Come Follow Me For You AND Me

I learned something new that I am so excited to share with you! The Spirit taught me tonight one of the important reasons of participating in Missionary Work or the Gathering of Israel is to help build up spiritual reserves for ourselves so we can withstand difficult times.

I am so excited to be starting our study of the Doctrine & Covenants. The more I have been studying Section 1 the more my testimony of this book has already been strengthened. In this episode, I give a brief background of Section 1 and share my thoughts on why I feel it is so important for us to read the Doctrine & Covenants this year. This is a special episode with my little sister Chelsea! She is apart of a General Conference study group with me called Sunday Studies! We go live every Sunday and discuss thoughts and impressions from a General Conference talk. For the month of December, we have been focusing our "lives" all on Christmas. The topic of remembering how merciful the Lord has been in our lives is something that I have thought so much about this week as we have been studying Moroni 10. I was reminded of the importance of this while hearing the story of the Children of Israel and how they forgot all the amazing things the Lord had done for their people. I learned a different definition of the word "Exhort" and I love it! The word "exhort" can mean "to advise, warn, stimulate to action, to cheer". I love that last part, "to cheer"! Read Moroni chapter 10 with that perspective in mind, that Moroni is cheering you on! Who can you cheer on in your life today?

I was blessed with the opportunity to team teach today over at @instantinstutute on Instagram! We discussed Moroni chapter 8! In preparation to this I was taught a new concept about baptism that I had never really thought of before! I share what I learned by the spirit in today's episode! This episode is all about a powerful lesson I learned from reading Moroni 6:5. I believe there is power and strength in being open one with another concerning the welfare of our souls. My life has been blessed in being open and vulnerable with others and I know yours can be as well. Today's challenge is to pray to be guided to know who you can help and strengthen.

We learn in Moroni 6:4 that one of the amazing blessings of the scriptures is that they can help keep us in the right way. They can keep us on the path that will lead us back to our Heavenly Father. What an amazing blessing! I feel so much love and gratitude for the scriptures when I read this verse.

If you need to lean on your sword a little and rest right now, that is okay. Once you have gained enough strength stand back up and finish your fight. I know you can do it.

In Ether 12:4 we read: "4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." I love the things this verse shares of what a belief in God can do for us. In today's episode I share some thoughts and feeling around this scripture. What does your belief in God do for you?

Just think, if the Lord can make the impossible possible by making stones shine in darkness to give light to the brother of Jared and his people what can he do in your life that at this moment seems impossible? How amazing and comforting is that thought?!

We learn in Ether 2 how important prayer is the Lord. He has so much in store for us and wants to tell us all this through prayer! Can you imagine what He is waiting to tell you?

We learn a powerful lesson from what can happen by praying for others in Ether 1: 33-37. This episode's invitations: 1- Can you think of times when others have been an answer to your prayers 2- Who in your life are you inspired to pray for today? Whoever comes to your mind pray for them now!

4 Nephi contains an amazing account of a people who lived in unity and righteousness! In this week's episode we will talk about the reasons that led them to this happy and unified state and then eventually what led them to their downfall. There are powerful lessons in here for all of us! What stands out the most to you?

This week we are discussing amazing things! The Scattering and Gathering of Israel, Tithing, Record Keeping and Family History work! Phew! Lots to cover and lots to learn! I hope you learn the things you need to learn and leave with some ideas of how to implement them!

The Savior taught the people so many amazing things that we get to learn about from our reading on these chapters. We learn about how to be a better minister and how to take care of other people the way He would. What we can do to be spirituality filled through the sacrament and the amazing blessing of the Holy Ghost.
