Gordon Laing, Cameralabs podcast, has 120,000 subscribers. One hundred and twenty. Thousand. Subscribers.(You can see his podcast over here: https://www.youtube.com/user/cameralabsOr here: https://www.cameralabs.com/cameralabs-photography-podcast/)I asked him what is it like producing a podcast for hundreds of episodes? Why does he podcast? What is his production workflow - does he hoard his recordings? How does he keep going?I wanted, for a change, to not edit this episode.I wanted to see if it were a more compelling listen when my podcast isn't heavily edited. So it's a little baggier than usual, but this is intentional.I might release a cut down version later, but lets see how this episode goes first.Recorded entirely on location in #Brighton#PodcastProducers #Podcasting #cameralabsPodcast Producers share their experiences to help everyone with how to start a podcast.Watch this podcast on YouTube!https://youtu.be/JVIyBPNa05QHelp me get to 1000 subscribers, click here thanks!https://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=neilmosseyPodcasts mentioned in this episode:ADAM BUXTONhttp://adam-buxton.co.uk/podcastsTONY AND CHELSEA NORTHRUPhttps://www.youtube.com/user/VistaCluesTED FORBEShttps://www.youtube.com/user/theartofphotographyCHRIS AND JORDAN DPREVIEWhttps://www.youtube.com/user/dpreviewcomIf you've got this far in the description: why not leave a comment to say hi -- it would be great to hear from you! Podcast Producers share experiences to help everyone start their own podcast, and keep going. This is the chat which kick started the Podcast Producers Podcast:Stuart Thomas, Head of Programmes BBC England, with his insight on launching a podcast at the BBC - MULTI STORY."A collection of surprising stories from around the country, presented and produced by Becca Bryers."MULTI STORY link here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06m8h7gFOLLOW STUART THOMAS HERE: https://twitter.com/stuartthomasThis was a chat over a coffee that didn't stop, so I asked Stuart if it would be okay to record our chat on my phone. I'm sorry about the sound quality, but I wanted to share this to help you get your podcast started too.In this episode, (which you can also watch here on YouTube) Stuart talks us through- the number of levels on which a podcast title has to work (as a spoken phrase... text in a logo... as a URL... as something descriptive but unique and which hasn't already been taken...)- titling podcast episodes- and some of the decisions made during the editing process. What length should a podcast be?He also talks about the podcast production landscape, and some of his favourite podcast series. Here's the article I mention: 12% of podcasts don't get past the first episodehttps://blog.pacific-content.com/podcast-success-a-long-game-fd6522b72752Please leave a comment to say hi -- it would be great to hear from anyone watching this! I want to meet with as many Podcast Producers as possible, help them spread their work, and share their tips, experiences and advice for how to start a podcast.Contact me on Twitter @neilmosseyOr website https://podcastproducerspodcast.blogspot.comWatch on Youtubehttps://youtu.be/_m9nzSs4Qg4Podcast Producers Podcast series playlisthttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtZM4-pHDwPm5cAImrfo1IB70PUcJbMlVI want to see if it's possible to start making a podcast with no money or as little money as possible.I want to do this in a way where anyone can use what they've got to hand to put their podcast idea online.Podcast producers are - I think - are anyone involved in making a podcast even if you're just thinking about doing it, if you're listening to this you're a podcast producer - whether or not you've actually got a podcast yet. You're a podcast producer.I'm hoping that if I can keep this going long enough that anyone will be able to share their ideas or to share tips or to put questions that other people - other podcast producers are facing - and that we'll all help each other out.I want to talk to as many people who have a podcast going to help them find a new audience for their podcasts and finally I really want to try and get as many people as possible to make their own podcast and if I could just stumble through this process and share everything with you I'm hoping that you'll see that you'll be able to do this. This is a second version of episode 001 where I have uploaded this as a different enclosure, hosted at the Internet Archive. And I think this might be my very first episode of the Podcast Producers Podcast which can be seen online, and downloaded by podcast catching apps... I know this is imperfect. There's no music and the audio quality will improve, but I need to get this episode out to start the series... and start the process to make it better. The direct link to the episode is HERE.The complete transcript for this episode is here. Thanks for listening.
