As Christian entrepreneurs we have been given the privilege of creating businesses that solve problems, create jobs, and ultimately shape culture. This cannot, and will not happen if we are not successful. I'm Kevin Scoggin and I am on a mission to teach you the mindsets, habits, and sales strategies you need to build a wildly successful business. In the final episode of the Kingdom B School podcast I share 3 takeaways from a recent conference as well as what's next for Kingdom B School.
To succeed as an entrepreneur is to confront and overcome resistance day after day.If you have read any of Steven Pressfield's books then you understand that, "Resistance is not a peripheral opponent. Resistance arises from within. It is self-generated and self-perpetuated. Resistance is the enemy within."Wouldn't it be nice if we had the exact formula to identify and overcome this resistance? This week on the show I had the privilege of having a conversation with Adam Flores.Adam is the CEO of The Dream Factory Co which specializes in helping entrepreneurs build, scale, and launch their brand. In our conversation, Adam shares a powerful framework to help the Christian entrepreneur identify the 4 most common types of resistance and how break through.Get ready to take some notes, this was a fun one! Give Adam a follow @adamimobflores
One of the beautiful things about being an entrepreneur is that there truly are no limits to what you can create. One of the challenges of being an entrepreneur is moving beyond our own limiting thinking so that we can actually see what's possible. This week on the show, I sat down with Beau Blankenship. Beau is a killer real estate agent in Florida. Last year alone, he and his team sold over $241m worth of real estate.
My family and I just got back from a week at the beach. If I am being honest, this trip represents a significant milestone in my business. It's the first time in 4 years I was able to take a vacation and my business continued to run smoothly. In fact, I came home to over $20k in commission checks all while I was at the beach with my fam. This recent experience got me to thinking...what does it actually mean to be an entrepreneur? Does it mean that you just have a side-hustle or own your own business? What's the difference between being an entrepreneur and self-employed? This week on the show I unpack the #1 distinction of true entrepreneurs by looking at the life of Moses.
The reality is on any given day as an entrepreneur you are faced with no fewer than a million decisions to make. Naturally some of these are big, while others not so much. The ability to make decisions confidently (and sometimes quickly) is a critical skill for the 21st century entrepreneur. The decision making process can be hard enough as it is, yet as believers we tend to add an extra layer of complication to this already difficult process. We fear missing God. We worry that a decision might lead us outside of His will. We fear sinning. While these feelings may come from a good place, they can paralyze us when it comes to making bigger decisions. On today's episode I uncover why we struggle to make decisions and what to do about it. I will be sharing a personal story where I agonized over whether or not I was making the right decision.
Imagine having crystal clarity on the business called has called you to build and the people He has called you to serve. What would it feel like to finally be free from feeling weird and icky about money? How could knowing the formula for guaranteed success change things for you?I would like to officially introduce you to our newest digital course The 6 Figure Framework. In today's episode I will be breaking down the course by answers 3 specific questions:Why invest in paid mentorship and coaching when there is so much free information out there? Is there something magical about making 6 figures? How do I know if The 6 Figure Framework is for me?For more information and to enroll, please visit www.kingdombschool.com/sixfigureframework
This week on the show I got to sit down with Daniel Kwak of the Kwak Brothers.Daniel loves Jesus, is a husband, and serial entrepreneur.Daniel cut his teeth in the business world by investing in real estate. After years of failure and setbacks Daniel worked his way to 83 rental doors by the age of 23.Daniel and his brother now teach others how to create wealth and discover financial freedom through investing in real estate. Do you ever wonder what it really takes to be successful? Does it require a favorable economic climate? Your preferred candidate in office? If you are like most people when it comes to the topic of money, things can get a little uncomfortable. I've found that while a small number of people feel powerful and confident with money, the vast majority fall somewhere between I want more of it and I am not sure what to do with it once I have it. This week on the show I got to sit down with Dr. Jeff Anzalone who is also know as The Debt Free Doctor. Dr. Anzalone is a periodontist who started The Debt Free Doctor to teach others how to secure their financial future. For more information, follow us on Instagram @kevin.scoggin.
Do you ever wonder what it really takes to be wildly successful? I've found that often times it can be easy to look at successful, wealthy people and be mystified as to how they really got there. Typically a part of us- our insecure part- wants to write off other's success as either luck or inheritance. This week on the show I want to demystify success by taking you into a recent conversation I had with a mentor of mine. This mentor is an unbelievable husband and father, loves Jesus a ton, and just broke $1m of personal revenue in his own business in a calendar year.In the episode I share some of the things he told me, a few of my big aha's, and ultimately how you can achieve a wild amount of success in 2021 for yourself.
