The Social Media Center offers a series of four Professional Development courses onsite or online. The courses cover social media content development, strategies, data analytics, and management. The Center's global advisory board provides a gateway to the industry with representatives from weebly, tumblr, and many more.

Comic Book Writer, and Academy of Art University instructor, Brian Schirmer hosts a discussion on getting started and kickstarting your career in comics by way of networking, twitter and social media. Focusing on Kickstarter, Schirmer discusses the importance of utilizing the network you have, as well cultivating a network, in order to use kickstarter or other forms of crowdfunding, to launch your career.

"At the end of the day, design is story telling," according to Academy of Art University and school of graphic design director, Mary Scott. Academy students are tasked to write a script, design and ultimately tell their story through graphics for the summer portfolio review.

TheAcademy of Art University, along with the school of architecture, hosts a professional preparedness workshop in order to assist Academy of Art students in launching their careers in architecture with an emphasis on the Interview process and the necessary follow up for launching a successful career.

The Academy of Art University and the school of Web Design and New Media host a career seminar for Academy students looking to break into a career in the field of new media or web design. The seminar focuses on internships and offers a plethora of tips, suggestions and advice on just how to find and land that perfect internship.

Alison Wright, documentary photographer takes us through her travels through photos that document the many unique and diverse people and cultures of the world.

This video is an interactive demo on how a designer and a photographer work together to create a shot, specifically tabletop photography. Executive Director Mary Scott and full-time faculty Erik Butler (photographer) collaborate through the steps of deciding how to shoot a project. Students bring in projects to photograph and receive tips on how to create their portfolios.

Jonathan Wallraven, Curatorial Director at Vango Art, will showcase Vango's unique online fine art selling platform.
