Good morning, my talk today is very rough, not very uplifting. But I suppose it needs to be said, thank you.

This message from Elder Ronnie Blair takes a fresh look at the familiar story of the prodigal son, shifting the focus from the son who wandered away to the love of the father who never stopped looking for him. Preaching from Luke 15, Elder Blair reminds us that Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost. The prodigal son demanded his inheritance, left home, wasted everything, and eventually found himself in a place of desperation. But in the middle of the mess, he came to himself. He realized what he had left behind and made the decision to arise and go back to his father. That picture of coming home carries a powerful message about salvation. Elder Blair shares from his own experience in 1973, when his life and home were in a desperate condition. He describes being drawn to the altar by the Holy Ghost, realizing he was lost and undone. Salvation does not come from rehearsing the right words or trying to work our way back to God. It comes through conviction, repentance, and faith in the sacrifice Jesus made for our sins. The father in Luke 15 was watching and waiting. When he saw his son coming from a great distance, he ran to meet him. The father did not stand back and demand an explanation. He had compassion, embraced his son, and welcomed him home. He did not dwell on the past. Instead, he called for the best robe, a ring, and shoes, and commanded that the fatted calf be prepared for a celebration. Elder Blair explains that the father’s actions reveal the heart of God toward a sinner who comes home. God’s grace is greater than our past, and when a sinner repents, there is joy in the presence of God. The church should rejoice when someone is saved rather than question whether they are worthy of God’s forgiveness. The message also turns to the elder son, who remained at home but became angry when his brother returned. His resentment reveals another danger: self-righteousness and an unwillingness to rejoice when God changes someone else’s life. Elder Blair challenges believers not to look at someone’s past and decide that they could never be saved. God can save to the uttermost and do what people consider impossible. Through stories from his ministry, including men who struggled with addiction and a man named Tom Horace whose salvation was questioned by others, Elder Blair shows that human opinions cannot cancel the work of God. When the Holy Spirit changes a life, the evidence will speak for itself. The message also challenges God’s people to worship Him freely. We do not come to church to impress people. We come to worship the One who saved us. There should be joy when the lost are found and the prodigal comes home. Elder Blair closes with a deeply personal testimony of God’s restoration in his own marriage and the faith of his wife during her final illness. Her willingness to trust God completely, whether He chose to heal her or call her home, became a lasting testimony of faith. Whether you feel far from God, are carrying a burden, or simply need to be reminded of His love, this sermon points back to the same truth: God knows you, God loves you, and the Father is still calling people home.

Et discessit ab illa angelus.John Sobieski, king of Poland, gained a great victory against the Turks under the walls of Vienna, which caused the Pope Innocent XI to make this Feast obligatory throughout the whole Western Church as a yearly act of thanksgiving for the deliverance of Christian Europe.

Paul encourages the believers at Corinth to prophecy instead of speak in tongues, a foreign concept to our charismatic churches today who often push speaking in tongues on believers. Paul tells the church at Corinth it is better for them to prophecy because they speak in a language that everyone understands and the entire congregation is built up instead of speaking in tongues and only the one speaking being edified. He explains to them the order, or the way they need to do these things so they do not create confusion, since God is a God of order and not confusion. And, Paul points out that when nonbelievers come into the meetings, their hearts will be exposed when people prophecy and they will be humbled before God!

