Two friendly Saints fans talking Saints Football, the NBA, and any other topics they feel like arguing about
Brian goes over each of the remaining position groups on the roster giving his impression and expectations for them and addressing the larger issue of what it will take from each group and from the team as a whole to have a chance to still compete this year.
Now that the draft and the initial wave of Undrafted Free Agent signings have concluded its time to take a look at the Saints roster. In this mini-series I'll be looking at each group as a stand alone part of the roster and giving my thoughts on both the players as well as the overall competency, quality, and expectations for that group.
The Saints have made some tough decisions and also some....interesting ones in building out their roster for the 2021 season. I have made some assumptions about what the team is trying to accomplish this year, how I think they'll do it, and my own theory on the approach they will take to give Jameis Winston (the presumed starter) the best opportunity to succeed.
Brian goes over his first impressions of the New Orleans Saints first 3 draft picks in 2021 as well as how he goes about deciding whether he likes the pick or not.
Brian and Chris get together to discuss what (if any) holes are left on one of the the most talented teams in the league, they discuss how the rest of the NFC South matches up against the Saints, and Brian takes a massive L related to knowing a certain teams roster.
Brian and Chris spend the better part of an hour talking about the intriguing prospects of the Pelicans roster, their doubts about Alvin Gentry's ability to get the most out of it, and how they expect a highly competitive series with the lakers (assuming the Pels get in)
20 minutes of Brian giving his opinion on Drew's terrible interview on yahoo finance, WHY its so problematic, the issue around the flag/kneeling debate, and whether he thinks Drew can salvage this.
Brian and Chris sit down to go over the Saints draft with their opinions on how they feel about the Saints draft picks as well as what factors likely led to those players being picked. The guys also discuss the Pelicans rebuild and how the approach seems very similar to the Saints post 2017 Finally we sitdown to address the Real World events going on in America right now and give our perspectives on them. This starts at the 1:26:00 mark, and if you don't want to listen you can end this week's episode there.
Brian and Chris get together to review the Saints free agent moves, how we feel about them and why, and we kick the show off by looking at the petty majesty that is Michael Thomas's twitter and why it works for him.
The guys get together to discuss the Saints dominant victory over the Tampa Bay Bucs, the emergence of Marcus Davenport as an impact player, Teddy's improved play, and why Marshon Lattimore is the most important player for the defense.
immediate reaction to the Saints 12-10 win over the cowgirls and the zebras. 3-1 Baby!
Immediate postgame reaction show reviewing the incredible play of Alvin Kamara, and why the Saints victory over the Seahawks wasn't close to the final score and that matters.
making our predictions for the Saints week 2 matchup vs the (fraudulent) NFC champs the Rams
The guys see what they got right (and wrong) in the pregame show, review the Saints nailbiter of a win, and discuss what they liked, what was concerning, and what needs more time. Highlights include why the Saints players left Dennis Allen out to dry at times, what was the most positive sign for the offense, and is it already time to start talking about Davenports starting role.
Brian gives you his instant reactions to the Saints cardiac inducing win over the Houston Texans 28-27 to end the streak of game 1 losses since 2013.
the guys get together to start a new weekly tradition where we look at the upcoming matchup and make our predictions. Up first is the MNF game against the Texans.
Another day, another bonus show previewing the Saints 2019 Season. This time Brian is joined by Kevin Washington of the Saints Talk podcast and they get together to talk about the Saints 2019 defense, the key players, the position units, and what their keys to success will be (as well as taking a look at what 'success' really means).
Brian sits down with Ian Howard from the Saints Talk podcast for a bonus episode focusing almost entirely on the Saints 2019 offense. We talk about Taysom Hill, Emmanual Butler, and a whole lot more. Tune in and see what the Saints Offense could be
Brian and Patrick welcome back Sheldon Rankins from the PUP and discuss whether he took a senzu bean or just has some namekian DNA in him. The guys are also joined by Chris to discuss the Saints 3rd preseason game, the great performance of the offense, Emmanual Butler's upside, Taysom Vs Teddy, and a myriad of other topics as we start to rev things up and get ready for the games to matter.
