Not all pieces of art are the same. They are not all happy or all sad. We do not create art that looks exactly the same. Africa is an experience that Bethany and Joshua have in common. Joshua was born in Kenya and lived there for nearly 10 years. He has also returned on many occasions with the last visit being a 3-month stay in Uganda and Kenya. Bethany also lived in Africa for 8 months but her time was spend in Togo on the west coast of the continent. Bethany's and Joshua's experiences in Africa were varied as the continent itself is. One thing that both Bethany and Joshua have in common in their art is portrait painting. Joshua was specifically trained in classical portrait painting and Bethany has gravitated toward portraits because of her love of people and community.
