Dr. Benjamin Hardy is an organizational psychologist, author, and speaker known for his work on the psychology of exponential growth and transformation. He has mastered a highly unique form of strategic psychology and is known for his ability to rapidly scale companies to seemingly impossible levels. The author of several books and cofounder of his rigorous scaling company, Scaling.com, Benjamin helps companies scale 10x or more within three years. His innovative psychological and strategic frameworks are unlike anything else in business right now and are seeking to disrupt both the fields of psychology and business. Benjamin and his wife Lauren have seven children and live in Orlando. Links The Science of Scaling: Grow Your Business Bigger and Faster Than You Think Possible Scaling.com/Audiobook Share your thoughts in the Leading Saints community Transcript coming soon Get 14-day access to the Core Leader Library Highlights Benjamin introduces the idea that setting ambitious goals can lead to more effective pathways for growth. He explains that when organizations aim for significantly higher targets—such as a tenfold increase in growth—they are compelled to streamline their efforts and eliminate unnecessary complexities. This principle is particularly relevant for church leaders who may feel constrained by traditional metrics of success. Benjamin emphasizes the importance of aligning daily actions with a higher purpose. He discusses the concept of "raising the floor," which refers to the necessity of letting go of lower standards and practices that no longer serve the organization's goals. By doing so, leaders can create a more focused and effective environment for achieving their objectives. The conversation also delves into the psychological aspects of goal-setting, highlighting how the future should shape present actions rather than being dictated by past performance. He shares a compelling story about an audacious missionary baptism goal and how adjusting adjusting and filtering ultimately achieved the goal—illustrating the power of high aspirations and the need for leaders to be willing to say no to less-impactful activities. Benjamin explores the challenges church leaders face in maintaining focus amidst competing priorities and discusses the tendency to add more initiatives rather than simplifying and prioritizing efforts. He encourages leaders to define clear, measurable goals that can guide their actions and decision-making processes, along with a call to embrace ambitious goals. By focusing on fewer, higher goals and raising their standards, leaders can unlock the potential within their wards and organizations, ultimately leading to greater success in their missions. 00:04:00 - Applying Scaling Principles to the Church 00:05:20 - The Goal Shapes the Path and System 00:05:50 - The Power of 10x Goals and Short Timelines 00:08:40 - Missionary Work as an Example of Scaling 00:10:50 - The Past and Future as Lenses for the Present 00:14:10 - Operating From the Goal, Not Toward It 00:14:40 - Raising the Floor and Saying No 00:15:30 - Blake's Missionary Experience and Filtering 00:19:40 - Overcoming the Influence of the Past in Organizations 00:21:50 - Simplicity vs. Complexity 00:23:10 - The Challenge of Too Many Goals in Church Councils 00:24:50 - Focusing on Key Priorities in Leadership 00:28:00 - Defining and Owning Roles in Church Leadership 00:28:50 - Understanding and Raising the Floor 00:31:30 - The Floor as a Standard of Accountability 00:33:30 - Avoiding Guilt from Too Many To-Dos 00:36:10 - Setting Clear, Numeric Goals 00:40:20 - The Future Shapes the Present 00:42:50 - Repentance and Reorienting Towards the Future 00:44:50 - Distancing from Past Self and Growth Mindset 00:48:50 - Measuring Impact and Qualitative vs. Quantitative Goals 00:53:00 - Accountability in Systems and Leadership

In this enlightening episode of Father and Joe, hosts Father Boniface and Joe Rockey tackle a common challenge faced in both missionary work and personal faith journeys: effectively communicating the vast benefits of attending Mass. Using the analogy of sales and products with multiple benefits, Joe introduces the idea that one needs to understand the needs of the person they're engaging with to convey the most relevant benefits. Just as eggs can be appreciated for various uses in meals, the benefits of Mass extend far beyond individual understanding, offering a unique and personalized spiritual experience to every attendee.Father Boniface steps in to explain the power of forming meaningful relationships, not just in sales but within the spectrum of evangelization and attending Mass. Our episode explores the concept of 'accompaniment,' where personal interaction and understanding play critical roles in spiritual guidance and evangelization. This approach helps parishioners form a deeper connection with the Mass, experiencing its full benefits uniquely