The Seattle Seahawks are heading to the Super Bowl after a 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field. Sam Darnold came up big when it mattered most, connecting with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for touchdown before halftime after taking a crushing hit. Kenneth Walker III punched in the opening score, and the offense executed a masterful five-minute drive that helped close out the game. The defense came up big on a critical fourth-and-four stop, with Julian Love and DeMarcus Lawrence dropping into coverage to stuff the Rams attempt—a play Sean McVay dismissed as "luck" in his post-game comments. Riq Woolen's costly taunting penalty on third down helped give the Rams an opening, leading to an immediate Puka Nacua touchdown. Cooper Kupp proved instrumental in the Seahawks' success, making key third-down conversions against his former team after the Rams organization reportedly urged other teams to lowball him in free agency (which we later cover in the Do Better segment). In the second half of the show, we look ahead to Super Bowl matchup against the New England Patriots. The Seahawks face a Drake Maye-led offense that excels under pressure but lacks some of the firepower of previous opponents. The franchise has a chance to exorcise demons from Super Bowl XLIX and claim the Lombardi Trophy on the 49ers' home turf in Santa Clara, completing one of the most unexpected and satisfying seasons in recent memory.  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. January 28, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 86 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers introducing Mike McCarthy as the team's new head coach during a Tuesday press conference. Alex and I parse a lot of what McCarthy had to say during his Tuesday press conference. We discuss in-depth what McCarthy had to say about QB Aaron Rodgers possibly returning in 2026 in addition to his thoughts on second-year QB Will Howard as well. We discuss whether either of us are hoping for Rodgers to return in 2026. We discuss the expected/hoped for timeline when it comes to the Rodgers' decision for 2026. Not very many current Steelers players were present for the Tuesday McCarthy press conference, so Alex and I discuss that topic a little bit during this episode as well. With Chris Shula and Nate Scheelhaase both looking like they might not land head coaching jobs this offseason, and thus staying with the Los Angeles Rams, Alex and I discuss the way that looks when it comes to Steelers deciding to bypass on both for their head coach vacancy. It sounds like the Steelers won't lose AGM Andy Weidl to the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, so Alex and I discuss that new development that happened on Tuesday. During this show, the Cleveland Browns announced that Todd Monken will be their new head coach so obviously Alex and I discuss that breaking news. We also discuss how Browns DC Jim Schwartz might not take too kindly of him being passed over for the position. Former New England Patriots HC Bill Belichick won't be a first-ballot Hall of Famer this year, so Alex and I discuss his snubbing. We also discuss how the Belichick news might further help the late L.C. Greenwood when it comes to his chances of finally getting into the Hall of Fame this year. As of Wednesday morning, we know several Steelers' candidates that are being interviewed for coaching staff spots, so we bring everyone up to date on that list of people. Later in this show, Alex and I pass along the breaking news of Adam Henry being hired by the Steelers to be the team's new wide receivers coach. This 90-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the above recap and we make sure to read and answer a few emails we have received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. The Seattle Seahawks punched their ticket to Super Bowl 60 with a 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship. We're breaking down the critical moments that swung the game. Kenneth Walker's bruising second-quarter run set the physical tone early. Maybe the turning point in the game came when rookie Nick Emmanwori delivered back-to-back pass breakups and forced a Rams punt. That helped to give Sam Darnold just enough time to march downfield and take a 17-13 halftime lead. Darnold's performance included a no-look pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba—the kind of throw typically reserved for Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford. JSN's one-handed grab, a first-half reception through contact, and a deep catch to set up a touchdown, showcased why the Sam-to-JSN connection has become one of the league's most dangerous. We go through those moments, plus the favorite plays of the game from our flock. Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. Support the show Get in the Flock! Recorded: January 26th 2026 | On this weeks Monday NFL Recap, Taylor is hitting this one by himself with help from the boys in the back. The boys recap the NFC and AFC Championship games from this past weekend. The first game was the New England Patriots traveling out to the Denver Broncos. The biggest question going into this game was how backup quarterback, Jarrett Stidham, was going to play. He ended up not playing that bad but the weather became more of an issue. The snow had a massive factor in that game which may have been why Drake Maye only threw for 86 yards. Taylor breaks down the game and how Mike Vrabel's coaching was an x-factor. Then the boys get into the NFC Championship where the Los Angeles Rams traveled up to the Seattle Seahawks for a rubber match between the division foes. This game was high flying with points being scored everywhere. Taylor believes that Sam Darnold has officially put the haters to rest as he threw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a massive game is basically unstoppable. Finally the boys give their Super Bowl predictions, the bus is divided on who they are riding with.
