Back In his homeland he takes up the mantle of his revered dead father, T’Chaka (John Kani) to serve as his country's new leader. However, the past actions and secrets of T’Chaka quickly resurface and the newly appointed King T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne by a resourceful and astute Wakandan. The newly arrived challenger, named Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), is filled with revenge. He works with the leader of the border faction of Wakanda W’Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya) to assert his claim on the throne and future path of Wakanda. As this new reality threatens Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with with his sister (Lupita Nyong'o) and past sweetheart, Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o) along with the leader of the Dora Milaje, Okoye (Danai Gurira) and C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) to prevent Wakanda from initiating a new world conflict.
