In 2002, 15 year old Alisha Burns ran away from her foster home with Steven Kaczmarek, a sex trafficker who then groomed her to act as a prostitute for wealthy-looking men. On September 25, Burns was offered cash in exchange for sex iin Las Vegas, Nevada by Pedro Villareal. When they arrived at Villareal's residence, Kaczmarek and his friend “Tommy” attacked Villareal in an attempt to rob him. Villareal was later found dead in the same room. Burns and Kaczmarek were arrested, and in highly unusual fashion Burns was allowed contact with Kaczmarek while in the custody of the police. During their conversations, he coerced her into accepting a guilty plea. She plead guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 10 years. Thanks for listening on your preferred platform, we are available on ALL of them (and on YouTube). It's Paul joined by Enrique and Haitham to review the 2021-22 season. Sean is busy today and for Daz if you are listening, we are thinking about you - looking forward to having you join us again soon. There'll be more to say on transfers in a few weeks - when potentially we will lose another real hero from the last 6 years, and we will have another Uruguayan striker in our team. Our goal for today to help everyone reflect on what a season it was and find the moments that brought us joy. Your best moment of the season: United away, beating Atletico Madrid, Salah goals, Winning the cup finals Worst moment: Champions League final, final League game, Mane leaving, other fans negative chants, Biggest surprise: Quite how useless United were, games from Joel Matip, Konate's form, Virgil's form, Luis Diaz, Lukaku form. Favorite player: Salah, Thiago, Alisson, Mane, Matip? 6 of them in the PFA team of the year - Favorite goal: Thiago against Porto, Salah against City, Divock at Wolves or at Preston Favorite game: FA Cup semi final, Villareal at home, United away Funniest moment: Alisson mocking Pickford, Fred being brushed aside by Kounate at Old Trafford, Tsimikas penalty at the FA Cup Final Other stuff: Women's team winning Championship Klopp signing to 2026 - everything he says Everton's terrible season Karius finally leaves We'll be back very soon with the new season, starting with some transfer stuff and then the Community Shield is in 7 weeks. Leo Villareal works with pixels and binary code to create complex, rhythmic compositions in light. His goal is to create a rich environment in which emergent behavior can occur without a preconceived outcome. His work is focused on stripping systems down to their essence to better understand the underlying structures and rules that govern how they work. He is interested in lowest common denominators such as pixels or the zeros and ones in binary code. The resulting forms move, change, interact and ultimately grow into complex organisms that are inspired by mathematician John Conway's work with cellular automata and the Game of Life. On March 5, 2013 Villareal inaugurated The Bay Lights, a 1.8-mile-long installation of 25,000 white LED lights on San Francisco's Bay Bridge which has since become a permanent installation. In April 2021, Villareal completed Illuminated River, which unites 9 bridges in central London into a single, monumental work of public art. He and Zuckerman discuss different types of public art, connecting the flow state and creativity, circularity, being a beacon, personal and family history, NFTs, and yoga!

The Barca Breakdown traveled to Spain to watch the final two games of the season against Getafe and Villareal. Unfortunately, Barca were not able to score in either game and the performances were uninspiring. The environment of the Camp Nou was something you will not be able to feel at home through the TV. It was a beautiful experience and a joy just to be in the presence of the fans and vibe. There was not much to fight for as Barca had solidified their place in second, but it was sad to see so many players being uninspired on the pitch in the final two games. The team needs a lot of work and this seemed like a great opportunity to kick it into high gear and try some beautiful football. In the Getafe game there was at most one high light and the line-up was undesirable. No dembele and a backline of Mingueza and Lenglet. Then in the Villareal game, they just played poorly and let Villareal walk around them scoring two great goals. Hopefully this does not continue on into the next season.   The top highlights were Adam meeting Pedri at the F1 formula race and the tour of the Camp Nou. The tour really gave you a deep dive into the history of the team and how they have come to be so great over the last 120 years. With the first Champions League trophy from Ronald Koeman's free kick goal to the astounding careers of Pep, Ronaldinho, and Messi. Even a great history of the presidents/coaches of the club. It was a beautiful reminder of what FC Barcelona is about and hopefully we can return to some semblance of greatness in the coming years.
