Welcome back fellow survivors we're chatting about The Last Of Us Episode 2 "Infected" in our spoiler filled podcast. Based on the PlayStation Game series from Naughty Dog Showrunner: Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann Episode Written by: Craig Mazin Episode Directed by: Neil Druckmann Synopsis for The Last Of Us Episode 2 "Infected" In Jakarta, Indonesia, in 2003, Ibu Ratna, a professor of mycology, is brought in by the army to examine a body bitten by a co-worker in a wheat milling facility and infected with cordyceps. The authorities are looking for a cure to prevent the spread of this emerging outbreak, but after her shocking discovery, her advice is simple: Start bombing the city and everyone in it!! In the present, after escaping the quarantine zone, Ellie has questions to answer after it is discovered that she is infected. She explains to Joel and Tess that she is immune and is being transported west in hopes of being used to find a cure by the Fireflies.Searching for a way through the city to the waiting Fireflies at the Boston State House, they discover their preferred route, the “long-way around”, is littered with newly infected. Looking at the mass of infected from on high, Tess explains to Ellie how they are connected through the mycorrhizal network or fibres, to try and warn her that her immunity doesn't stretch to being ripped apart. The threesome must now cut around the infected through the Bostonian Museum, a shorter route, but one that Joel and Tess are apprehensive about. Entering the museum, there are signs of the presence of a “clicker”, an infected that is blind but uses sounds and vibrations to locate its victims. Moving slowly, and with care, they are close to making their way to safety when they are attacked by two clickers. As Joel and Tess struggle to fight the clickers off, they finally manage to kill them, but not before Ellie is bitten again and Tess injures her ankle. After bandaging themselves up the trio arrives at the State House only to find the Fireflies slaughtered by one another after one member was infected. Seemingly their mission is short-lived as Joel believes they must head back to the quarantine zone. But Tess' mood begins to change, revealing she was bitten on the neck, while Ellie's bite begins to heal, showing her immunity. Debating what to do, one of the infected Fireflies that has turned is shot by Joel, which alerts many others to their location through the fungus tendril network. With little time remaining as the hoard charges towards the State House and the infection begins to take hold of Tess, she pleads with Joel to take Ellie to their contacts Bill and Frank who will deliver her west to the Fireflies and to keep some hope alive. She manages to convince him to escape with Ellie while she remains. The horde runs into the State House after Joel and Ellie, ignoring Tess, who is struggling to ignite the gasoline and grenades cocktail with her lighter. As more infected pile into the State House one infected moves towards Tess to connect her to the fungal mycorrhizal through the tendrils from his mouth to hers. In Tess' last breath she manages to light her lighter, blowing up the building and killing herself along with the horde. Based on the PlayStation Game series from Naughty Dog Showrunner: Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann Episode Written by: Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann Episode Directed by: Craig Mazin Synopsis for The Last Of Us Episode 1 "When You're Lost In The Darkness" In 2003, Joel Miller's birthday with his daughter, Sarah, is turned into a nightmare as a fungal pandemic hits their hometown of Austin, Texas turning its victims into bloodthirsty attackers. As the fungus starts to spread, Sarah, Joel and his brother Tommy flee into the chaos, leading to dire consequences. After escaping an infected “runner”, Sarah is killed by a soldier who shoots her believing her and Joel to be infected. As the soldier goes to finish off Joel he is saved by Tommy. Twenty years later, after the planet has been ravaged by the fungal outbreak, life is harsh and desolate for the survivors in this new world. Joel lives in the Boston quarantine zone managed by the Federal Disaster Response Agency (FEDRA), as a smuggler with his partner Tess. Confined within the walls of the quarantine zone and subject to martial law, they try to source a car battery to leave the city in search of Tommy who has dropped out of contact from his location in Wyoming. But the local dealer, Robert, has instead sold the battery to the Fireflies, a rebel group that opposes FEDRA. Joel and Tess head to confront Robert. As the Fireflies' leader in Boston, Marlene, begins to enact a new mission to move a valuable asset, a young girl named Ellie, from Boston. Her attempts to secure transport out of the city with Robert goes awry and she is injured in a shootout. Arriving at the