I encourage you to give this seven minute speech a listen: The Sixteenth Second.Kyle Martin, a 2019 high school graduate, gives a powerful commencement address to his fellow graduating class. He put in a ton of work to accomplish being number one, but he reflects honestly on what it cost him. He learned a lesson early that should define his goals and the costs he is willing to pay in his life. Some of us have long past the age of 19, but maybe this is a lesson we need to learn as well. Before we get to that, I'd love to tell you about a speech I was thankful to give to a group of High School students this past Friday night. God wants them, and you, to be filled and sealed with the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with Him, He makes us strong enough to stand the weight of the devil. And we can be prepared to pour the Spirit's goodness into the lives of others. This is God's will for our lives. May nothing else be allowed to rob us of this beautiful work of love and service.- Why is a strong relationship with the Spirit needful to be strong in the face of trial?- Why is connection with the Spirit necessary to be a light in the lives of others?- Do we sometimes devote our lives to things that cost us our greatest mission?- Are you comfortable with accepting God's great mission for your life?- How can we live so that we will never regret "the sixteenth second"?

Today we are talking with the very talented Margaret Brown about her latest documentary, Descendant. On July 9, 1860, more than 100 captive Africans were brought to the shores of Mobile, Alabama, on a ship named the Clotilda, under cover of darkness. The international slave trade had been made illegal in the US in 1808, but human trafficker Timothy Meaher made a bet that he could get around the law with his ship. Today, the residents of Africatown, just north of Mobile, count the Clotilda survivors among their ancestors. The documentary Descendant, brings their stories to light as they grapple with a growing spotlight on their community following the discovery of the sunken Clotilda. The film shows how events that unfolded more than a century ago continue to have lasting repercussions several generations later.Brown produced the film alongside Kyle Martin and Essie Chambers for Participant and Take One Five Entertainment. The film premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, where it was picked up by Higher Ground Productions and Netflix for theatrical and streaming distribution. The film was shortlisted for the 2023 Academy Awards, and you can watch it now on NETFLIX. The film currently has a perfect 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Descendant was released to select theaters and on Netflix on October 21, 2022.Descendant Trailer: YouTubeDescendant WebsiteYou can also keep up with Africatown via the Clotilda Descendants Association. A number of the subjects featured in Descendant are quoted in this Smithsonian article, which details the search for the wreckage of the Clotilda. You can help Africatown's community organizations preserve the legacy of their ancestors, combat environmental injustice and spur economic transformation. People often make comparisons between reef tanks and planted vivariums due to their complexity and beauty. They both require substantial care and effort, yet despite their many challenges, they ultimately reward the keeper with a perfect slice of the natural world. This week I am joined by reef aquarist turned dart frog breeder, Kyle Martin. Kyle and I discuss his transition from keeping reef aquariums to dart frogs and how he used his aquarist skill set to be successful with both. Luke 10:2 says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” I read this information and much of it I had seen before in the last couple of months. HOWEVER! There is important information in this message that should ignite us all to carry out The Great Commission! My goodness, we are so very divided not only politically in this country, but in what we beleive in, God? Nothing? We will never achieve unity until we all come to JESUS. I have said for years, and still say today, politics is Satan's workshop! LOOK WHAT HE HAS DONE! Satan has divided our country in so very many ways, INCLUDING the Church! WE ARE A MESS! SEX ABUSE IS A HUGE PROBLEM IN TOO MANY CHURCHES! And you think people want to join a Church? You cannot hide from that stink! Too many made politics and politicians a god. EVEN PASTORS!!! So many pastors and congregants show an unbelieving world just what it wants to see, BAD BEHAVIOR! Too many pastors love to preach to the choir and not leave the building and hit the streets for JESUS! We are losing. Years ago I witnessed excellent on the street ministry by Pastor's Kyle Martin and John Lay. They would hit the streets of Dallas and talk to people one on one. They also would do ‘man of the street' interviews and play them back on KKIM Christian radio. Kyle and John would build bridges of love and trust with folks and then talk to them about JESUS! This is when both of them were with ‘Time to Revive' out of Dallas, Kyle is still TTR, he is the founder, and John is now the Pastor of the Church on the Hill in Mesquite, Texas. I learned much from those two, I also took part in revivals with them in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and in Asheville, NC. It was like going to seminary, I learned so much! I also served on the TTR Board of Directors for a few years before God founded FGGAM, 10 years ago this August! Thank you LORD for the education! Thank you Pastor's Kyle Martin and John Lay! You taught me THE GREAT COMMISSION!

Matt Lape was able to start week seven off with a great Illinois ten point. We knew after the last podcast that Luke Brazzle was so close on his #1 hitlist buck. He was able to seal the deal on his third encounter, and talk about a freak whitetail buck. Nic Chambers thinks poachers may have got his #1 hitlister as they've found a couple dead deer with missing heads on the property. Kansas was on fire this last week and just today Kyle Martin put down a great buck as well and will be on the week 8 podcast.
Here's a wrap up of our week 3 deer season with Chance Karhliker, Kyle Martin, and Chris Walker. We had some great encounters, but the best is yet to come. Things are starting to heat up and the temperatures are finally dropping. Lord willing the farmers will get their crops out sooner than later and will really help open the flood gates of those mature bucks that have been hiding.
Kyle’s passion to bring personal and community awakening to the nation began during his undergraduate studies at Taylor University. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and went on to earn a Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. He completed his Doctorate degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, specializing in Outreach and Discipleship. Kyle’s unique desire is to engage people with the Gospel directly in their own environment, as well as through media and public speaking. He believes there is hope for the nation, and it begins with prayer, as well as stepping out into the community to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since the Dallas Revival in 2007, he has seen individuals, congregations, and communities transformed by the Holy Spirit. His affection for Ace Hardware has caused many detours in his team’s travels. When he isn't traveling, Kyle can be found having fun with his family. He is a loving husband to Laura, and devoted father to their four children: Maya, Nadia, Selah, and Jude. Kyle joins us for the third night of Chasing God: This New Life. During this message, he explores what it means to walk in the Spirit. FULL SERVICE