Brian reviews the Saints 2nd preseason game. Was Teddy as bad as he looked, was Taysom really the second coming of Steve Young, and which players stood out the most?
The guys get together to discuss the Saints first preseason game. What did we see that we liked, what was concerning, why are somethings being overreacted to (at least for now), and why was Teddy Bridgewater's performance such a positive for the Saints.
Brian sits down to take a look at how the Saints roster building over the last several years is putting them in a position to operate from the same kinds of positions of strength as the New England Patriots. How does the current roster depth put them in a great place going into the future, how does it help simplify the decision making process, and how does it put them in a great position to win this year. Get answers to all of those, just tune in and listen.
The guys get together to discuss Michael Thomas's well deserved extension, how they took some of the fan reactions to the negotiations process, camp highlights and how we feel about them (especially Emmanuel Butler), and we finished talking about Colin CowTURD and his stupid comments on the Saints 2019 chances.
the guys get together in one of the last shows before training camp to discuss whether the offense will rule, or will the defense be the new Kings of New Orleans, what the Saints will do at wide receiver, and what's missing in the offense.
The guys sit down (with hopefully all our audio issues resolved forever more) to discuss Michael Thomas's impending extension which will likely make him the highest paid receiver ever. We discuss how we feel about that, why he's a safe investment, and why being a fan is in someways harder this year than its ever been.
The guys return once again to discuss recently released free agent DT Gerald McCoy as well as what our expectations are for the 2019 offense. The show unfortunately cuts off a bit early as we experienced some technical issues, but we hope to have a (hopefully) permanent solution for that next week)
The guys are back and at full strength. We debate over which position is the strongest on the defense, what our expectations are for the defense going into 2019, and of course the usual rants, fights, and...sigh...dad jokes (from Patrick).
Chris and Brian get together to discuss which Saints players are their early nominees to win a bunch of made-up awards. Its offseason fun and we predict which players will break out, who your offensive and defensive mvp's will be, and which players will make you wonder "how the hell'd he make the roster?"
After a long hiatus due in part to the soul crushing way the season ended, laziness, bad scheduling, and a lack of topics, your favorite band of 3 idiots are here to talk about all things New Orleans Saints. This week's show will be all about the draft and the the moves the Saints made in the offseason with more to come over the next few weeks. - why is Dan Arnold already done? - Why does Chris hate Banana's? - Who was the Saints most impactful free agent signing and more
Brian goes over his reaction from the NFL's screwjob over the Saints, what the real issues are that caused it to happen in the first place, and why this team, and this season's memories will NOT be ruined by a BS ending from a bad official.
The guys discuss the Saints comeback victory over the Eagles, why there are more reasons they should blowout the Rams than they shouldn't, Patrick is inappropriate, and as always we answer your twitter questions.
Brian recaps a stressful, exasperating, exhilarating, Playoff game in which the Saints beat the defending champs in the SuperDome and are now 2 wins away from the storybook ending. also...Brian finally welcomes Mike to Tier 1 (whichto many of you is WAY past due)
The guys discuss the miracle that is the Eagles who manage to be both an unstoppable juggernaut, but also the underappreciated underdog who everyone is counting out...however that works. Despite some technical difficulties the guys engage on the debate that matters most....just how bad are the Saints going to beat the Eagles? Because when you're the better team, that SHOULD be your mentality.
Brian was unable to make the show, but Chris and Patrick held it down as we prepare for our playoff bye week. Also we debut our new intro and outro for the playoffs that should be just a little bit nostalgic.
Brian sits down with fellow former blogger from TheSaintsNation.com Andrew Juge (and co-host of the HappyHour Saints podcast) to discuss the 2018 Saints season, the ups and downs, and the importance of appreciating special seasons like this as fans.
