Mary, Martha, and Lazarus were siblings, each with their own personality, their own way of loving Jesus, and likely their own tensions. And yet, Jesus called them His friends. In this final session of the series, we'll reflect on what it means to embrace the differences among us and to stay in relationship even when things get complicated. Sisterhood isn't about agreeing on everything, it's about choosing to see Christ in the other, again and again.Have you ever felt tension in your friendships or struggled to connect with someone who's just different? In this interview, Kit Maloney and Rachel Rose talk with Miara Pack, who shares her journey of saying no to the white coat and bravely charting her own course. Miara opens up about her experience with painful cycles and dismissive doctors and her choice to pursue natural healing: yoni steaming, breathwork, and lifestyle changes alongside western medical care. In this 8-minute solo episode, I reflect on a powerful conversation sparked at a recent wedding, where mutual respect and emotional consideration in relationships were jokingly labeled as being "whipped." It opened the door to a much deeper discussion on devotion; what it really means to be devoted to your partner and your relationship.Through stories from my own life, my sessions, and the lens of mental health, I explore how devotion builds interdependence, strengthens emotional safety, and nurtures the sacred “we” in partnership. This is for anyone wanting to love with more presence, care, and conscious intention. And if you're craving a space to go even deeper into these topics, I share more about our upcoming Tuscany Retreat: Self-Worth, Self-Care & Sisterhood happening August 18–23. Today's episode is deeply personal. I'm honored to introduce my oldest son, Mike Nicholson, known as Digital Tapestry. At 16, Mike was in a near-fatal car crash. That accident changed everything. He walked away with a halo on his head, but the dream was put on hold. What could have broken him instead ignited something powerful. Mike turned to music and fitness as healing tools, writing songs that come from the most honest, vulnerable places. His journey from trauma to transformation is inspiring. Today, Mike is a finalist in America's Top Hitmaker competition. He's one step away from performing on the same stage as Post Malone, being featured in Rolling Stone, and winning $50,000. This isn't just a story about music; it's about resilience, redemption, and the dream that refused to die. In this raw and resonant conversation, host Deborah Moffatt of The Healing Version sits down with licensed clinical social worker and founder of Restority Space, Fanny Tristan, to unpack the complex intersection of trauma, womanhood, and singlehood for Black and Brown women. Fanny shares her journey into social work and how her personal experiences as an eldest daughter shaped her trauma-informed approach. She highlights the unique emotional challenges that firstborn daughters face—especially perfectionism, anxiety, and depression—and how these intersect with systemic pressures around relationships, marriage, and motherhood. Together, Deborah and Fanny dive deep into the colonized mindsets around love, self-worth, and gender roles. Fanny explains how women often internalize shame or a sense of being "behind" when single in their 30s or 40s, and why therapy shouldn't always be about diagnosing but about creating supportive, holistic environments where women can thrive. Fanny also discusses how her platform, Her Soul Supply, offers live masterclasses, retreats (like her recent one in Oaxaca, Mexico), and group coaching for single Black and Brown women to heal, explore their identity, and form intentional sisterhood. This episode is a rich, unfiltered reminder that: You don't have to be chosen to be worthy. Softness requires safety. Sisterhood heals. Healing is political.

You'll hear Slayer's take on her current health journey, rebuilding from burnout, and making the small daily choices your highest self would make — like ordering groceries from the pool.
Welcome back to the Sisterhood of S.W.E.A.T., where we celebrate strength, wisdom, and powerful women making waves—literally! Today, we're diving into SharkFest 2025, National Geographic's annual summer event featuring over 25 hours of jaw-dropping programming about the ocean's most misunderstood predators. One of the brilliant voices leading the charge is shark expert and marine biologist Candace Fields, whose groundbreaking work is featured in the gripping six-part series Investigation Shark Attack. This episode is all about fierce feminine power, from apex predators to passionate conservationists. Featured Links:
We're continuing our break from examining government-imposed feminist initiatives in the military and their expense (and everything else at USAspending.gov) to take a look at a recent article about the Sisterhood of Sisterhoods: The National Organization for Women. Remember how feminists are always telling us that if women ruled the world, it'd be all peace & no war, all shiny happy people and no conflict? Well about that… The discussion streams at 7PM on Thursday, June 6th, 2025, or you can find other viewing and listening options at honeybadgerbrigade.com in the dropdown menu at the top of the page.
