On Tuesday, the baseball world was shocked to learn that longtime Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno had agreed to sell the franchise to Stan Kroenke, and fans of the Halos are ecstatic. After cries from the fanbase to sell the team, Moreno did just that — and to someone who has a pedigree of winning. Is the future bright for Angels fans? On this episode of Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman discuss the $4 billion deal that sees the owner of the Los Angeles Rams, Arsenal FC, the Denver Nuggets and other professional franchises take over a bewildered baseball team that has been longing for success. They highlight some of Kroenke's championship wins, whether the Angels will remain in Anaheim and what the future could mean for franchise star Mike Trout. Later on the show, Jake and Jordan welcome former MLB player and current broadcaster Ryan Spilborghs to talk about the exciting Friday Night Baseball watch-along on Apple TV that the guys will be doing starting this Friday. Ryan then talks about his time playing in Japan, why the Seattle Mariners are such a disappointment and the incredible game-saving catch by Colton Cowser. The guys then end the show by talking about the latest in the Los Angeles Dodgers-Mark Walter situation, the San Diego Padres calling up top prospect Ethan Salas and the Baltimore Orioles claiming Luis Robert Jr. from the New York Mets. 1:16 - The Opener: Angels get sold 29:51 - Ryan Spilborghs joins the show 47:01 - What is wrong with the Mariners? 58:41 - Around The League: Orioles claim Luis Robert Jr. 1:02:11 - Padres promote Salas 1:04:45 - Latest in Dodgers-Walter drama Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:
Prophet Playoff Theory is back — and this time we're breaking down the NFC West! We start with the lonely Arizona Cardinals. Are they a team without direction, or is there actually a plan in place? Kev asks the big question: Do the Cardinals give Carson Beck a real shot at quarterback? Then we get to the first Super Bowl-or-bust team: the Los Angeles Rams. Aaron Donald is BACK, Matthew Stafford is coming off an MVP season, the Rams traded for superstar Myles Garrett, and Sean McVay remains one of the best coaches in football. With all that firepower, is anything short of a Super Bowl appearance a failure for LA?Next up, the San Francisco 49ers. They've been in the headlines for plenty of reasons this offseason, not including football related means— but can they put the noise behind them and make another championship run? And is this ultimately their last “Go For It” year with this core? Finally, the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are chasing back-to-back titles. But with Klint Kubiak leaving for Las Vegas and Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker now in Kansas City, will the offense take a step back? Forget the final score for a minute — THIS IS THE NEWS ANGELS FANS HAVE BEEN WAITING YEARS TO HEAR! On a massive edition of the ToddFox Postgame Show on the HITI Network, we break down the Angels' loss to the New York Yankees, but the game has been completely overshadowed by franchise-changing news: ARTE MORENO HAS AGREED TO SELL CONTROL OF THE LOS ANGELES ANGELS TO STAN KROENKE AND KROENKE SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT! After 23 years of Arte Moreno ownership, the Angels are preparing to enter an entirely new era. The transaction is expected to officially close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to MLB approval and customary closing conditions. Moreno is expected to retain an undisclosed minority stake. And Kroenke isn't just another billionaire buying a baseball team. His sports empire includes the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids and Arsenal, with championships across several of those organizations. For an Angels fan base that has spent years chanting SELL THE TEAM, this is potentially one of the biggest turning points in franchise history. THE TEAM IS BEING SOLD. STAN KROENKE IS COMING TO ANAHEIM. A NEW ERA OF ANGELS BASEBALL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN. ToddFox reacts to the Yankees game, but we're going DEEP on the sale: What could Kroenke ownership mean for the roster? Will the Angels finally invest in player development and organizational infrastructure? What happens with Angel Stadium? What changes could be coming to the front office? And most importantly—can Kroenke finally turn the Angels back into a championship organization? After years of frustration, losing seasons and watching some of baseball's greatest talent come through Anaheim without postseason success, Angels fans finally have something completely different: CHANGE. Tonight isn't just another postgame show. It's potentially the beginning of an entirely new chapter of Angels baseball. TARPS OFF! THE TEAM IS SOLD! Sound off in the comments: What is the FIRST thing you want Stan Kroenke to change? The Dad Edge Podcast (formerly The Good Dad Project Podcast)
Gentlemen, welcome to the fourth and final episode of this month's series with my wife Jessica, and I want to start by saying thank you for showing up for this one, since August actually had five Fridays this year, which means she recorded a full bonus episode she didn't have to do. Today we're tackling something that trips up more marriages than almost anything else: roles and expectations, and specifically, all the unspoken assumptions about who does what that quietly cause resentment when they're never actually talked about. Jessica and I get into the finances first, how I took over bill paying for our first five years of marriage and, driven by my own anxiety around debt, paid things down so aggressively it actually put us in a bind more than once. We talk through why swapping our roles, me handling investing and her handling the day to day bills, ended up being the right fit for both of us, and why neither of us wants to trade back. From there we get into dinner, probably the single area that's caused us the most quiet frustration over the years, from Jessica's years of resentment doing all the cooking to the practical shift we finally made once we actually talked about it out loud instead of just enduring it. We also open up about how we split the harder parenting conversations, why the sex talk with our boys has always fallen to me, and why Jessica has become the one I lean on for basically every other hard conversation in our house. I share what I've learned watching her approach conflict, calm, strategic, and incredibly well timed, compared to my own instinct to just react in the moment. We close out by talking through how we split up kids' sports and activities, and what boundaries actually held up over 22 years of marriage. If your marriage has ever hit friction over who's supposed to be doing what, and you've never actually sat down and talked about it, this conversation is a real look at how two people figured that out over two decades together, including the parts that took way too long to fix. Larry and Jessica swapped financial responsibilities after outside mentors pointed out they'd assigned them backward, and it took years to get right. Resentment builds fastest around unspoken expectations. Nearly every friction point in their marriage, from bills to dinner, traces back to one person assuming a role the other person quietly grew to dread. Sometimes the fix is simple once you finally say the hard thing out loud. Jessica's years of resentment around cooking dissolved almost immediately once she told Larry directly that she hated it, leading to a workable rotation within one conversation. Timing matters as much as the message when addressing conflict. Jessica's approach of waiting for a calm moment, rather than confronting an issue in the heat of frustration, consistently produces a better outcome than reacting immediately. Roles don't have to be permanent or symmetrical to work. Twenty-two years in, the goal isn't a perfectly even split of every responsibility, it's each person operating in the role that actually fits them, while staying willing to revisit it when it's not working. Every role we've settled into came from a real conversation, sometimes an overdue one, not from assuming the other person would just handle it or just deal with it forever. If something in your own marriage has quietly been building resentment because nobody's actually said it out loud, let this be the nudge to finally have that conversation. Go out and live legendary.