What do you do when your spouse is difficult to love?Blessed Anna Maria Taigi became a wife, mother, mystic, and eventually a blessed of the Catholic Church—but she did not become holy by escaping family life. She became holy inside it.Her husband, Domenico, could be rough, demanding, and quick-tempered. Anna Maria had faults of her own. Marriage became one of the places where grace worked on both of them.This episode of Saints for the Struggle looks at the thousand ordinary battles of married life: arguments, resentment, money problems, exhaustion, children, criticism, unmet expectations, and the temptation to think, “If my spouse would just change, I could finally have peace.”But Christian marriage asks a harder question:What is God asking of me right now?Patience? Sermon Outline: "Go, Sow, and Grow: Your Purpose in the Marketplace" Preacher: Pastor Joe Robinson I. The Reality of the Modern Mission Field The Barna Research Shift: According to Barna Research, 46% of Americans identified as practicing Christians in the year 2000. By 2025, that number dropped to 24%. In today's marketplace, 3 out of 4 people encountered do not attend church. Facts vs. Truth: While statistics show declining church engagement in the natural, the spiritual truth remains supreme: believers hold the ultimate victory through Christ (Mark 16:15-20). Signs Following Believers: The Great Commission promises that signs, wonders, and healing will follow all believers who step out in faith—not just pastors or evangelists. II. The Core Process: Go, Sow, and Grow Going (Movement & Action): "Going" means advancing into your everyday sphere of influence—your workplace, neighborhood, schools, and daily routines (Acts 1:8). Sowing (Investing Truth & Value): Sowing requires active engagement with others through practical service, encouragement, and sharing the gospel. Growing (Kingdom Expansion): Growth happens both in individual spiritual maturity and in expanding the kingdom of God as fruit is produced over time. III. The Three Valued Pillars of Every Believer Pastor Joe invited "Dr. D" (Dr. Decker) to demonstrate how simple and accessible a 60-second elevator testimony can be, outlining three things every Christian must value and guard: Your Testimony: Your personal story of how Jesus saved you. It must be packaged simply so it can be shared concisely anywhere. Your Truth: The Word of God. Truth must be shared with love and humility; a "5-pound Bible with a 10-pound bad attitude" alienates people in the marketplace. Your Treasure: The spiritual wisdom, life convictions, and gifts placed inside your heart by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 4:7). IV. Seeing the Harvest & Embracing the "Whosoever" Lifting Your Eyes (John 4:35): Modern distractions (phones, social media, schedules) pull eyes downward. Have you ever wondered, “What is God's will for my life?” Christiansoften ask that question when facing major decisions. “Lord, whom should Imarry?” “Where should I live?” “What job should I take?” “What ministry shouldI pursue?” Certainly, we should seek God's guidance concerning those things. Buttoday Paul tells us something that is unmistakably God's will for everybeliever. First Thessalonians 4:3 says: “For this is the will of God, yoursanctification.” You don't have to wonder about this part of God's will. God'swill is that you and I become holy. The word sanctification means being setapart unto God. When we trusted Jesus Christ as our Savior, we belonged to Him.Now God is working in us so that our daily lives increasingly reflect thecharacter of Jesus Christ. Sanctification is both a position and a process. Wehave been set apart as God's people, and now throughout our lives He is makingus more like His Son. ThenPaul immediately applies sanctification to a very practical area. He says: “Thatyou should abstain from sexual immorality.” Thessalonica was part of theGreco-Roman world, where sexual immorality was common and often sociallyaccepted. These new believers had come out of that culture. Paul reminds themthat following Jesus meant they could no longer allow the culture around themto determine their standards. And that certainly speaks to us today. Ourculture may redefine morality. Society may call something acceptable that God'sWord calls sin. But God's standard has not changed. God created human sexualityas something beautiful and good within the boundaries He established for it. Theproblem isn't sexuality. The problem is taking God's gift outside of God'sdesign. ThenPaul says in verses 4 and 5: “That each of you should know how to possesshis own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like theGentiles who do not know God.” Whatever interpretive nuance we give theword “vessel,” Paul's central message is clear: A believer should exerciseself-control and live in holiness and honor. The world says, “If you desiresomething, pursue it.” Hallmark say, “Follow your heart.” The Bible says thatthrough God's grace and the power of the Holy Spirit, we don't have to becontrolled by our desires. FirstCorinthians 6:19 reminds us that our body is “the temple of the Holy Ghost.”Our bodies belong to God. Our minds belong to God. Our eyes belong to God. Ourrelationships belong to God. Everything about us should be surrendered to Him. Andnotice how Paul describes those who live only according to uncontrolledpassions: “The Gentiles who do not know God.” That is the difference. Weknow God. Because we know Him, we should live differently. Holinessisn't simply following a list of rules. Holiness grows out of a relationshipwith God. We love Him. We belong to Him. We want to honor Him. And therefore wedesire purity in our lives. Maybe someone listening today is struggling in thisarea. Remember, temptation itself is not defeat. Jesus Himself was tempted, yetwithout sin. When temptation comes, we can turn to God's Word, flee fromcompromising situations, guard what enters our minds, and depend upon the HolySpirit. And when we fail, we can confess our sin and receive God's cleansing. FirstJohn 1:9 promises: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just toforgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Sowhat is God's will for you today? Certainly, He has individual plans for yourlife. But one thing we know for sure: “This is the will of God, yoursanctification.” God wants us to become more like Jesus. Godbless, and may you have a wonderful, wonderful day!