I cannot think of a better way to wrap of 2020 than my recent conversation with Jeremie Kubicek!Jeremie is a husband, father, CEO, author, speaker, and what he calls a “liberator”.Perhaps more inspiring than the level of success Jeremie has achieved, is his heart for impacting and liberating emerging entrepreneurs and leaders. In this week’s episode we talk habits, mindsets, and a mental framework that is critical for the Kingdom entrepreneur.I’m convinced that one of Jeremie’s favorite mindsets- who says you can’t?- is the perfect slogan for 2021!Also, in this episode I share the name of the e-course I will be launching in 2021!For more information and be sure and follow us on Instagram @kevin.scoggin
How does the idea of hearing the voice of God for your business make you feel? What about just hearing the voice of God in general- does it feel mystical, scary, confusing, or perhaps even difficult?Depending on your background and experiences this idea might hit you differently. A few weeks ago, on episode 26 I shared how learning to hear the voice of God for your business is your secret weapon as a Christian entrepreneur. While I did share some tips and tricks I didn't get into the nuts and bolts of hearing God. That's why I am SO excited about the episode that dropped today. This week on the show I sat down with Parker Lowe to unpack how exactly to hear the voice of God for your business.Parker is a good friend and killer entrepreneur and carries the value of hearing the voice of God very deeply.I'm believing this conversation will take your relationship with the Lord to the next level!
Imagine if someone offered to give you the formula for guaranteed success in any area of your life.Would you believe them? Perhaps you would wonder if it were to good to be true? What would such a formula cost if it did exist?I know, I know this is all a little dramatic, however, that's exactly what I plan to do on this week's episode. If you were to study the top achievers, performers, movers and shakers in any industry you would find they all operate with this exact same formula. More than a formula, it's a framework that if understood and embodied can truly change any area of your life in dramatic ways. Buckle up for this one, it's going to be fun! Have you ever taken the time to examine your beliefs and emotions around money? Unless you were raised in a perfect home, with perfect parents, chances are that you have money trauma on some level. If we are honest, most of us fall somewhere between we love it and we hate it, we want it but feel bad about wanting it, and when we get it we feel slightly guilty and aren't quite sure what to do with it. Simply put, money can be just big a big ball of weird emotions and beliefs. This is specifically true for the believer, and it's a problem. Especially if you are trying to build a profitable business. On this week's episode I talk about what money is and is not, why we get tripped up as believers, and some practical steps to start healing our money mindset so that we can earn more, save more, and give more! Did you know that as Christian entrepreneurs we have a secret weapon? This weapon has been used not only by the heroes of the Bible, but by countless Kingdom entrepreneurs throughout history. It's the one thing that completely sets us apart as business builders. It's the one thing that cannot be replicated by the world. This secret weapon changed everything for my business two years ago...and just might be the very thing that changes everything for you as well!On today's episode I reveal the Christian entrepreneur's secret weapon, how to access it, and how to leverage it to transform your business. Every once in awhile you come across a rare individual whose story is equal parts captivating and convicting, inspiring and encouraging. That was exactly what I thought when I had lunch with Kelli Masters for the first time nearly two years ago.I feel privileged to be able to introduce you to Kelli and her story on this episode.Kelli Masters is a mom, attorney, NFL sports agent, author, speaker, and founder of KMM sports. She felt a clear call from God to build a career and a business in an industry that has historically been dominated by men. Though it was far from easy, and took longer than she would have liked, she has found a way to succeed against all odds.In our conversation Kelli not only shares her story, but a few habits and mindsets that have made all the difference for her and I am so excited for you to hear. This one is a note take, so get ready! For more information on Kingdom B School, be sure and give us a follow on Instagram @kevin.scoggin.
I’m so excited (and slightly nervous) for you to listen to this week's episode! You read that title correctly and I truly am so grateful to bring you in on what has been going on in my business, what the Lord has been teaching me, and the one mindset I adopted 2 years ago that directly lead to me making 6-figures in just 30 days. Buckle up, it's going to be fun! For more info follow us on the gram @kevin.scoggin.
What does the life of an entrepreneur look like? A quick scroll through your Facebook feed would suggest it's all about getting into your lambo, or onto your private jet, or lounging on the beach with your phone in hand that you used to build your 7-figure empire. Is this reality? These ads and images may seem harmless, inspiring even of what's possible. Yet, without even realizing it, these images are influencing our subconscious minds and sabotaging our success. This week on the show I unpack a mindset that is crucial if you want to make it for the long haul in business. For more info give us on a follow on the gram @kevin.scoggin.
In a lot of ways this feels like the most important episode I have produced so far. I have spent the past few weeks taking the time to ask myself some hard questions. The two most pressing questions for me were, "where is this podcast headed?" and "who am I intending to serve?" After months of producing content I really couldn't answer those questions. Sure I was aiming to "equip" and "inspire" but at the end of the day that language is clever- it's not clear. And because of that I felt the message burning inside of me was being diluted. In this episode, I unpack that process a little more for you and will be revealing where the Kingdom B School train is headed. I'm excited for you to listen! For more information and content be sure and follow us on the gram @kevin.scoggin.
