Time is precious to Ben McCollum right now as he begins his new job as the Iowa men's basketball coach.He has a roster to build almost from scratch, and a family to move from Waukee to Iowa City, so we appreciate that he took some time on Wednesday to make a guest appearance on the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast, the first of what we hope is many.McCollum addressed multiple topics during his 15-minute interview, which starts at the beginning of the 90-minute podcast.
Former Iowa basketball player Payton Sandfort made his second guest appearance on the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast on Friday.Payton also appeared as a guest during this past season, and it was such a good interview that we invited him back by popular demand.Payton goes into detail about all the physical ailments he suffered through this season, and he also addresses his future, which will soon include having surgery on both shoulders about six weeks apart.Payton said his recovery will take about six months, but he is confident that he will land at least a two-way deal with an NBA team.