tailored to their life stage and personal circumstances. We delve into the importance of fostering interior participation in Mass, where silence plays a crucial role. Father Boniface introduces practical ways to connect deeply with the Mass's proceedings, which is essential for transforming a routine obligation into an enriching personal journey filled with discovery and purpose.Additionally, we discuss overcoming the initial sensations of social awkwardness that some might feel when attending Mass, focusing on how to transition from merely going through the motions to actively engaging in a way that reveals Mass's transformative power. Discover how Mass is not just a weekly obligation but a profound means of receiving guidance, healing, and purpose throughout life's fluctuations.Join us as we explore creating moments in Mass that lead to spiritual growth by aligning personal experiences with the spiritual community and the central purpose of the Eucharist. Whether you're a devout parishioner or someone seeking to reengage with your faith, this conversation provides helpful insights to transform your relationship with Mass.Tags: Faith, Podcast, Mass Benefits, Personal Faith, Spiritual Growth, Eucharist, Sales Analogy, Evangelization, Accompaniment, Interior Participation, Spiritual Guidance, Overcoming Awkwardness, Father Boniface, Joe Rockey, Religious Experience, Church Community, Personalized Spirituality, Missionary Work, Transformation, Spiritual Wisdom, Theology, Catholic Church, Christian Faith, Building Relationships, Mass Engagement, Discovering Faith, Church Attendance, Meaningful Worship, Personalized Faith, Spiritual Fulfillment, Religious Obligations, Community Support, Guidance through Mass, Listening to God, Interior Silence, Growth through Faith, Christian Podcast, Spiritual Direction, Personal Connection, Catholic PodcastHashtags: #FaithJourney, #PodcastSeries, #MassBenefits, #SpiritualGrowth, #Eucharist, #SalesAnalogy, #Evangelization, #Accompaniment, #InteriorParticipation, #SpiritualGuidance, #OvercomingAwkwardness, #FatherBoniface, #JoeRockey, #ReligiousExperience, #ChurchCommunity, #PersonalizedSpirituality, #MissionaryWork, #Transformation, #SpiritualWisdom, #Theology, #CatholicChurch, #ChristianFaith, #BuildingRelationships, #MassEngagement, #DiscoveringFaith, #ChurchAttendance, #MeaningfulWorship, #PersonalizedFaith, #SpiritualFulfillment, #ReligiousObligations, #CommunitySupport, #GuidanceThroughMass, #ListeningToGod, #InteriorSilence, #GrowthThroughFaith, #ChristianPodcast, #SpiritualDirection, #PersonalConnection, #CatholicPodcastThis line is here to correct the site's formatting error.

This week we are learning about; The plan of happinessThe plan of salvationThe celestial kingdomThe afterlifeHeaven and hell“Great Shall Be Their Reward and Eternal Shall Be Their Glory”Doctrine and Covenants 76Before the gospel was restored on the earth, most Christians thought when we die, things were pretty black and white. There was just heaven or hell. Good people went to heaven and bad people went to hell. See? Black and white. Cut and dry. But can the entire human family really be divided into just good or bad? Joseph and Sidney were wondering about this when the Lord showed them a vision so stunning, so amazing, so illuminating that the Saints simply called it “the Vision.” Joseph smith learned that God is more merciful than just dividing people into two groups. Instead of there just being heaven and hell, there are different degrees or levels of heaven. The tellestial like the starsThe terrestrial like the moonAnd celestial like the sun! Ever since he was a boy, Joseph Smith faced critics—even enemies—as he tried to do God's work. But it must have been particularly difficult in late 1831 when Ezra Booth began publicly berating the Church, because in this case the critic was a former believer. Ezra had seen Joseph use God's power to heal a woman. He had been invited to accompany Joseph on the first survey of the land of Zion in Missouri. But he had since lost his faith and, in an attempt to discredit the Prophet, published a series of letters in an Ohio newspaper. And his efforts seemed to be working, because “unfriendly feelings … had developed against the Church” in the area (Doctrine and Covenants 71, section heading). What should believers do in a case like that? While there is not one right answer for every situation, it seems that often—including in this case in 1831—part of the Lord's answer is to declare the truth and correct falsehoods by “proclaiming [the] gospel” (verse 1). Yes, the Lord's work will always have critics, but in the end, “no weapon that is formed against [it] shall prosper” (verse 9).Ideas for Teaching ChildrenDoctrine and Covenants 71I can defend the truth by sharing my testimony.Doctrine and Covenants 72:2The Lord has called a bishop to help me.Doctrine and Covenants 75:3I can give my best effort to the Lord.

