Monthly dance cast focusing on new music in the electronic dance world. Casts will mainly center around trance and electro house music, with occasional jaunts into other genres.
For this month's guest mix I decided to go with something submitted to me by "Eatofo" from the /r/trance reddit page. Very solid mix revolving around some really exciting music of late.Hope you enjoy this month's guest mix, and keep posted for the next full episode of Cosmic Pulse which should be out right on time June 1st!Eatofo:This was put together between studying so it's not perfect but I wanted to showcase the different styles of trance I love. The first 2 tracks being being 130BPM melodic trancers. Next is 2 "pure trance" tracks by legitimate trance legends. Starting to up the pace with some darker sounds in "Go". I love Chris Schweizer and this remix is very similar to The Conquest but I'll allow it this once. Next up is Wezz Devall's dope remix of the excellent Diamond Hell. The pace quickens again (by accidentally hitting the fx button, apologies for that) with Scotland's most promising talent, Will Atkinson. Now, we've moved up to 140BPM and have the euphoric sounds of Daniel Kandi before moving into 2 tracks of mayhem. Hope you enjoy, and feedback is always welcome. Here it is! A few days early! Episode 6!Sorry about last month. I realized two things; 1 I don't have the spare cash to be buying enough tracks to make two mixes a month....#i'mtoopoor and 2 episode 5 part 2 was a complete failure because it felt rushed. Didn't have the tracks I felt would make it good. Here in episode 6 I'm definitely happy with how it worked out. Had some free time today after studying, and sat down, hit record and mixed it all on the fly. Mostly new tracks from artists like Above and Beyond, Tritonal, Parker & Hanson, Sonic Element, and Omnia & Ira. See mixcloud link for full tracklist. And the new addition of "Kyle Martin All Time Fave" will be one track each month that's one of my all time favorites.Decided that I will do 1 hour or more mix per month and 1 guest mix per month. That way at least you have some more content to look forward to throughout the month.Track Listing:Murmuration (Original Mix)By Naden1Sirens (Original Mix)By Erick Strong2Sun & Moon Feat. Apparently its April fools, I promised a two hour mix and only came through with an hour and 15ish. My bad, thought I got enough new tracks this month to fill a two hour set...I did not... So I'll be back later in the month with Episode 5 part 2.This episode has a bunch of tracks that really excite me. "Last Day on Earth" by Michael Woods has been stuck in my head for days now. Obviously I had to play "Invasion" after just coming back from ASOT 550. Another great track in there is by Sean Tyas entitled "Rebox," its a great pounding track that isn't his usual style all I can say is "Pump It!" The set starts off kinda trancy, moves towards house / electro, then back to trance for a finish with "J'ai Envie De Toi," another great song by Armin Van Buuren under his Gaia alias.Anyway here it is, as always please send your comments, suggestions, questions, or complaints. hope you enjoy! Not the usual tunes for the Cosmic Pulse Dance Cast, but I'd like to introduce a guest DJ for this update. DJ Dev, PA is an aspiring DJ who dabbles with house, hip-hop, and the occasional trance track. Inspired by my recent trip to Ultrafest, he decided to put this mix together, and it ain't that bad at all!Stay tuned for the April edition of Cosmic Pulse, which will be the beginning of my new episode format. This format will consist of either a two hour trance mix (of course highlighting the newest tracks), or an hour of trance and an hour of electro / house. I figured there was just too much good music coming out each month to limit each episode to an hour.Enjoy "Club Scene" by DJ Dev, PADirect Download (Right Click Save As)Cosmic Pulse Guest Mix by Kyle Martin on Mixcloud
Another filler mix while we wait for next months new one. This is a tribute mix I made a while back for DJ Kristoff when I heard that he was going to retire. Its a two hour set full of my personal favorites as well as many of my favorites of his.EnjoyDownload Episode 4 (right click save as)
Hello and welcome to the Cosmic Pulse Dance Cast! This is episode 1 of what I hope to continue as a monthly series showcasing the latest in electronic dance music. This first episode is composed of mostly trance with a few electro tracks mixed in towards the end. Between monthly episodes I will likely be posting updates on DJ's, events, and new tracks of note from some of the best DJ's and producers around. Feel free to add questions, comments, complaints, whatever you like.Enjoy episode 1 of the Cosmic Pulse!Cosmic Pulse Vol: 1 by Kyle Martin on Mixcloud
Episode 2Just checking to see how things are running. No new material yet, but I'm working on a mix for a mix contest hosted by reddit in the trance sub-reddit. Here in episode 2 we have an old mix from back in my vinyl record days circa 2003 when I was known as DJ Dex. The mix was entitled "happiness in hell," I did the mix so long ago that I don't know the full tracklist off the top of my head and would have to dig through my vinyl which isn't in the same state as me right now. It includes many classic tracks from the late 90's and early 00's. Hope you enjoy and stay tuned for episode 3 which should be up by the end of the weekend.Download Episode 2 Here (right click save as)In other news, had the chance to catch Gabriel & Dresden this past Friday at Pacha in NYC. Great show! They played for almost three hours which for the ticket price (25 bucks) was a crazy deal. Their set was similar to the one played at Electric Zoo 2011, but was still a great time and a great precursor to the upcoming Ultrafest.
I guess it was less of a wait than I expected. Had some free time and hooked up my mix for the reddit - trance contest. Definitely getting my stride back, mixing smoother than I was earlier this year when I decided to get back into it. Still not where I want to be, but on my way at least. You can listen via the embeded mixcloud player, directely download, or subscribe to the podcast. I'd suggest doing it through iTunes found on the link over yonder ---->Right now planning on waiting till April for the next episode. Got some busy stuff coming up over the next few weeks, including a trip to Miami for Ultrafest, but that'll mean the April episode will full of crazy new tracks. Between now and then I'll likely post an old mix of mine, or possibly a special guest DJ. Till then, enjoy!Download Cosmic Pulse Episode 3 (right click save as)Cosmic Pulse Episode 3 by Kyle Martin on Mixcloud