Fireflies' headquarters, a wounded Marlene pleads with Joel and Tess to take young Ellie to the Massachusetts State House. Reluctantly Joel and Tess accept the additional burden to their plans in exchange for supplies and a fully gassed up working vehicle.Sneaking past the heavy FEDRA security through no-man's land, the group of three are caught by a soldier. He tests each of them for infection but when Ellie stabs him, he tries to shoot her. With flashes to the death of his daughter, Joel protects Ellie, tackling the soldier to the ground and beating him to death. In the violent aftermath, Tess realizes Ellie is infected. While Ellie promises them that she will not turn, there is little time to debate the situation. As they make a break from pursuing FEDRA soldiers, into a biological contamination area, little do they realise that their new mission could change everything. In Joel's empty apartment a song plays on the radio an 80s coded message of impending trouble. Travelling through the portal created by Balor he realises the true sacrifice he must make to obtain chaos magic. Killing Kendrick, the Chaos magic flows through and into Balor who uses it to send Eredin and his men to another unknown world of fire for eternity. Entering through the gates of Xin'trea disguised as the royal army, the seven split up to complete their mission. As the Lark rallies the lowborn of Xin'trea to rise up against their overlords, Scion takes Fjall to Queen Merwyn so Fjall may kill Balor's beast and she may reclaim her tribe's sword. But Merwyn renounces her deal and has Scion taken away to be executed. Telling Fjall that everything she had done to secure her position was necessary, sends Fjall into a Witcher rage. While Merwyn escapes to her room, her royal guards are killed and he focuses his attention on the beast. After killing her captors, Scion lets the others into the palace. While the Mages, Syndril and Zacare, head to destroy the master Monolith, Scion, Brother Death and Meldof defend their position to allow Eile to confront and kill Merwyn with a knife to her stomach in front of her rebelling populace. Battling the beast, Fjall's rage transforms him further to increase his strength and allow him to kill the flying beast. But the dark magic coursing through him makes him turn on his fellow companions, taking the eye of Brother Death. Only Eile's singing calms him enough for her to kill him with her blade. Meanwhile, on reaching the Monolith Syndril and Zacare are caught by Balor returning from the other world. Pinned down by Balor's new magic, Syndril uses Zacare's binding powers to combine his magic with Balor's chaos magic, destroying the monolith and killing Syndril in the process. The shattering of the monolith releases a great surge of energy that brings down the veil between worlds and starts the convergence of the spheres. In the aftermath of the convergence, the Continent is transformed with the arrival of men on its shores. So too is Eile who is pregnant with her and Fjall's child. With the Story of the Seven told, the timeless entity abandons Jaskier and his reality becomes the battlefield between humans and elves. In a mid-credit scene, Merwyn's Mage, having discovered that the monoliths can be used to travel through time, watches on as a young Cire plays with her young friends in Cintra. They take in the disparate group and when she learns of their plan to kill Elven Empress Merwyn, the six become seven. But to get to Merwyn they must destroy the beast, as Fjall confides to Scion that there is no back door into Xin'trea. Syndril plans to create a beast of their own using the heart of the beast already slain at the portal and Zacare's dark magic. Eile volunteers to go through the difficult procedure but after a night of heart to hearts Fjall takes her place. With Fjall transformed into the first Witcher he declares his love for Eile, and the group start towards Xin'trea. On breaking and entering a bank to rob, they find the coffers empty and that they are surrounded by soldiers of the new Empire hunting them. As they defend their position, they fight back the soldiers but Scian is seriously injured and the soldiers try a new tactic to smoke them out of the bank. They manage to escape but Scian's condition is deteriorating and they have picked up a tail from the town. After searching for herbs to heal Scian's wound they return to find a man standing over her. He's called Callan and with his butcher blades is known as Brother Death. He has no love for the new army of the Golden Empire and joins them in their quest. Telling them of a healer, Zacare, in the Marsh of the Mists who can aid Scian the band of three becomes four.   