The Doctrine and Covenants is different from the Book of Mormon and bible, because it is not a translation of ancient documents; the Lord gave the revelations in D&C to His chosen prophets in our modern days in order to restore His kingdom. We learn all sorts of important things in the doctrine and covenants, like this week we learn kids should be baptized at the age of 8, we should center our homes around Jesus Christ, and that true and faithful friends help us follow Jesus Christ. “The Lord Requireth the Heart and a Willing Mind”Doctrine and Covenants 64–66Forgiveness Podcast Lesson for Kids Bullying Prevention Podcast for Kids Doctrine and Covenants 64:10Children will Learn: Jesus Christ wants us to forgive others.I Can Follow Jesus by ForgivingGod's “great work” is built on “small things.”In the miserable heat of August 1831, several elders were traveling back to Kirtland from the land of Zion in Missouri. The travelers were hot and weary, and tensions soon turned into quarrels. It may have seemed like building Zion, a city of love, unity, and peace, was going to take a long time.Fortunately, building Zion—in Missouri in 1831 or in our hearts, families, and wards today—doesn't require us to be perfect. Instead, “of you it is required to forgive,” the Lord said (Doctrine and Covenants 64:10). He requires “the heart and a willing mind” (verse 34). And He requires patience and diligence, for Zion is built on the foundation of “small things,” accomplished by those who do not become “weary in well-doing” (verse 33).You're listening to Come Follow Me Kids! In this enlightening episode of "Father and Joe," hosts Father Boniface Hicks and Joe Rockey delve into the profound world of papal encyclicals and their significance in modern society. The conversation explores the importance of taking the teachings of God and applying them to contemporary issues through the lens of encyclicals, all while understanding their hierarchy in relation to divine revelation found in the Bible.Father Boniface elaborates on how encyclicals are structured to build upon one another, providing a rich tapestry of Catholic doctrine that demands thoughtful engagement. The episode touches on various well-known encyclicals, including Pope Francis' "Laudato Si," and discusses the layered complexities and common misconceptions surrounding these papal documents. The hosts address the broader purpose of encyclicals, which is to teach and integrate theological insights into everyday life while steering clear of simplistic interpretations that can dilute their deeper meanings. The episode transitions into an engaging discussion about Pope Leo XIV, a figure distinguished by his unique blend of North American, Roman, and South American experiences. Father Boniface highlights how Pope Leo brings a global perspective to the papacy, traversing cultural and ecclesiastical divides. His diverse background in administration, pastoral ministry, and missionary work positions him as a "bridge builder" in a world often fragmented by tribalism.Listeners gain insight into the authoritative role of the Pope as the Vicar of Christ, tasked with teaching, governing, and sanctifying the Church. Father Boniface shares personal reflections and stories that illustrate the Pope's profound influence as a spiritual leader and teacher, continually shaping the Church's mission to nourish the faithful through authentic doctrine and the sacraments.Tune in to this episode for a rich, nuanced exploration of the papal role in guiding the Church, the layers within Church teachings, and how the humility and humanity of its leaders continue to inspire believers worldwide. The dialogue wraps up with an invitation for listeners to engage further by sharing their questions and feedback via email.Tags:Father Boniface, Joe Rockey, Catholic