Through the conversations my guests and I have I hope to inspire vulnerability and accountability. I also hope you gain skills to show up for yourself FIRST and then for your community. Thank yo…
I am continuing the break down of black history starting with slavery. This episode gets into some of the experiences once slaves reached the U.S. and the economic impact slavery had on the U.S. I hope this widens your perspective and understanding of these times. Today is the first day of Black History Month and I am embarking on a journey I have been wanting to do for a while now, go through black history during Black History Month. So here I go! Hi ya'll! I am soooo glad to be back. This year I will be doing me... authentically! And I am hoping that we all can live our lives more authentically, put ourselves out there and reach for our goals shamelessly. My hope and prayer for us this year is that we focus on ourselves. I pray that we do what makes us happy without the fear of what others may think about our version of happiness. I hope you enjoy this episode!
It's not uncommon to hear people talk about an impending apocalypse. Whether it be referring to a tanking economy or the current COVID-19 pandemic, however I believe we're already in one. Everyday we get up and walk amongst zombies, a whole bunch of emotionally dead people. If you're not feeling you're not living. Take a listen to the reason why I feel this way and my remedies on reviving a dead society.
Mental health is not a common discussion among men, but it is a common issue among them. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. and in 2019 men died by suicide 3.63 times more often than women. This is a conversation that needs to be had. Our men are crying out and we need to talk about it and listen. Shoutout to my great friend, Jave, for discussing this topic with me and shedding a light on his own struggles and insight on men's mental health.
This episode was recorded with my big sis, Kristelyn, as my guest. Kristelyn and I are not biological sisters, but over the last year we have become very close. Now we consider ourselves more than friends, we have become family. Our time in which we became close was a crucial time in both of our lives. It was our sisterhood that really propelled us into the lives we live now. Our lives now are much better than before we got close. We often think back to the time when we first became "sisters". Sisterhood has helped us in so many ways and in many ways we never knew possible so we decided to let you all in on our journey and to get our take on sisterhood. We hope you enjoy!!! XO, Kris and Cam
This episode was random, but it worked out perfectly. My amazing guest, Adrian, decided to hop on the mic and this is what we decided to talk about and BOY was it a conversation for the books! Valentine's Day is around the corner and while many are excited some need to sit this one out. Take a listen to hear our take on this beloved holiday and our personal experiences with it and our takeaways from it! Enjoy
Last year was hard for me, as I'm sure it was for everyone. In addition to the pandemic I had a lot of personal issues that kept me preoccupied and in many ways paralyzed me. I felt stuck and it feels really good to be unstuck again and to be doing something that I love... THIS PODCAST. Hope you enjoy! See you in two weeks :)
During this time it is important to stay calm so that we can make decisions that not only benefit us, but our communities as a whole. Also stress can suppress your immune system so it is even more important to stay calm at this time. I pray that this aids you in your quest towards optimal health. God bless (insert praying hands)
Last July I started therapy and have been going consistently ever since. It has been an amazing journey. It has also been tough, but in all ways it has been worth it. I hope this episode inspires you to take your mental health more seriously and inspires you to actively improve it. I am rooting for you!
Why black women manipulating their looks to look more like a white woman is NOT THE SAME as a white woman manipulating her looks to look like a black woman. p.s. sorry about the audio I forgot to select my mic and not my laptop audio.
It's deeper than we think and a lot of people don't realize this because a lot of people are not educated on the topics they comment on. It's important to know your past if you're ever going to understand the present. Hit me up with any questions or concerns you may have at camstakepodcast@gmail.com