Meanwhile, a young dwarf named Meldof, with her trustee war hammer named Gwen is on a mission to track down an army sergeant, Talysome The One Eye, who has been using and abusing other female dwarves. Meldof and Gwen catch up with Talysome who loses more than his other eye. In Xin'trea the puppet Empress Merwyn plots to retake control away from Balor. She enlists the Mage Avallah to be her protector after he saved her from an assassination attempt, and also to be her eyes and ears around court. Heading out into the city under disguise, Merwyn discovers some juicy information on Captain Eredin that she uses to offer him a proposal to overthrow Balor. Elsewhere, still insecure about his low born status, Balor returns to the power within the Monolith with two child sacrifices. But the energy that Balor is given is only fleeting, a mere taste of the chaos magic. He is told by the force that to truly obtain the full power of this magic will require true sacrifice not tokens. Eile, Fjall, Callan arrive at the healer's with Scian where she is healed to full health. While there they also discover the mage Syndril, who managed to escape his imprisonment at the hands of Balor by using the Monoliths to travel between different points across the Continent. The group realise they can enter the palace at Xin'trea and destroy the master Monolith by travelling between the Monoliths. The band of four becomes six. As they use the monolith to transport to Xin'trea things do not go as smoothly as they had hoped. The band are confused as to why there are now two moons in the sky, and why a beautiful aquatic flower is in fact a fierce monster chasing them down. In the elven Golden Era, war between the elven kingdoms Xin'trea, Pyrissia and Darwen has taken its toll. As the royal houses fight, so their Clans protect them from assassination, but this too has taken a toll on Fjall “Stonebreaker” of Dog Clan who has been banished from Xin'trea and Éile “The Lark” of Raven Clan who has self exiled from Pyrissia to pursue a different way of life. However, the King of Xin'trea seeks peace with the other Kingdoms, but is unaware that other forces are directed against his plan from the army and mages led by his Chief Sage, Balor. Using the Mage Syndril's discoveries about the Monoliths, Balor has tapped into other forces on other planes of existence for his own ends. Meanwhile, in the far flung region of Inis Dubh, Fjall and Eile find themselves imprisoned together, with no love lost between them. Fjall is released as he is recalled to Dog Clan in anticipation of the forthcoming peace treaty amongst the Elves. As they head back to Pyrissia, Eile's sister Niamh is killed in an ambush by members of the three elven armies. As she fights for her own life she is aided by Fjall. The great and the good arrive in Xin'trea to commit to peace, but the ceremony is flung into chaos with the arrival of a flying monster from beyond this world. The King of Xin'trea, along with the other Elven royalty, are betrayed by his own sister, the Princess Merwyn and Balor with support from the assorted armies and mages of the kingdoms who still want war. As word carries around the Continent of the new Empire, Eile and Fjall find that their heads now have a price. We are back for the 30th movie in the MCU Wakanda Forever. A sometimes somber but very effective tribute and a stunning end to Phase 4. Synopsis for our Wakanda Forever Movie Review Directed by: Ryan Coogler Story by: Ryan Coogler Screenplay by: Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole Wakanda is in mourning after the loss of king T'Challa. Despite all of her technological advantages his sister Shuri was unable to save him. In the aftermath of T'Challa's death, Queen Romanda tries to secure Wakanda's future after the world eyes up Wakanda's source of power. But when she tells assembled world leaders that Wakanda will never share their Vibranium, some of the nations align to find their own. In their rush to find Vibranium, the US uncover a deposit of the powerful material outside Wakanda, and awaken the hidden nation of Tolokan and their god king Namor. After destroying the ship to keep Tolokan hidden, Namor reaches out to join forces with the Wakandans, to find and kill the scientist who created a tool to find Vibranium. Princess Shuri, still unable to fully process her grief, is brought on a field excursion with Okoya to find the young scientist, Riri Williams, after getting a lead from Everett Ross, but the Tolokans intercept them taking Shuri and Riri. Meanwhile, Contessa Valentina Allegra De Fontaine has reconnected with her ex husband Everett Ross to investigate the Wakandan activities on US soil learning of the new society and Wakanda. She also learns of her former husband's traitorous dealings with the Wakandans and has him arrested. To rescue her daughter Shuri, Queen Romanda enlists the help of Nakia, who separated herself from Wakanda when T'Challa died. She's successful but brings the ire of Namor. The god of the Tolokans attacks Wakanda and drowns Queen Romanda leaving Shuri all alone, angry and vengeful. Shuri regains the power of her ancestors to