Wow, my conversation with Heather was an absolute blast! Heather is a wife, mother, and serial entrepreneur. She has built multiple 7+ figure businesses online and now coaches 5 figure female entrepreneurs helping them breakthrough mindset barriers to take their business to the next level. My conversation with Heather covers lots of fun topics including: orphan spirit, money mindset, the critical importance of intimacy with the Lord, building your business God’s way and so much more. At the end Heather recommends some powerful, but unexpected, resources. To connect with Heather and her coaching program she can be found on Facebook or Instagram as “Heather Shriver Burns” or online at www.heathershriverburns.com.
Clarence and his wife Alicia are the lead pastors of Antioch Community Church in Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to leading a thriving local church, Clarence is the founder and lead visionary for the Stronger Together Movement. Our conversation centered around two topics that are crucial for the Kingdom entrepreneur: knowing your assignment and prayer. Our X factor as believers is our ability to communicate with the God of the universe, yet I think if we were honest, most of us would say that our prayer life is weak or non-existent. Clarence and I dive into these topics where Clarence will share not only some powerful stories but some practical tips as well in how you can grow in your communication with the Father. If you would like to connect with Clarence and what he is doing you can find him online at www.clarencehilljr.com.
The #1 enemy of the entrepreneur isn't lack of capital, low sales, or even your competition. The #1 enemy you face every single day is distraction. This week on the show I discuss how using the ancient and simple skill of focus can take our business to the next level. I will share some small things I have been doing that have made a BIG difference. For more information give us a follow on Instagram @kingdombschool.
On this episode I had the privilege of sitting down with Wes Lane to explore the intentionality of God in the marketplaces of our lives. Wes is the former district attorney of Oklahoma county and now leads Salt and Light Leadership Training (SALLT). SALLT exists to equip and inspire local business leaders and entrepreneurs to become the solution to the challenges of our city. Wes's insight into what it actually means to walk with the God of the impossible is both inspiring and convicting. It was an honor to have him on the show and I am excited for you to hear! This week on the show I continue unpacking an idea that I started in episode 15. That episode was entitled "Uniquely Positioned" and was about the difference between our calling and our assignment and how God uses one to prepare us for the other. This week on the show I run with that idea a little further and explain how it's really not about what you are doing right now at all...For more info, give us a follow on Instagram @kingdombschool.
Your business is a direct reflection of your mindset. On some level we understand this. We have heard it before. Mindset is sort of a buzzword these days. But how do we actually change it? This week on the show we tackle that exact topic. I got to sit down with Brady Duke. Brady spent 9 years as a member of one of our nations most elite military units. As a former Navy SEAL, Brady has learned a thing or two about overcoming hardship and how your mindset can either make or break you in whatever you are doing. Now a husband, father of 4, and entrepreneur Brady is taking what he learned during his time on the teams and helping others implement the critical mentalities and mindset shifts necessary for success both in business and in life.
Do you find yourself in a season where what you are doing from day to day isn't necessarily what you feel called to or created for? Are you frustrated and discouraged because you just aren't quite where you thought you would be by now? If that's you, take heart because God is uniquely positioning you to step into your calling and make an impact. Join me this week on the show as I unpack the difference between your calling and your assignment and what they mean for us as kingdom entrepreneurs.
Much like myself, Mark Goering is a former youth pastor turned entrepreneur. Mark is skilled in helping entrepreneurs clarify their message so that they are able to connect with their ideal client. In addition to running his digital marketing agency, Frontier Creative, Mark and his wife Megan are passionate about equipping the body of Christ to fulfill the great commission through discipleship. Our conversation covers a range of topics including excellence in the marketplace, discipleship, and perhaps my favorite, what it actually means to be a Kingdom entrepreneur. We are reminded in this conversation that as believers first, we cannot be afraid to live loudly. Do you feel like you are on a hamster wheel in your business? Do you ever feel like a slave to the business you are building? Like your business owns you instead of you owning your business? Jimmy and Brooke felt that our traditional system of education in American was lacking when it comes to instilling the types of qualities that make our children learners and ultimately leaders. Instead of complaining about the problem, they decided to go on their own hero’s journey and solve the it. Not only are Jimmy and Brooke Ogle accomplished entrepreneurs in their own right, but they are amazing parents who deeply value cultivating an entrepreneurial spirit in their children. This was the focus of our conversation. If you are a parent, or plan to be one someday, then get out a pen and paper and get ready to take some notes. We talk about how rescuing our children can rob them of a learning experience that could set them up for long term success. We also cover topics like bed time, allowances, and the importance of creating an environment where your children can learn to take responsibility for their actions. I was so challenged and inspired by our conversation. Enjoy. For more information check us out at www.kingdombschool.com.
