The Carolina Panthers offseason is heating up, and there's a lot to unpack. We start with four UFL standouts who could realistically land in Carolina after the league's 2026 season wrapped up: quarterback Jack Plummer, the UFL's reigning MVP who once again has ties to this Panthers regime; tight end Sal Cannella, a big-bodied pass catcher who already impressed at Bank of America Stadium last preseason; defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs, who could help fill the void left by Tershawn Wharton's neck injury; and outside linebacker Cam Gill, last year's UFL Defensive Player of the Year. Given Carolina's history of pulling from these alternative leagues, none of these names should be considered a long shot. From there, we dive into the tight end conversation that's followed this franchise for years. Greg Olsen, still the gold standard at the position in Carolina history, joined a Charlotte radio show to give his honest evaluation of the current room. Olsen praised the effort and development of Tommy Tremble, Ja'Tavion Sanders and Mitchell Evans, but didn't shy away from the bigger question: is there a true difference-maker in that group, or does the front office eventually need to invest in one? With the Panthers pouring resources into their receiver corps and offensive line, Olsen believes tight end could be the final piece of the offensive puzzle. We also cover a roster move that flew a little under the radar — the Panthers waiving tight end Bryce Pierre after he spent the offseason program on injured reserve. We go through his college career at Arizona State and UCLA, his brief stint on Carolina's practice squad, and what his departure means for the tight end depth chart heading into camp. Finally, we break down ESPN analyst Mike Clay's projected win probability for every single game on the Panthers' 2026 schedule. The numbers aren't kind to the reigning NFC South champions, with several matchups — including a road trip to Philadelphia and a tough stretch against Green Bay, Pittsburgh and Seattle — putting Carolina as significant underdogs. We go week-by-week through the full slate and discuss whether these projections feel fair or whether this team is being undersold once again. As always, we want to hear from you. Drop your thoughts in the comments: should the Panthers go after any of these UFL free agents? Does Greg Olsen have a point about the tight end room? And do you trust these win projections, or do you think Carolina outperforms them in 2026? Like, comment, and subscribe for more Panthers coverage all offseason long.

Why The Carolina Panthers Have Decisions To Make With Taylor Moton & Bryce Young + Offseason Updates!

Two Growls One Roar: A Carolina Panthers Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 15, 2026 17:33

NFL.com just released its 2026 divisional quarterback rankings, and the NFC South landed dead last — with Bryce Young singled out as the swing factor. The verdict was familiar: talented, but too inconsistent to trust on a weekly basis heading into his third year under Dave Canales. In this episode, we're breaking down that ranking, why it might be missing the bigger picture, and what's actually happening behind the scenes in Charlotte that could define the next five years of Panthers football.First, the counterpoint. The entire NFC South got dinged, not just Bryce — and in 2025, Young posted career highs across the board: 63.6% completion percentage, 3,011 yards, 23 touchdowns, and a playoff berth that delivered Carolina's first NFC South title since 2015. He also came one defensive stop away from a second straight playoff upset against the best roster in football. The "highs and lows" critique isn't wrong, but it's only half the story. Then there's the wrinkle nobody's talking about: Taylor Moton. At 31 years old and entering his 10th season, Moton was just named one of 21 NFL players whose PFF grade has climbed for three consecutive years running — from a career-low 69.3 in 2022 all the way up to 80.5 in 2025. He's played in 129 of 134 possible games since becoming a full-time starter. While the league focuses on Bryce, Carolina's right tackle is quietly having the best stretch of his career at an age when most linemen are declining. That sets up the real thesis of this episode: what if Carolina's blueprint is already sitting in the building? Philadelphia built a championship around Jalen Hurts using an elite, aging offensive line to buy a young quarterback time to develop. Carolina has the early shape of that exact model — Moton up front, Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis controlling the interior, and a young QB who has already shown flashes of the poise that model requires. Monroe Freeling, this year's first-round pick, gives the front office insurance at either tackle spot whenever Moton's window closes — and there's a real cap decision looming, with $14.5 million in savings on the table if Moton is released next offseason, right as Bryce becomes extension-eligible.Which brings us to the Brunson question. In 2024, Jalen Brunson left $113 million on the table to give the Knicks cap flexibility — and 14 months later he was hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy as Finals MVP. Could a below-market Bryce Young extension be the move that lets Carolina retain Jalen Coker, extend the receiver room, and build the roster around him the same way? Finally, we go inside the building with former Panthers tight end Dominic Daphne, who spent last summer in Canales' system. He breaks down why this tight end room doesn't need a single star to be dangerous, what makes the offense so detail-obsessed in the offseason program, and what he says is the most underrated part of Bryce Young's game.Subscribe and hit the bell — this is the conversation Panthers fans need to be having heading into camp. Keep Pounding.

OTAs are finally here, and the hype around the 2026 Saints season is starting to build. Mario Jerez and Erin Summers break down the biggest storylines to watch as the team returns to the practice field, including Tyler Shough's development, player usage and positioning, and who shows up for voluntary workouts. Plus, the debut of a brand new segment: YES or BS. The crew debates whether Chris Olave is getting massively underrated around the league despite putting up elite production through constant offensive instability. Is the “injury prone” label fair? And why does his reputation among fans still feel lower than his actual production? Then: Kellen Moore vs the rest of the NFC South. Mario explains why the Saints' new head coach/playcaller enters the division as the most accomplished offensive mind by a wide margin — and why that should give Saints fans real optimism heading into the season. They also tackle a big betting question: Will the Saints make the playoffs this year? With expectations clearly rising inside the building, Mario and Erin discuss what a postseason appearance would mean for the future of the franchise, Tyler Shough's development, and the overall direction of the organization. And of course, the latest from #SaintsTwitter: Saints players go bowling before OTAs Alvin Kamara hits the Savannah Bananas game Derek Carr talks about his former team online again...... All that and more on the BLEAV in Saints Podcast! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

In This Episode: On this edition of The Audible, Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom break down the NFC South's 2026 NFL Draft — a division that delivered surprises, steals, and some head‑scratchers. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have found one of the draft's true sleepers in WR Ted Hurst, a smooth separator with big‑play upside who could crack the rotation sooner than expected. The New Orleans Saints swung big and landed what some evaluators call the best wide receiver in the entire class in Jordyn Tyson, giving their offense a potential star. The Atlanta Falcons played it safe with a conservative, almost boring draft — but was it quietly effective. And the Carolina Panthers focused on defense, but did they add enough impact talent to actually move the needle in a division that's getting faster and more explosive.     watch on YouTube -> https://youtu.be/ba9WquO6NuU
