With her eclectic background in jazz, hip-hop, R&B, lo-fi, musical theatre, and funk and soul, Zahyia finds ways to push traditional boundaries in the world of music and alternative RB. The COVID crisis of 2020 has catapulted her on a new journey of sound and spirit as she captures and transports us to a higher spiritual vibration.     In this very first episode of Sitting with CICI I sit down with Shani Wilson an activist, Internal Medicine Board-certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with areas of expertise in LGBTQ+ Health, sexual health, minority health disparities with emphasis on mental health to talk about Black women in leadership, challenging barriers, biases, and institutional racism. Community activism and engagement has been especially important to Shani; she is passionate about also giving a voice to the underserved people of Rochester, NY. She also works closely with local LGBTQ+ organizations such as Rochester Black Pride- where she currently serves as one of the co-organizers.
