EXEC is the new vocal and piano-driven solo project of Danish musician Troels Abrahamsen. In this episode, Troels and his producer Mikkel Bolding will be talking about the recording-process of the track Life Is a Liquid. The entire album, The Limber Real, was recorded as one-takes on five different locations, in order to achieve the right atmosphere, sound and mood in each separate track. The album is also the result of a change in musical work method with the piano as the starting point instead of the computer.

Today we move into new territory with our first guest musician, Troels Abrahamsen. He is the talented lead singer of the Danish band Veto and a prolific solo artist. He sits down in the armchair and we end up treading much ground together. He tells about the importance of making music instead of drinking, about how the good artistic choices are not always good for business and we talk about vulnerability and the magic of the piano. These elements can become for the dj, as for a good musician, a great orchestra. That’s why today also a dj can ride the classifications with the pieces realized, remixed and produced by him and because the youngs cram to one of his dj set as once only for a rock concert happened. The dj is the new star! Besides also Brian Eno had foretold this in the distant year 83 saying: ” the musician of the future will be the dj! ” A philosophy of life at the base of the profession of the dj always accompanied by a good musical taste, ear, humility and above all passion in these words it is picked the opinion of Flavio Kirilli aka FK Anyway. Flavio, since from childhood, has been a lover of music and of what rotates around it; he starts to move his first footsteps when he was 16 buying the first console, then growing ,he continues his walk “putting disks” practically in the best clubses of the region. After sometime, he learns to discover and to interpret the different musical tastes of the people, the way to make amuse them and to transmit emotions. In 2002 he decides to move definitively to Riccione where all the time there are the most important clubs of Italy. Here finally the dreams become reality, after having worked at the Echoes – Liz and to the Byblos and Pascià. For different years he works to one of the shops of disks more important of Italy, where he enriches his musical culture and strengthens his knowledges with the best exponents of the house panorama national and not only. In 20 years he has worked in hundreds of clubs in Italy and to the foreign countries, among the most meaningful: Matis (Bologna), Peter (Riccione), Divinae Follie (Bisceglie – Ba), Nafoura (Castellaneta Marina-Ta), Fellini (Milano), Dna (Ginosa Marina – Ta), Villa Delle Rose (Riccione), Miu’ J’adore (Marotta-An), Chalet delle Rose (Bologna), Des Alpes (Madonna di Campiglio – Tn), Vanilla (Siena), The Door (New York – USA), NiteFlight (Leibnitz – Austria), Fiesta Club (Bruxelles – Belgio), Penthouse (Copenhagen - Denmark) and so many others… He has worked with sacred monsters of the music, artists of world calibre with which he have had the pleasure to share both the professionalism and the friendship. “It is enought look at them working to understand that from them there is always to learn ” he says with humility… Consequence of his success and his back-ground musical, as natural professional growth, Flavio from 2006 starts to compare him with the job of remixer and record producer. Nocturnes 2.0 ( first played and publish for www.djradio.com (UK) ) Second iteration of the “Nocturnes” series. It came about as a request from www.djradio.com [UK]. They contacted me for an exclusive second “Nocturnes” which as they mentioned could include a few surprise outside of the normal House genre. At the crossroads of Progressive House, Trance with a definite Indie flavour. I expect it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, with some lauding it and some hating it. There are a few ambient and instrumental only tunes giving the set a unique feel within what I normally publish. It is a Journey, take it, I am hoping it is a rewarding one. The Blomqvist’s remix of “Big Jet Plane” is a very clever progressive rendition of the commercial hit. “Get Away” from Brezza you will either live it or hate it.. I am definitively on the Love side of the spectrum. Indie, clever, Rock with a superb production. “ Spectrum (Say My Name)”.. After the version of “You Got The Love” Florence and the machine are on everyone’s radar.. This original tune will become an anthem and the Maya Janes Coles remix is perfect for Florence’s haunting vocals. DO NOT MISS!! “All That Matters” from Kolsch, deep progressive house right down my alley. Another very polished production. “Shine On Me” from Matt G., with “Fly Away” and “Spectrum”, standouts of the set.. Hope you enjoy it. Not quite sure as yet, which way I will go next.. but it will be sooner rather than later as tunes are really starting to accumulate.   Xtian