The guys discuss the Saints defensive dominance against the Panthers, Cam's stupidity, what's wrong with the Saints offense, and why Tedd Ginn coming back will be huge for the team (and Brian's blood pressure)
Brian recaps the Saints nail biter of a win against the Panthers and goes an predictably profanity laced tirade against his 'favorite' player
The guys discuss what has caused the Saints defense to turn things around, why Demario Davis might be the most impactful signing of the Sean Payton era, and why the Saints are built to last and are the most dangerous team in the NFL.
Brian and Patrick are back to recap the Saints struggles against the Cowboys and why the offense looked the way it did.
The guys discuss the upcoming matchup against the Cowboys, why Dallas has the most delusional fans in football, and why the Saints should dumptruck Dallas. Also, Brian went viral for the best reason (trolling Falcon fans) and rants about Eli Apple.
The guys discuss the Saints epic performance against the Bengals in their 51-14 victory, how this year's offense compares to the legendary 2011 offense, and looking forward to Philly
The guys discuss the Saints impressive win over the rams, what it means for the defense, the Dez Bryant rumors and why he might be JUST what the team needs to complete the offense, and what we see coming down the road for the Saints.
Brian recaps the Saints incredibly impressive (and stressful!) win over the PREVIOUSLY undefeated Los Angeles Rams.
Brian and Patrick discuss the Saints impressive win over the vikings and their upcoming game against the undefeated Rams. Chris is MIA with important family matters, and thanks to Preston Allen we get the promised intro with Patrick's TERRIBLE quote from our last show.
Brian recounts the Saints impressive win over the Minnesota Vikings. The Saints won convincingly in another road game against a likely playoff team and as is the usual (when Brian remembers to do one of these anyway) he answers your questions.
The guys get together to discuss the Saints impressive victory over the Baltimore Ravens, Ken Crawley's evolution into "Ken Kenneth from Connecticut" and the Saints surprise trade for now former Giants corner Eli Apple.
The guys discuss the Saints upcoming matchup with the Baltimore Ravens and are joined by special guest Kyle Barber (@BB_KylePBarber) of Baltimore Beatdown. We discuss the matchups for and against the Saints favor, how 'real' the Raven's defense is, the Willie Snead revenge game, and much much more. Don't forget to rate us on Itunes and share the show with your friends. Also all feedback is welcomed and read (but please actually give the feedback).
Brian, Chris, and Patrick sit down to discuss the Saints dominating 43-19 win over the Washington Redskins (the number 1 defense in the NFL...well...they were). More than anything though we're here to talk about the 4-1 Saints and the incredible accomplishment that Drew Brees reached Monday night as he became the NFL's all time leader in passing yards. Drew did that by going 23-26 as he continues to reset what it means to be accurate and efficient, and that makes his insane volume all the more impressive than its been given credit for. The guys also discuss the pathetic, embarassing, and insulting coverage by certain fat idiots on the NFL Network as well as the GLORIOUS roasting of Josh Norman on Twitter by Michael Thomas.
Brian debuts a new podcast intro as the he recaps the Saints convincing victory over the New York Giants as Alvin Kamara reminds us all he isn't human and the defense shows signs of life. As always thank you for your support and participation
The guys interview Andy Furman from Ultimate NYG (find him on twitter @UltimateNYG) We discuss the ways that the Saints need to improve going forward to reach their potential, why its ok to be disappointed with the way the team has played, and just how enjoyable it is that the Saints tore out the hearts of the Falcons. The Saints have a chance to get to 3-1 with a win vs the mercurial (but dangerous) New York Giants team on Sunday. If they can win again, by hook or crook, they put themselves in a great position for the future.
Brian gives his knee jerk postgame reactions to the Saints soul crushing defeat of the Falcons in overtime, in Atlanta, in an empty stadium and putting the Falcons into the bottom of the division and the Saints 2-1. It didn't happen the way we would have liked, but the Saints won the game and at the end thats all that matters.