become the Black Panther. With a plan the Wakandans draw out Namor and the Tolokans to repay the attack on Wakanda. In the battle Shuri captures Namor, showing mercy to him instead of vengeance, and creating an uneasy alliance with the Tolokans. In Wakanda M'Baku steps up to take the throne as Shuri goes to Haiti to finalise her period of mourning for T'Challa. Shuri meets Nakia and prince T'Challa son of king T'Challa. The Rings Of Power Episode 8 Alloyed Synopsis Episode Written by Gennifer Hutchison with John D. Payne and Patrick McKay Episode Directed by Wayne Chi Yip Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien In the East, the white witches known as the Servants of Sauron catch up with The Stranger proclaiming him Lord Sauron, and pledging their service to him so that he may lift the veil of his enemies so he may know himself once again and rule over the lands of Middle-Earth. Nori and the Harfoots also manage to catch up with The Stranger, who has been bound by the Servants of Sauron to keep him from using his powers, which he still has little control over. They manage to free him and help him realise who he really is - he is not Sauron but one of the Istari or wizards. They manage to fend off the Servants of Sauron stealing The Dweller's staff, which the Stranger then uses to banish the trio back to the shadow. Meanwhile, Galadriel and an injured Halbrand arrive in Eregion, much to the surprise of Elrond. The elvish medicine soon has Halbrand on his feet and he seeks out Celebrimbor, the great forger, and in their discussions Halbrand suggests a way of forging the mithril with other metals to enhance its strength. But as Celebrimbor explains what he must do to save the Elves from their diminishing light his choice of words makes Galadriel suspicious of Halbrand's keen interest in the work at the great forge. She checks into the royal lineages of the Southlands. As work progresses in the forge, Galadriel confronts Halbrand with her discovery that he is not from the lineage of the Southland kings, which was broken many years ago. Halbrand reveals himself to be Sauron, and infiltrates her mind to persuade her to become his queen and rule Middle-Earth with him as king, but she refuses. Sauron overpowers Galadriel and flees from Eregion. Keeping what she knows from Elrond and Celebrimbor, she instructs Celebrimbor to forge Three Rings instead of two, so that it brings balance to the holders. Elendil and Míriel arrive back to Númenór to find king Tar-Palantir has died. While back amongst the Harfoots, the Stranger and Nori decide to depart the group and travel east, into Rhûn, to find the “Hermit's Hat” constellation. Unsure which way to go, the Stranger chooses a direction based upon the sweet smell in the air, advising that when in doubt, to "always follow your nose". Soon after arriving, Patrick Wayne turns up with a job for him. His son Thomas is locked up in the Tower of London. With the help of some impressive gadgets from Lucious Fox, getaway driving from Mr. Chadley and the loved up brute force of Dave Boy, Alfie stands to earn a cool Million Quid to break him out and put him on a plane back to Gotham. He had a pretty good plan but the guards are on to them too quickly and Prime Minister Aziz puts out a warrant to arrest Alfie, knowing he's at the centre of the break out. With Thomas refusing to leave his family and corrupt CIA officer Virginia Devereaux calling for her men to finish the job and kill Martha, it could have been a very bad day. The Rings Of Power Episode 7 The Eye Synopsis Episode Written by Jason Cahill Episode Directed by Charlotte Brändström Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien The village is aflame, buried in soot and ash. The survivors make for a nearby hill and the Numenorean base camp, where it is revealed that the Queen Regent Miriel has lost her eyesight, and Elendil begins to realise that his son, Isildur, is lost, presumed dead, after attempting to save people from a burning house. Upon reaching the encampment, Theo who has been accompanied by Galadreil is reunited with Bronwyn and Arondir, and Galadriel is promised further Númenórean support by Miriel to defeat their common enemy, though Elendil is resentful of Galadriel's appearance having brought these events on the Numenoreans and his son. As the Númenóreans depart, a wounded Halbrand, found with a gash in his side, is in urgent need of Elvish medicine, as Galadriel brings him with her back to Lindon.Elsewhere, Nori's caravan finish their migration, but they find the other Harfoots lamenting the destruction of their grove due to the eruption of Orodruin. The Stranger's attempt to mend a tree appears to fail, so Sadoc, leader of the Harfoots, sends him away with a map of his constellation. The following day, however, the entire grove has regrown. While the Harfoots rejoice, they are found by a mysterious trio of Witches in White who