Church, Encyclicals, Papal Role, Spiritual Direction, Pope Leo XIV, Encyclical Hierarchy, Catholic Doctrine, Divine Revelation, Laudato Si, Rerum Novarum, Church Teachings, Pope Francis, Papal Authority, Vicar of Christ, Bridge Builder, Global Perspective, Catholic Podcast, Spiritual Insight, Theology, Faith Exploration, Spiritual Growth, Relationship with God, Missionary Work, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Orders, Augustinians, Church History, Canon Law, Universal Church, Pope as Teacher, Papal Influence, Moral Doctrine, Deepening Faith, Sacred Tradition, Biblical TeachingsHashtags:#FatherAndJoe, #CatholicPodcast, #Encyclicals, #ChurchTeachings, #PopeLeoXIV, #SpiritualDirection, #VicarOfChrist, #CatholicDoctrine, #DivineRevelation, #PapalAuthority, #LaudatoSi, #FaithJourney, #GlobalChurch, #TheologyTalk, #FaithAndLife, #ChristianPodcast, #PopeFrancis, #FaithExploration, #SpiritualGrowth, #PapalInsights, #CatholicFaith, #SpiritualWisdom, #DoctrineAndFaith, #BridgeBuilder, #Augustinians, #UniversalChurch, #MissionaryLife, #FaithInAction, #FaithAndCommunity, #SacredTradition, #FaithfulWitness, #BiblicalLearning, #MoralAuthority, #ChristianUnity, #PapalTeachings, #FaithDevelopment, #CommunityOfBelievers, #DeepeningFaith

This week we learn: These sections are full of mission calls and instructions from the Lord! Sections 30–36 focus on urging individuals to step up and share the gospel with enthusiasm and faith. This week we learn about preparing for the spiritual harvest and working together to bring others to Christ. It's a reminder that sharing the gospel brings joy, blessings, and the opportunity to make a real difference.I am called to be a witness of Jesus Christ.Whether or not you have a formal calling as a missionary, you can be a witness of Jesus Christ “at all times, and in all things, and in all places”If I build my life on the Savior's gospel, I will not fall.I should focus more on the things of God than the things of the earth.Parley P. Pratt had been a member of the Church for about a month when he was called “into the wilderness” to preach the gospel (Doctrine and Covenants 32:2). Thomas B. Marsh had been a member for even less time than that when he was told, “The hour of your mission is come” Orson Pratt, Edward Partridge, and many others had likewise barely been baptized when their mission calls came. Perhaps there's a lesson in this pattern for us today: if you know enough to accept the restored gospel by baptism, you know enough to share it with others.Fun podcast for kidsFun Book of Mormon podcast for kids Game podcast

Armor of God podcast for KidsArmor of God podcast for childrenAll Things Must Be Done in Order”Doctrine and Covenants 27–28The armor of god is what this episode mainly focuses on. Revelation was still a relatively new concept for the Saints as the Restoration continued to unfold. Early Church members knew that the Prophet Joseph Smith could receive revelation for the Church. But could others? Questions like this became critical when Hiram Page, one of the Eight Witnesses of the gold plates, believed he had received revelations for the Church. Many faithful Saints believed that these revelations were from God. The Lord responded by teaching that in His Church “all things must be done in order” (Doctrine and Covenants 28:13). This week we will learn this story and learn that only the prophet can receive revelation for the church. The scriptures teach that we should put on the “whole armor” of God (see Ephesians 6:11–18 and D&C 27:15–18). When we study the scriptures and pray, it's like we put on armor that helps keep us safe.Helmet of SalvationA helmet protects the head. We keep our mind safe when we follow Jesus and do what He wants us to do.Shield of FaithFaith in Jesus Christ is like a shield of protection.
