Have you ever wanted your best friend to listen to your favorite album? Why don’t other people appreciate your favorite movie? What if I told you I like mixing orange juice and coffee together? Tim and Aaron are lifelong friends who, each month, exchange things that the other one should like. From b…
Well we're just gosh darn tootin' pleased as punch that you've wandered all the way up that lonesome road to Podcast Town to join us for this, our 10th episode of This Is Good I Cuss hosted by the Boy Howdy Boys. To Celebrate our year of podcastin' ol' Tim and Arn wandered up Mount Lemon in the beautiful Tucson, AZ to do a little bit of good ol' fashioned campin'. Those steak-slangin' scoop crunchin' city boys abandon their millennial ways and take to the hills where they discuss camping. And also going to concerts. And holidays. Boy howdy. Pull up a log, won't you?
Studies show that a whole bunch of people are afraid of failure, so what's more fitting for our scariest episode than not doing the stuff we said we'd do? In this episode, Tim and Aaron brave the waters of failure on their boat made of jokes. We discuss the creative process in writing music and making films, and then cuss a bunch as we argue about candy. Give the episode a listen, ya bunch of milk duds.
Tim and Aaron spend a majority of their time this month discussing Bo Burnham's new film, Eighth Grade. I spent a good three minutes just now trying to spell "Eighth." We discuss kids these days, scandalous celebrities, and the book series Eragon in our new segment called "strong opinions." May the Sword Lord bless your journey through this, our eigthgth episode.
We earn that explicit tag for the sheer amount of times we say the word "goop," so we apologize in advance. We hope our bad influence doesn't ruin your day. Big thanks to the Baconator who sponsors not only the show but our very lives* and also for King Baggot for just existing in our world and for having an insane name. We talk about The Thing and The Last Starfighter, two excellent films with substantial amounts of goop for everybody.
Hey man, we're just a couple of chill guys taking it easy after releasing an episode like 8 full days later than we wanted to. But it's all good, because we're so chill. We talk about This Is Water by David Foster Wallace, and the Weatherbox Audiotree Live session. You can get both of those hot links on youtube if you want, dude. It's all good either way, we're chill about it.
Howdy partner! For today's fresh eppy, Tim and Aaron discuss the zombie audio drama and podcast We're Alive: A Story Of Survival, as well as the audiobook for Eventide by Kent Haruf. Both are scary in their own unique ways. I'm not sure if anybody reads the description, but we talk about radio dramas a lot, specifically Jack Benny.
Somehow both Tim and Aaron picked foreign films to talk about in this month's This Is Good I Swear. Tim had Aaron watch "My Life As A Zucchini," and Aaron had Tim watch "A Pigeon Sat On A Branch Reflecting On Existence." I'm going to be honest, this one's a weird one. It was completely devoid of red bull. I'm happy to hear you're doing well.
This episode is a little different because not only did Tim and Aaron have to go out into the world for this month's exchange, but it just so happened that they were able to go TOGETHER. They spent a lovely afternoon in sunny Phoenix, AZ visiting Taliesin West and going to an Arizona Coyotes hockey game. They also ate french fries and recorded random audio throughout the day, which has been expertly mixed into the episode by me. Does anybody read these? Man I could go for a red bull right about now.
Tim made Aaron watch The Digimon Movie, an international classic. Aaron made Tim watch The Darjeeling Limited, directed by some guy named Wesley Anderson. We spent most of this episode talking about Tim's Dad. Hey Bill.
Tim made Aaron listen to "TSOL" by Shad, and Aaron made Tim read "Franny and Zooey" by J.D. Salinger. We talked about working with kids, God, and Aaron reveals a dark secret from his past (that's not true).
