It's time to stop the fear, anger, hate and division and come together as human beings. That starts with calling for a return to human decency and demanding it from our leaders, fellow citizens and ourselves. I hope this program can help inspire and make you think.
The 2nd half of my conversation with my good friend Aric (who is also a scientist). In this section, I give the local government officials who are responding to the rise in COVID-19 cases (again) by placing orders for more restrictions, a suggestion for an alternative approach. Also, I ask the question that needs to be asked of all of us. #HumanDecency #MaskUp
In this episode we update you on the most recent health order in Dane County, WI and talk science with a real-life scientist! Seriously though, Aric Daul is someone I've known most of my life and he is one of the most down to earth doctors I know and someone I trust. We talk about the novel corona virus, COVID-19 and address the hot-button mask topic. Straightforward, reasonable and solid information - that's what we are trying to give you here. There was a lot to unpack, so this is a 2 part episode. Stay safe and well and remember...Human Decency.
The 1st episode of a new program to call for and promote human decency. Future episodes will feature incredible guests sharing their inspiring stories of good, kindness and respect; we will also examine and discuss the challenges that have prevented us from coming together as human beings. This first episode though, is just me - speaking off the cuff and from the heart. I hope you connect with it. I hope it makes you think. I hope it inspires you to use your voice to advance the idea of human decency in our world. Please listen with an open mind and heart and share if you think it's worth sharing. Thank you. -Jason O. Hafeman

I recently sat down with Chef Oscar of Fuegos -Steak•Tapas•Vegan. Listening to him describe the unthinkable tragedy his family went through and how it shaped his restaurant, gives a person some perspective. It's a real-life story that seems like it shouldn't be real. And to heal from it and still be so giving and community focused...I am humbled.Food, family, fun & faith...that is Fuegos.
Kate was a corrections officer, now a realtor and took a leap to follow her passion for reviving old furniture to create "Kate & Company". Through the process she's kept great perspective and defined her version of success in owning a small business. Enjoy getting to know Kate Baldukas.
In this episode we revisit the best basketball game I've ever seen in person (on any level)! The 2003-2004 girls hoops team from Boyceville, WI, led by coach Jolene Bird, was one of my favorites! Great kids...great people and one heck of a team! I will never forget their State Semi-final game in 2004, where they set a state record with 22 assists (on 27 made shots). What a performance and a memory I wanted to share. Enjoy!

In this edition of All Over The Map, I sit down with longtime fire fighter, current President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin and recent Democratic candidate for governor...Mahlon Mitchell. We discuss how he got into fire fighting, why he decided to run for governor, why the November 6th election is so important...and there's even a #ChocolateTrump sighting! It's an interesting conversation and I hope regardless of your political leanings, you give it a fair listen. Mahlon is a man of service and it's clear he wants to do everything he can to help people. It was my first time meeting him and i appreciate him taking the time to do this interview with me (especially with an election right around the corner). Thanks also to Kevin Hembrook for connecting us.
With all of the extreme rain and flooding in Southern Wisconsin recently, I've got my journalist hat back on! September episodes will deal with different facets of this issue starting with a good chat with Monica Titley (Allstate Agent in Sun Prairie & a good friend). We talk about homeowners, flood and auto insurance and how and when it can help with flood damage and when it cannot. I learned a bunch during this conversation, so share away and spread the info to others please! Plus Monica is just awesome! She is always giving back in some way to people who are less fortunate.

The first part of my interview with the guys from Counter Void! Alright, so some of you know Ben Hafeman is my brother, but that doesn't change the fact he is one amazing musician, song writer and vocalist! I also know Brad Miller, who has some of the craziest guitar skills I've ever heard. Their music is rock-based, but has a lot of diversity and range and can appeal to many different audiences. For AOTM, we're just talking though and getting to know the guys better and what's shaped their musical style. It's a fun one! For more about their music check out countervoidband.com
In Part 2, Sue shares a very personal and relatable story about how she beat something many people struggle with.
