Alfonso Cuarón got some respect! But also, Green Book won Best Picture... Jack and Kev talk about the good and the bad of the main Oscars categories, the ceremony itself (and their own solution), and their thoughts on the movies from 2018 overall. They also go into the world of baseball and talk about the new Bryce Harper surprising announcement of his deal with the Phillies, as well as how it compares to Manny Machado's decision from last week to sign with the Padres, and how the two big superstars deals compare as the two young free agents who have been keeping the MLB on edge all offseason.

Ok, one down. This episode was actually the first thing I recorded for this podcast; it's a conversation with two friends - Emily Bennett and Jim Woodall - about the Oscars 2018 and movies in general. It was recorded the day before the Oscars aired so you can take our predictions with a pinch of salt. I recorded the intro and outro separately, I actually recorded them shortly after I had put the word out about the 1st episode so the figures I mention have changed by the time this goes live. Episode 01 has had 18 plays at time of writing this. As always I incredibly grateful to anyone that gives me their time. And the offer to help put money towards this idea still stands too, feel free to check out my Patreon page below. And, as always, there's a little original music to look forward to at the end. -- https://www.patreon.com/SADDESTNIGHTOUT -- You can find more from my guest Emily here: Instagram -- https://www.instagram.com/emilybennettfilms -- You can find more from my guest Jim here: Facebook: -- https://www.facebook.com/jamesbwoodall/ -- Twitter: -- https://twitter.com/jamesbwoodall --
Aaron and DJ do a special episode about "Hollywood's Biggest Night". Whether you've seen almost every Oscar contender like Aaron, or have seen almost none of them like DJ, this episode is for you! The first half was recorded before the Oscars and the guys make some predictions that mostly end up being true. The second half focuses on a discussion of the ceremony, as well as a brief discussion about A Wrinkle In Time and a movie forecast for rest of Q1 2018. We also go over some things we’ve been watching and some things we’re looking forward to. Stuff you should watch, films to avoid and some returning favourites. This episode also includes the triumphant return of Our Man in Japan. Sam has a Japanese show to recommend that you can watch now (if you have Amazon Prime, that is). Oscar-Verleihung.
This week, we are breaking down the winners and losers from Hollywood's premiere celebration of themselves, The Academy Awards! How did a movie about a fish man's relationship with a mute woman in 1950s America over come the in your face horror of progressive white people? We've got the analysis and plenty of vulgar humor to boot. So join us on the red carpet as we recap The Oscars!
Also Vorhang auf, Bühne frei und Lauscher auf Empfang, denn „This Podcast goes to…“.