are in search of the Stranger. After failing to mislead them, the trio burn the caravans. Wanting to protect their friend, a group of Harfoots set out to warn him. In Khazad-dûm, Elrond offers a deal for the Dwarvish mithril, but King Durin III declines, stating the Elven Age has ended. As Elrond departs, Durin IV witnesses mithril's ability to cure the Elven blight. He brings Elrond and begins to mine for the ore himself. Just as he strikes a massive mithril vein, King Durin arrives and banishes Elrond while also stripping Durin IV of his royal position before sealing the mine, though unbeknownst to him, a Balrog deep underground awakens. In the destroyed Southland village, Adar and his army claim victory and rename the land Mordor. The Sandman Chapter 11 "Dream of A Thousand Cats and Calliope" Details Directed by Hisko Hulsing (segment "Dream of a Thousand Cats") Louise Hooper (segment "Calliope") Teleplay for both episodes written by Catherine Smyth-McMullen Staff Writers Catherine Smyth-McMullen and Vanessa Benton Dream of a Thousand Cats Synopsis. At night, a Siamese cat holds a gathering of other cats at the local graveyard to tell her hope for cats, her experiences and the story about her encounter with Morpheus in the Dreaming. A long time ago, she met a tomcat with whom she gave birth to a litter of mixed-breed kittens. This displeased her owners, who took the kittens and threw them into a river, traumatising the Siamese cat. In desperation, the cat dreamed to get answers for this cruel act and revelation of what to do as she meets Morpheus, in the form of a black cat, and begging him for a solution. Morpheus presented her with a parallel universe in which cats were the dominant species over humans until the humans fought back by dreaming, re-creating reality and turning their masters into the cats that mankind sees them as today. Upon finishing her story, the Siamese cat urges the other cats to perform the same enlightenment so that they may reclaim their status as the rulers of the earth. Calliope Synopsis. Struggling author Richard Madoc visits Erasmus Fry, an elderly former writer who has imprisoned a Greek muse named Calliope in his house. Fry transfers ownership of Calliope to Madoc, in exchange for a trichino bezoar. Back at Madoc's home he discovers that violence is more efficient to receive the Muse's inspiration. Despite his promises to release her after the publication of his sequel to his best-selling debut novel, he abuses her more than once, until it becomes obvious he never intends to let her go. Calliope sends a desperate plea to the Fates who are unable to act before turning to Morpheus, her former husband, whom she has not seen since the tragic death of their son Orpheus. Upon receiving her plea and learning what has happened to her, Morpheus becomes enraged and confronts Madoc. When he refuses to release Calliope, Morpheus punishes Madoc with an uncontrollable stream of ideas. Madoc soon frees Calliope, who asks Morpheus to lift his curse from Madoc. Morpheus does so, but Madoc finds himself unable to remember Calliope, Morpheus, or any of his ideas. Calliope vows to make sure that what happened to her doesn't happen to her sister Muses. She and Morpheus share a tender goodbye as she expresses the hope that sometime in the future, she can visit him in his realm and they'll be able to grieve their son properly. Payne and Patrick McKay Episode Directed by Charlotte Brändström Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien The battle for the Southlands begins! Adar and the Orc army advance on the watchtower of Ostirith and find it abandoned. While they search the tower, Arrondir destroys the tower, causing it to collapse onto the Orc army. The townspeople, who moved down the valley to their village, cheer at the apparent victory but must prepare for the next assault. As the villages make ready to hold off the remaining Orcs, Arrondir hides the broken blade hilt and professes his love to Bronwyn, promising a life together after the battle. The fighting between Orcs, Elves and humans begins, and while the villagers appear victorious, they discover that many of the enemy killed were actually the traitorous Southlanders, and the true Orc army attacks from the shadows, killing many and severely wounding Bronwyn. Overwhelmed and cornered in the village tavern, Adar seeks out the hilt and begins putting the villagers to the sword one-by-one until Theo reveals the location of the broken blade to Adar. With all hope lost, the surviving townsfolk are saved by the Númenorian army who slay many of the remaining Orcs. Adar attempts to escape, but is captured by Galadriel and Halbrand. They interrogate him, discovering his origins as a Moriondor or Uruk, elves corrupted by Morgoth. He taunts them, feigning memory of killing Halbrand's Southlandian family and claiming to have killed Sauron. Back at the village, Halbrand is hailed as the