cast that suffering onto God. -- The transcript identifies the two main reasons people fail to submit: Pride (both the arrogant and the "shy" varieties) and Fear. -- Pastor Omar uses the story of the Centurion to show that the only things that cause Jesus to "marvel" are Great Faith and Great Unbelief. -- Practical advice is given on "spiritual hygiene," such as feeding your spirit the Word of God while you sleep rather than letting the world influence your subconscious through the television. 5. Weekly Kingdom Outlook Episode 220-What is great faith? We frequently perceive faith as being exceptional only when we engage in fervent prayers for large matters. However, true faith is characterized by its quality, not its quantity.
In this week's message, we turn to Luke 7 and the remarkable account of a Roman Centurion whose faith caused Jesus Himself to marvel. While the Jewish elders praised the man's accomplishments and argued for his worthiness, the Centurion felt deeply unworthy—yet fully confident in Christ's authority. His request was simple: “Just speak the word, … Continue reading "An Example of Great Faith"
Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Today's shout-out goes to Dave Hassall from Palmetto, FL. Your commitment through Project23 helps deliver God's Word daily with clarity and conviction. This one's for you. Our text today is Judges 13:21-23 The angel of the Lord appeared no more to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the angel of the Lord. And Manoah said to his wife, "We shall surely die, for we have seen God." But his wife said to him, "If the Lord had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering at our hands, or shown us all these things, or now announced to us such things as these." — Judges 13:21-23 When the angel of the Lord vanished in the flame, Manoah panicked. "We're going to die—we've seen God!" That was his gut reaction: fear. But his wife had a different perspective. She saw the signs of God's grace—He accepted their offering, revealed His plan, and promised them a son. She reasoned, "If God meant to kill us, He wouldn't have done any of that." Two responses. One moment. Fear looked at the problem. Faith looked at the promises. This is our daily battle. Fear exaggerates. Faith steadies. Fear says, "This is the end." Faith says, "God isn't done yet." Fear locks onto circumstances. Faith holds onto God's character. We all have Manoah moments—panic at the unknown. A bad diagnosis. A financial setback. A broken relationship. Fear screams louder than faith. But like Manoah's wife, we need to pause and reflect on what we know to be true. God has already shown us His grace. He's already proven His faithfulness. He's already made His promises. Fear doesn't fit the facts. Don't let fear have the loudest voice in your life. Drown it out with faith in God's promises. Fear may shake you, but faith will steady you. ASK THIS: What fear is gripping me right now? What promises of God directly answer that fear? How can I rehearse God's past faithfulness when panic rises? DO THIS: When fear shows up today, don't stay silent. Speak God's truth out loud. Write down one promise from Scripture and put it where you'll see it—your desk, dashboard, or phone lock screen. Let faith talk back to fear. PRAY THIS: Lord, fear often feels louder than faith. Quiet my panic with Your promises. Remind me of what You've done and give me faith to trust what You will do. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Promises."
You will learn how to have a greater faith and your faith will be lifted!
Today we will be taking a look at the book of Matthew (SUNDAY 11/09/25) Today's Sermon will look at Matthew 15:21-28 "What does great faith look like?"
Everyone struggles to have faith. This week the Reverend Kahlil Carmichael shows us how faith comes and grows by hearing God's Word. We begin in Matthew 5 and Romans 10 with the message, “The Promise of Following Jesus is Great Faith.”Live Well, your spiritual family, gathers every Sunday at 11 a.m. at 51 Church Street, Robbinsville, Windsor, NJ. It is the single greatest statement of faith in the entire Bible, in my humble opinion.Daniel 3:17-18, "If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”Three young men refuse to bow to the golden graven image of the king, and are about to be thrown into the fiery furnace. They boldly proclaim their firm belief that God will deliver them through that fire - BUT IF NOT, they still will not capitulate to the culture's pressure to bow to an idol! And, as the scene unfolds, they experience "another in the fire," the Son of Man, a Christophany in the Old Testament, there in the fire with them. This is just one of the remarkable examples we explore today as we conclude this life-changing chapter in Hebrews 11 and bid farewell to a good friend, our series "Great Faith in Our Great God."(RAR2025EP45)
Moments of great faith stand in opposition to the temptation to give in to doubt and natural thinking. Great faith receives God's word, trusts His power, and waits for HIs intervention!
Great steps of faith are based on God's Word, and focused on obedience, not achievement. They take us out of our comfort zones and align us with kingdom purpose. God desires for us to have great faith!
Rev. Kenneth Bomberger gives today's prayerful thought based on the day's Scripture readings. Begin your morning in word and prayer with Rev. God desires us to have great faith in a great God, and to see Him do great things in our lives! We are called to be people of faith. Great faith is shown in great requests, and they are confident and rooted in who God is.
