#14 - Speaking on Safari (with Mike Dane, Jordyn Kerr, and [sort of] Caroline Morgan)

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 7, 2020 31:05

In the most exhilarating episode yet, Jordan Flagel speaks with Mike Dane and Jordyn Kerr about how the digital nomad life led them to where they were - in a tent in the middle of the Botswana bush! They are joined by Caroline Morgan, by accident, because she thought the conversation was taking place in her tent (it was not her tent). Through the laughs and stories about seeing lions up close, giraffes getting it on, and an elephant kicking a hippo in the head, they explore how remote working often leads to these kinds of situations. When you have the freedom to move about and take your work with you, a safari trip in the African bush can become a weekend trip rather than a months-long escapade. Check out their conversation for more insights into how this lifestyle offers benefits beyond the office.

In these unprecedented times, we here at WiFi Tribe thought it would be good to take a moment (or an hour) to reflect on what this pandemic has brought with it. Jordan Flagel and Amanda Scott sat down, virtually, from across the world to discuss their personal experiences trying to get home during border closures and uncertainty and what they've felt during mandatory self-isolation imposed upon them from their governments (as returning travellers). They also discuss what it means for people who now work remotely, what it might mean for people who can no longer work, and how devastating it will be if you or somebody close to you develop complications from the virus. Our hope is that this hour will be a chance to share in some of the experiences that others have no doubt felt, and can hopefully create a small feeling of togetherness and connectivity by relating to their experiences. We hope you are staying safe and doing your part to stop the spread, which definitely isn't easy for travellers and nomadic souls. We will get through this together! WiFi Tribe is here for support during this time, whether you are a longtime member or brand new to the Tribe.