This week on the show I unpack one of the #1 dangers we face as kingdom entrepreneurs as our businesses grow and we start finding a measure of success. Join me as I take you into a situation I faced about a month ago where I grappled with this exact danger and what I did about it. P.S. Have you snagged me e-book yet? The book explores the 3 mindsets that took me from the brink of failure to a 6-figure business in a year. You can download that here. For more info, check us out at www.kingdombschool.com.
Wow! What a fun conversation I had with Ashley Kennedy. She and her family are currently church planting in Cape Town, South Africa. But before they left the states back in 2012, they launched a local restaurant with the mission of “Eat Well, Do Good”. Since that time, Syrup Breakfast Boutique has grown to two locations with over 50 employees. Ashley and her husband Jason carry a faith that is both convicting and refreshing. They aren’t afraid to fail and they aren’t afraid to take massive risks. They have been in some sticky situations on more than one occasion, as you will hear, and yet, God has come through every single time. Their secret to success is immediate obedience to the voice of God every time, no matter what. You may want to grab a pen and paper to take some notes as you enjoy this wide ranging conversation. I think one of the absolute most difficult things for entrepreneurs to learn to do is enjoy the journey. Maybe it’s because we are type A. Perhaps it’s because we don’t really see the value in slowing down and “smelling the roses” so to speak. Or maybe it’s just because we literally don’t know how. Can you relate? On this episode I deep dive into this topic and take you into a conversation I recently had with my wife where this came up and hit me like a ton of bricks. I’m convinced that cultivating the skill of appreciating the journey is one of the single most mentally and emotionally healthy things that we can do for ourselves to ensure that we make it for the long haul in business. I’m excited for you to give it a listen! For more information check us out at www.kingdombschool.com or give us a follow on Instagram @kingdombschool!
It’s easy to place limits on what we think is possible for our lives and businesses. It’s always challenging and inspiring to come across someone who sees those limits, rolls up their sleeves, and gets to work anyway. Meet Beau Bennett. Beau is a 15 year old who has been running his own business since he was only 9 years old. Less than a year ago, he switched directions and launched a custom shoe design business. Not even a year into his business and he has already designed a pair of shoes for an NBA player. Yes you read that correctly. This was such a fun conversation! It was inspiring to hear a teenager’s perspective on building a business. He shares some incredible insight into how his parents have come alongside him in practical ways to help steward the gifts and desires God has placed in his heart toward art and business. If you are a parent, or a teenager, this episode is a must listen! You actually do have time. Stop telling yourself you don’t. It’s a lie. That lie nearly prevented me from starting Kingdom B School. It’s the mentality of a victim. It doesn’t mean you might not have to give some things up - sleeping in on the weekends, Netflix, scrolling, or that hour long lunch you take. It’s time to let go of that lie, and take the time to identify what do you really want? What are you really called to? What greatness has God put inside of you that is longing to get out? Join me this week on the Kingdom B School podcast as I share a new mental framework that has unlocked time I’m my day I didn’t know I had! Chad Jordan is the founder of Cornerstone International, a boutique consulting firm, and Arrow Global Capital, a non-profit investment intermediary. Chad was raised by two entrepreneurial parents who instilled in him an understanding of and value for business at a young age. His businesses now have global impact by investing in the proven emerging market job creators. Our conversation is wide ranging and explores what wealth, influence, and success look like as a believer and an entrepreneur. Your mentality matters. Like really, really matters. It affects everything you do in life. From your family, to your finances, to the business you are building. It’s the context that everything else functions through and around. In this episode I will explore a few ways to align our mentality with what God is saying for your business and life so that we become people of a different spirit! Significant is the word that comes to mind when I think about my conversation with our guest, Chris Edwards. If you are listening to this episode in real time then you know that our world has been completely turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm going to be honest with you, until I heard the message Chris shares in this episode, I had viewed this crisis as little more than a frustrating, and somewhat scary, bump in the road of life that when passed things would return to normal. That has all been thrown out the window. The truth that Chris shares in this conversation is that we are in a unique moment in history. We are in a moment of history that our grandchildren will study someday. Things are fundamentally shifting. In the coming months and years opportunities to take territory will present themselves like we have never seen. The question is, will we as Christian entrepreneurs and business owners be in a position to capitalize on the opportunities? This is an absolute MUST listen for the times we find ourselves in! In the very first episode of the Kingdom B School podcast, I share my journey out of full-time ministry in 2017 and into the business world. That transition was one of the hardest and most rewarding periods of my life. At my lowest point in that transition, when I wasn’t sure if I would make it, God imprinted 3 mentalities on my heart that would ultimately lead to a major turn around, a six-figure business, and multiple employees. These mindsets changed everything for me and still mark my life today. Last, I share the “why” behind Kingdom B School, what I see God doing in business, and what this movement is all about.
