Breaking news from the White House. President Donald Trump said he intends to nominate Kevin Warsh to be the next chair of the Federal Reserve, according to a post on his Truth Social platform. “I have known Kevin for a long period of time, and have no doubt that he will go down as one of the GREAT Fed Chairmen, maybe the best,” Trump wrote. “On top of everything else, he is ‘central casting,’ and he will never let you down.” Warsh, who served on the US central bank’s Board of Governors from 2006 to 2011 and has previously advised Trump on economic policy, would succeed Jerome Powell when his term at the helm ends in May. It marks a comeback for Warsh, 55, whom the president passed over for the top job in 2017 when he selected Powell. If confirmed by the Senate, the former Fed governor will take charge of US monetary policy at a time when many economists and investors see its traditional insulation from elected officials as being under threat from the White House. USC's defensive coordinator search came to an official close on Friday with the hiring of Gary Patterson, the former TCU head coach. Patterson was seen as the clear leader for the job over the course of the last several days.  Above you catch watch the Instant Reaction from USCFootball.com analyst Chris Trevino and Shotgun Spratling.  Patterson went 181-79 as head coach of TCU, and he was the Horned Frogs' defensive coordinator for three years before taking over as head coach. "As a Hall of Fame coach, who is one of the game's most highly regarded defensive minds, he brings a wealth of success and experience to our program. BSJ's Greg Bedard joins CLNS Media's John Zannis as they react to the Patriots 16-3 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round on Sunday Night Football. While it wasn't Drake Maye's best performance in the young QBs playoff debut he finished the game 17-29, for 268 Yards with 1 Passing TD and an Interception, but where Maye might have had the biggest impact was on the ground with his legs. As Maye finished the game as the Patriots leading rusher going for 66 Yards on 10 attempts. While the offense might not have been pretty tonight it was the defense who stepped up big tonight allowing just 3 points in the game and recording 6 sacks on Chargers Quarterback Justin Herbert. The Patriots defense allowed just 207 Total Yards of offense and is a big reason why they are moving onto the Divisional Round where they will host the winner of Monday Nights Steelers-Texans game.
