What if the key to healing chronic pain isn't fixing your symptoms, but releasing the emotions trapped in your body? When our nervous systems get stuck in protection mode due to stress, trauma, or childhood experiences, physical symptoms often follow—creating a feedback loop that's difficult to break. Most of us respond to difficult emotions in ways that keep us stuck. Some disconnect completely, living "neck up" in a state of perpetual analysis (alexithymia). Others view emotions as inherently dangerous, having learned from experiences where emotions seemed overwhelming or unsafe. Many consciously avoid emotions through distraction, never allowing themselves to fully process what's happening in their bodies.Breaking this cycle requires what we call "the purge"—letting yourself fully experience and release emotional energy. This isn't always pretty. It might involve crying, shaking, or journaling raw truths. But when we allow this natural process instead of intellectualizing or ignoring our feelings, we help our nervous system regulate and begin healing. The process starts with recognizing emotions as bodily sensations. Sadness isn't just a concept—it's hollowness in your chest or a pit in your stomach. By approaching these sensations with curiosity rather than resistance, and creating safety through techniques like breathwork and self-compassion, we can release what's been trapped. This approach combines elements from pain reprocessing therapy, somatic experiencing, emotional awareness and expression therapy, and polyvagal theory. When practiced consistently, it creates a positive feedback loop—reducing resistance, releasing emotional energy, regulating your nervous system, and diminishing pain.Ready to transform your relationship with emotions and chronic symptoms? Try our free 20-minute somatic practice for releasing emotions on YouTube, or explore our comprehensive digital course "The Somatic Safety Method" with over 60 specialized practices. Islamic psychology, according to her, is a field that has been overlooked, overshadowed by a modernity that fails to recognize human beings as holistic living souls. Welcome to our Reveal podcast,Today we're diving into a big, beautiful question—why does God heal? What'sFirst off, healing isn't just something God does—it's part of who He is. From the Old Testament to the New, God reveals Himself as Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. Healing reflects His character: compassionate, restorative, and deeply invested in human wholeness—body, soul, and spirit. But let's be clear—it's not just about fixing a problem. When Jesus healed the blind, the lame, the leper, or even raised the dead, He was revealing the kingdom of God breaking into a broken world. Healing is a signpost. It points us to something greater, the restoration of all things. To support this ministry and help us continue our God-given mission, click here:Subscribe to our channel for the latest sermons:https://www.youtube.com/@revealvineyardLearn more about Vineyard Church Reveal Campus:https://www.revealvineyard.com/Follow us on social media!Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/vineyardrevealcampus Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/RevealVineyard
Welcome to our Reveal podcast,Today's sermon is one that touches every life at some point, God and Healing. More specifically, why does God heal? It's a question rooted in both longing and mystery. Whether we're facing physical sickness, emotional wounds, or spiritual brokenness, something in us cries out for restoration. And the good news? The Bible tells us that healing is part of God's nature, He doesn't just do healing, He is the Healer. Exodus 15:26 calls Him Jehovah Rapha, 'the Lord who heals you.'To support this ministry and help us continue our God-given mission, click here:Subscribe to our channel for the latest sermons:https://www.youtube.com/@revealvineyardLearn more about Vineyard Church Reveal Campus:https://www.revealvineyard.com/Follow us on social media!Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/vineyardrevealcampus Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/RevealVineyard

Different childhoods. Different wounds. One shared commitment: to raise boys who feel seen, safe, and strong. Some of us were raised on discipline. Others in silence. Some were praised only when we performed—others not at all. But no matter what we inherited, we all face the same question when we become fathers: Will I repeat what I came from, or will I build something new? In today's episode, I sit down with Jenna and Brad Ballard—two parents building something they didn't fully have growing up: a family grounded in presence, emotional safety, and truth. Brad and Jenna are the co-founders of Ascension Leadership Academy (ALA), where they help people break through limiting beliefs and lead with emotional intelligence and purpose. Their upbringings were different—one shaped by performance and pressure, the other by steadiness and structure. But what unites them now is a shared commitment to raising sons who feel seen, celebrated, and secure. This isn't a conversation about parenting hacks or surface-level advice. It's about the quiet patterns we carry from childhood. The ones we repeat without realizing. The ones we choose to break. And the ones we intentionally rebuild—through rituals, reflection, and relentless love.