In this episode, Monica Wisdom explores the importance of finding an aligned community as part of living a soft, purposeful life. Too often, we stay connected out of history, tradition, or guilt, but not alignment. Monica invites listeners to reflect on the people around them and consider: Are these my people, or just the ones I've always known? Through personal stories, cultural insights, and thoughtful critique, this conversation examines how technology, social shifts, and emotional disconnection are shaping our relationships and how we can return to the sacred act of community-building with clarity, care, and gentleness. After a botchy IG Live when I couldn't SEE Esin, this was delicious to LOOK into her beautiful eyes and connect heart to heart. Erin is a Holistic Psychologist, LCSW, Addiction Professional, and Relationship Expert. We dove right into our shared experiences of Female Friendship & Betrayal. While many think breaking up with a boyfriend or husband is intense… we both agreed that the heartbreak of female friendship betrayals and the pain of sisterhood ruptures can be even more intense… perhaps because you don't see them coming. We both opened up about how early family roles and codependent tendencies and how that has shaped our adult relationships, and how needing constant reassurance or connection with others can lead to losing a sense of self. It was so nourishing to connect with Esin about the complexities of therapeutic relationships, how deeply intimate and soul-connected they can become, and the struggle to maintain healthy boundaries without losing authenticity or care. We both have historically over-given to clients at the cost of our own well-being. I shared how my mentors have taught me self-first care vs. selfless care, and how time off and new practices like a month's sabbatical in Spain, flamenco dancing is helping me reclaim joy and balance. As two single women, we highlighted the importance of building friendships and romantic relationships outside of work and stop over-relying on our careers for fulfillment. We lovingly challenged each other to actively create more space for personal relationships and fun. I shared a playfully structured approach with ways I'm reparenting my inner self—including having “dinner” with her inner masculine and feminine, and putting a cardboard Jason Mamoa in my home to prompt sensual self-practices! (Decided on the poster, not the full-size cardboard after all xox) Our conversation was deeply personal, with both of us modeling vulnerability, acknowledging our wounds, and laughing through the shared journey of learning to love and care for ourselves more fully. Some bumper sticker takeaways include..."If I avoid love, I avoid pain. But if I avoid pain, I also avoid love.” "We don't want to dismantle codependency in a way where we demonize it—we just want to harness it differently.” "The source of my wholeness needs to come from inside-out, not outside-in." This episode is a beautiful, raw, and deeply human exploration of the messy, courageous journey of reclaiming self-worth, intimacy, and joy—especially for those, like Esin and I, who help others for a living. In this special episode, I sit down with my little sister to reflect on our unforgettable trip to France. Though my self-esteem was tested, it was a journey that made me and my sister closer than ever. From the cobblestone streets of Paris to the Mediterranean breeze in Nice, we share how travel can shape your confidence, challenge your mindset, and create memories you'll never forget. You will hear about… the sister fights we had in France (and how we repaired)our best and worst moments from the trip, including my “haircut from hell” that totally tested my self-esteemwhat I learned about my perfectionism and personal growthmy sister's relationship with art, her supportive art teacher, and how creative expression has shaped her self-esteem and sense of identity how it feels to turn 17 and the pressure of feeling like you have to figure out who you're supposed to beThough this podcast is usually about self-love, body image, and confidence for women, I hope you enjoy this conversation with my sister. We learned so much about each other, the beauty and complexity of family, and how embracing imperfections can lead to genuine connection. Traveling together magnified our insecurities but also opened our hearts to more empathy and understanding—both for ourselves and for each other.Remember: you don't have to have everything perfectly planned out to be worthy of love, adventure, and self-compassion, and connection. Growth happens in the messy, unpolished moments, not just the picture-perfect ones. Your self-esteem might waver, and your confidence might crack, but you are enough exactly as you are.Mentioned In This Episode... Google map with all of our France recommendations
