The Rumour Said Fire kan opleves på SPOT Festival, lørdag kl 20, i Scandinavian Congress Center.
SLOWOLF is the Copenhagen-based drummer and producer Andreas Asingh who combines influences from hiphop, r’n’b, jazz and grime into his own distinctive sound, which his new EP “White feathers” is a perfect example of. The EP is dedicated to his less than one-year-old son, Karlo, who is hospitalized. For this episode Andreas recorded himself in his car at the hospital while visiting his son. A big thanks to Andreas for taking the time to do this interview despite of the situation.
After having only released two singles, LISS were quickly signed to the influential British record label XL Recordings. Going through two early demo-versions of their newest single ‘Sorry’ the four guys from the promising young band talk about how they made the song and explain why it’s important to them to be able to play their songs live.
2013 was a preliminary highlight for Søren juul. He signed with the recognized label 4AD and released his debut album ‘Somewhere Else’ under his former alias, Indians. On this episode Søren Juul talks about how he, all alone in a basement in Portland, Oregon, wrote the song ‘Dear Child’ from his upcoming album ‘This Moment’ and how he used a trance-like synthesizer sound in this otherwise melancholic, ambient song.
Virgin Suicide is a five-piece band from Copenhagen. In 2015 they released their self-titled debut album which takes one back to the guitar-driven janglepop of the 1980’s. The album was mixed and co-produced in Los Angeles by Sune Wagner of the Raveonettes. The band recently put out a double single where the otherwise guitar-dominated janglepop is replaced by a fresh sound giving more room for both synth and vocal. In this episode lead singer Martin Grønne and guitarist Terkel Røjle will be talking about the making of the track ‘Around the Sun’ and why their new songs don’t exactly resemble the jangly sound of the debut.
EXEC is the new vocal and piano-driven solo project of Danish musician Troels Abrahamsen. In this episode, Troels and his producer Mikkel Bolding will be talking about the recording-process of the track Life Is a Liquid. The entire album, The Limber Real, was recorded as one-takes on five different locations, in order to achieve the right atmosphere, sound and mood in each separate track. The album is also the result of a change in musical work method with the piano as the starting point instead of the computer.
In this episode the Danish/Australian duo Palace Winter will go through the making of their song New Ghost from their 2015 debut EP Medication. The two members of the band Caspar Hesselager and Carl Coleman first met in the spring of 2013 while sharing a tour-bus for six weeks. Carl was opening for The Rumour Said Fire in which Caspar was playing synths. They quickly discovered a shared enthusiasm for anything from Elliot Smith to Seinfield and knew it had to result in making music together.
