Heavenly Father wants me to learn. Our home can be holy like the temple. As you read Doctrine and Covenants 88:119 to your children, they could make a temple spire with their arms every time they hear the word “house.” Explain that Heavenly Father wanted Joseph Smith and the Saints to build a temple, or a “house of God.” You could ask your children to choose seven words that describe their home. Then help them find, in Doctrine and Covenants 88:119⁠, the seven words the Lord uses to describe His house. How can we make our home a “house of God”?

Nearly 200 years ago, Joseph Smith gave us a holistic code of health called the Word of Wisdom. But over the next century, we largely reduced that revelation to a list of don'ts—one that came to define us as a church and serve as a kind of status marker within the Church. As we look ahead to the next hundred years, we're asking: is it time to rethink how we see this revelation? Today, we face an overwhelming number of choices about what we put into our bodies—some deeply harmful, others profoundly nourishing—and we now understand far more about health, nutrition, and the body itself. Are there principles in section 89 that transcend the context in which it was given? What did we miss when we transformed it from a principle with promise to a set list of prohibitions that defined worthiness? Is our current approach a stumbling block as we take the gospel to people in other cultures? And what about that curious issue of hot drinks? That's the conversation we're having today with Bill Turnbull, one of the founders of Faith Matters, and Ali Essig, a nutritionist and founder of PlantWhys. Hey Baldhead Bible Friends,Today I am taking a short break from the Acts series and instead posting what I am preaching at the various camps I have the privilege of speaking at this summer. I am focusing on stories from the life of Jesus and challenging the kids with Jesus' call to radical discipleship. I recorded this first sermon while walking some of the trails at Trout Creek Bible Camp in Corbett, OR. In this first sermon, I challenge the kids to hear God's call to be a disciple and to "Come Follow Me." Turn to Luke 5 to follow along in your Bibles.

This podcast is a guided meditation and mindfulness reading that accompanies the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Come Follow Me curriculum. This podcast is broken up into 3 parts.