King of the Southlands, while Theo realises the broken blade they recovered is a decoy while the true blade had been carried back to the watchtower by Waldreg. He uses it on the mechanism at Ostirith, causing the nearby dam to release water that rushes through the Orc tunnels towards Mount Doom. Clashing with magma, the resulting eruption releases clouds of volcanic ash, hot gasses and molten debris into the air, darkening the skies over the Southlands and spreading devastation across the Southlands. The Sandman Chapter 9 "Collectors" Details Episode Directed by Coralie Fargeat Teleplay for this episode written by Vanessa Benton Staff Writers Catherine Smyth-McMullen and Vanessa Benton Lyta's pregnancy and sex life with her dead husband are causing tremors in the Dreaming. With fault lines forming across the realm, including in Morpheus' palace, Lucienne and Matthew deduce that it is the result of Rose's increasing power, which threatens to weaken and break down the barriers between the Dreaming and the waking world. But Morpheus is unsure of the theory. Meanwhile, Lyta continues to meet Hector in her dreams, and finds that her pregnancy is advancing at a rapid rate. Back at Hal's bed and breakfast Rose receives a call from the Corinthian who tells her that he has Jed safe and sound and she can collect him from the Royal Hotel in Georgia where he is to give the keynote speech at the "Cereal Convention”, with a distinct absence of cereal. Jed also notices a lack of cereal, his favourite food, as he explores the convention centre, despite instructions from Corinthian to stay in his room. Jed continues to explore the Hotel and strikes up a conversation with one of the collectors, Fun Land. Rose travels to the hotel to meet them, accompanied by her kindly upstairs neighbour Gilbert. As Gilbert's literary discussions send Rose off to the land of nod where she arrives into Lyta's dream separately from Morpheus who has also arrived to discern what is happening. He realises that Rose as the Vortex has allowed Hector's spirit to inhabit the Dreaming, in lieu of him passing on to the afterlife. Despite the protests from Lyta and anger from Rose, Morpheus banishes Hector from the Dreaming and informs Lyta that her unborn child will one day belong to him because it was conceived in the Dreaming. Rose and Gilbert arrive at the hotel and search for Jed. While searching, the Corinthian and Gilbert recognise each other, causing Gilbert to flee to the Dreaming, where he is revealed to be a personified Fiddler's Green, one of the other rogue Dreaming residents. Gilbert relays the Corinthian and Rose's location to Morpheus. Alone, Rose continues her search for her brother, and crashes into a distraught and terrified Jed, being helped by FunLand, as he flees from witnessing exactly who the Cornthian really is. We discuss The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power Episode 3 Adar in spoiler filled detail on our latest podcast. The Rings Of Power Episode 3 Adar Synopsis Episode Written by Jason Cahill and Justin Doble Episode Directed by Wayne Yip Series showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay Based on "The Lord of the Rings" and appendices by J.R.R. Tolkien After being adrift in the Sundering Sea Galadriel and Halbrand are rescued by a ship captained by Elendil, but are their rescuers friend or foe? They are taken to the Land of the Star, Númenor, an island kingdom ruled by Men who fought Morgoth alongside the Elves. The relations between the Númenóreans and the Elves have grown strained over time and the arrival of an Elf to their lands is a cause for controversy. Queen Regent Míriel denies Galadriel's request for a ship back to Middle-earth. Watched over by Elendil, he speaks of the continued influence of Elves in his lands and takes Galadriel to visit a library of lore built by Elrond's brother Elros. There she discovers that the mark of Sauron is actually a map of the Southlands where a new realm for evil forces is planned. She also learns that Halbrand, who is imprisoned after fighting some Númenórean sword smiths, is the king of the Southlands. As the Harfoots prepare for their seasonal migration, the Stranger is revealed while trying to read some star charts that Nori has taken from Sadoc's star-book. Nori and her family are reprived from being left behind, despite breaking the laws of the community, but they must travel at the back of the caravan. The next day as they migrate, with Nori's wagon lagging behind the rest of the caravan trail, they discover a stow away, the Stranger, who helps his new friends on their migration. In the Southlands, Arrondir has been captured by Orcs and taken to a construction camp digging underground passages so Orcs can travel during the day. His Elven compatriots have also been captured, but are killed during an attempted escape. Arrondir survives but is taken to the mysterious Orc leader, Adar.