In this episode, I sit down with Brenna Blain for one of the most honest conversations I've had on the podcast. We talk about what it really looks like to follow Jesus while still battling mental illness, trauma, and temptation. Brenna shares her powerful story from growing up in church as a pastor's kid, abuse, same-sex attraction, and deep seasons of depression. We talk about what it means to suffer well, how motherhood can actually disciple us, and why God's goodness doesn't always look like the comfort we expected - yet we hold fast to the promise that God heals always, even if it's not on this side of eternity. If you've ever asked, “Can I still love Jesus and feel this broken?” this episode is for you.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Send us a textWhat does authentic leadership look like in high-stress healthcare environments? Dr. Devita Price, Director of Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital, reveals the powerful intersection of personal resilience and professional excellence in this candid conversation.Few healthcare leaders bring the unique perspective Dr. Price offers. With experience spanning maternal health, child hospice, and behavioral health, she's developed a leadership philosophy grounded in compassion and cultural humility. But what truly sets her apart is how she's transformed personal challenges into leadership strengths. As a mother of eight, foster parent, domestic violence survivor, and healthcare executive, Dr. Price embodies the resilience she cultivates in her teams.Throughout our discussion, Dr. Price shares practical wisdom on creating psychological safety in high-stress environments through open communication and modeling vulnerability. She addresses critical equity gaps in mental healthcare, particularly in maternal mental health, and emphasizes the importance of listening to underserved communities. Her insights on the evolving skill set needed for Chief Nursing Officers—from strategic agility to emotional intelligence—offer valuable guidance for healthcare leaders navigating today's complex landscape.Perhaps most inspiring is Dr. Price's commitment to authenticity. Currently writing a book about her journey, she views sharing her story as both personal therapy and a way to destigmatize struggles others face. Her message to fellow healthcare leaders resonates deeply: lead with purpose, stay humble, and remember that your impact extends beyond clinical outcomes to building a legacy rooted in compassion, equity, and resilience.Connect with Dr. Devita Price on LinkedIn or email her at Davida.Price@JHSMiami.org, and discover more episodes of the Follow Brand Podcast at 5StarBDM.com.Thanks for tuning in to this episode of Follow The Brand! In this episode, we're going to explore the power of being fully present with the painful emotions we experience and how, exactly, to do this (as well as how not to do it). This topic might seem like an oddly placed one in the midst of a season of episodes that's intended to be geared towards conscious relationships. And yet, the truth is that emotional opposites are intimately entangled. Painful emotions and pleasurable emotions are, in essence, two sides of the same dualistic coin. And that's why this episode is included here in the midst of a season about conscious relationships, love, connection, etc. Because to love more consciously we must bring more consciousness to all of our feeling experiences—the painful ones included.ResourcesFocusing ResourcesFocusing Therapy: The Classic Six StepsFocusing-Oriented Therapy Instructions (PDF guide)Focusing-Oriented Therapy One: Learning How the Body Speaks and Listening so it Heals (workshop)Podcast EpisodesEp. 92: Beyond Victimhood—Reclaiming and revealing your own inner HeroEp. 88: Healing Beyond Shame: How shame sustains shadow repression + how to disintegrate 'Shamewalls'Ep. 32: Spiritual Bypassing and the Fragmented SelfEp. 10: Triggered: Using emotional triggers as a roadmap to healingReclamation Radio by Dr. Kelly Brogan: Ep. 100—How to Stop Repeating Toxic Relationship PatternsBooksHow to Be Loving* by Daniella LaPorteHow to Do the Work* by Dr. Nicole LePeraThe Surrender Experiment* by Michael A. In this episode of Vitality Made Simple, Dr. Bill Rawls joins us to share his personal health crisis that began with chronic fatigue, disrupted sleep, and mysterious symptoms that stumped the traditional medical system. Eventually diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease, he realized that the real culprit wasn't just microbes—it was cellular dysfunction. His story reveals how chronic stress, poor diet, environmental toxins, and disrupted sleep create the perfect storm for dormant microbes to reactivate and wreak havoc on the body.Through years of research and recovery, Dr. Rawls embraced herbal medicine and began seeing a profound difference in his and his patients' lives. He explains why antibiotics often fall short in chronic Lyme treatment, how herbs support cellular health and immunity, and how healing must be terrain-focused rather than diagnosis-driven. This episode is packed with hope and practical insights for anyone struggling with Lyme, autoimmune issues, or chronic conditions that resist conventional treatments.Visit my website DrDebbieOzment.com for valuable free downloads.
