Jim Norton and guest co-host Din Thomas are joined by MMA legend Bas Rutten for a lively recap of UFC 316. Din gives props to Bas for his unique insight into both the streetfighting mindset and high-level martial arts, setting the stage for Bas to break down what stood out most on the card — including how Joshua Van reminds him of a young Max Holloway. Bas has so much fun he sticks around when UFC bantamweight champ Kayla Harrison calls in. She reflects on her Olympic roots, the emotions behind her recent victory, and whether a showdown with Amanda Nunes might be on the horizon.

It's just absurd that Elon Musk and Donald Trump are having a very public fight but I guess this is what you get when you try to keep a couple whales in your farm pond. Let's hope this cools off quickly. Missouri politicians take a victory lap all day long Thursday as they are now totally convinced the Chiefs and Royals are staying in the Show Me state. North Kansas City wants to party and they are willing to pay you $400 to do it. The new Black Panther is white in Marvel Comic's new series. A straight Ohio woman wins a SCOTUS case against her gay boss with a 9-0 decision. This is huge. In sports, the Royals split a double header but should have won both. Manager Q and Cole Ragans have awful days but several players did not. Aaron Rodgers signs with the Steelers, the NBA Finals begin with a buzzer beating shocker and your song of the week is an ode to great Americans.
(00:00) Dr. Dennis, a Tufts Medical School Graduate, calls into the show to fact check some bold health claims made by Joe Murray and Dan Lifshatz over the weekend. (19:32) Fred and Hardy discuss main talking points heading into the NBA Finals, as well as rumors regarding offseason moves for teams in the Eastern conference. (36:25) The guys revisit the earlier conversations about the claims made by Dan Lifshatz regarding molecular structure of cells and “grounding”. Holy Cannoli everyone, I could NOT WAIT to release this interview and this conversation I had with the ridiculously talented and funny Gretchen Menn! Some of what you will learn this episode: *Why Gretchen is a badass *How the word "mundane" means very different things to different people *Three examples of magic/miraculous events *How we should all avoid joining cults AND, finally, WHY GRETCHEN IS A BADASS! (Did I mention that already, oh yeah, but it bears repeating!) Gretchen is a guitarist for the group Zepparella, (as well as a solo artist!) and is so exquisitely adept on the guitar (but it's not her only instrument) that my jaw dropped watching her play. Please check out these below to see just what I'm talking about! There is no doubt in my mind that Gretchen is changing the world for the better by showing up and kicking ass just in general. After countless meetings, 20 hour markup hearings and several compromises, House Republicans were able to pass President Trump's 'one big, beautiful bill,' this week. They have Memorial Day weekend to take a victory lap, but House Republicans sights will soon be set on how the Senate responds to the bill -- and whether they'll make significant changes that reverse their progress. FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram breaks down how House Republicans were able to unite in the end despite initial disagreements, and how some Senators may push for modifications. Then, Agriculture Department Secretary Brooke Rollins discusses the expansion of U.S. farm products into the UK and what the President teased as “billions of dollars of export opportunities produced by America's great farmers.” Later, farmer and author of “Land Rich, Cash Poor,” Brian Reisinger, joins to discuss how the deal delivers relief to U.S. farmers after the squeeze of tariffs. I was going to talk about corneas. Just a nice, focused anatomy deep dive. But then I found out UnitedHealthcare's stock is down 20% and—what can I say? I got distracted by joy. So before we dig into layers of corneal meat (yes, I said that), we take a little detour into vertical integration, kickbacks, AI claim denials, and how a multi-billion-dollar behemoth is finally catching a whiff of accountability. Then it's back to business: corneal nerves, LASIK, ulcers, transplant techniques, the great “your corneas are too thin” letdown, and why you should stop sleeping in your contact lenses. Also, I may have created a dating strategy that involves casually name-dropping Descemet's membrane. You're welcome. Takeaways: UnitedHealth Took a Hit—And I Took a Victory Lap. Their CEO is stepping down. Their stock is down. Their karma might finally be catching up. I am… not sad. Your Cornea Is Clear for a Reason—Until It's Not. It doesn't have blood vessels. It doesn't heal like skin. And when it gets cloudy, things get gross, fast. LASIK Isn't for Everyone. Here's Why Your Eye Got Rejected. If you've ever been told your cornea is “too thin,” I'm here to explain why—and yes, it's as mathy as it sounds. Yes, I Called It ‘Corneal Meat.' No, I'm Not Sorry. It's the stroma. It's thick. It's important. And now you're never going to un-hear that phrase. Please Stop Sleeping in Your Contacts. I'm Begging. Because you like seeing. And because I don't want to have to dig bacteria out of your eyeball. — To Get Tickets to Wife & Death: You can visit Glaucomflecken.com/live We want to hear YOUR stories (and medical puns)! We've been saying for a little while that Google has caught up in AI, and is now trying to deploy the full force of its product range and scale to the problem of achieving domination. Dunno if they're there yet, but the I/O conference shows that they're still got a few tricks up their sleeve. In this ep, we go into what they announced, including some interesting movements on our recent chats about search and the monetisation of AI.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Donald J. Trump and the American economy are two beneficiaries of the president's Gulf road show. So are the Gulf states, Syria, and Make America Great Again supporters within Mr. Trump's administration. In less than 24 hours in the kingdom, Mr. Trump received a standing ovation from Arab leaders and hundreds of thousands poured into the streets of Syrian towns and cities to celebrate his lifting of long-standing crippling sanctions—a rare achievement for an American president. On the surface, Syrians, Saudis, and Israel critics have much to celebrate, including Syrians' prospects for reconstruction, Gulf states' defense, technology, and aviation mega deals with the United States, and seemingly upgraded Gulf relations with the US that potentially put them more on par with Israel. Even so, Mr. Trump has yet to pass the litmus test on whether, how much, and what history he wrote on his Gulf tour, packaged in pomp and circumstance.
In this refreshingly candid episode of The Daily Herold, Jon Herold blends humor with hard-hitting analysis as he covers a range of stories from the absurd to the geopolitically significant. Leading the charge is Trump's announcement of a $1.2 trillion economic agreement with Qatar, along with historic arms and aircraft deals, made even more bizarre by the backdrop of Qatar gifting Trump a replacement Air Force One. Domestically, Jon dives into Trump's executive order to cut drug prices and the surprising twist that a Democrat, Rep. Ro Khanna, is introducing legislation to codify it, while Republicans drag their feet. He slams Congress for being run by lobbyist-compromised staffers, not elected officials, and calls the legislative process little more than a PR stunt. Other highlights include a judge upholding Trump's use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport violent gang members, James O'Keefe's bizarre Epstein kitchen footage, and Rubio's planned restructuring of the National Security Council to better match Trump's top-down style. Jon also revisits the reinstatement of Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson, celebrates Trump's camel-flanked parade, and skewers the performative politics dominating D.C. Light on guests but loaded with insight, it's a classic solo Herold hour, snarky, sharp, and unmistakably Badlands.

On this episode of the podcast, Justin Goodman, Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Public Policy at White Coat Waste Project (WCW) discussed his organization's efforts to end animal testing, particularly at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Since 2016, WCW have exposed and fought against cruel experiments, including the NIH's septic shock experiments on Beagles, which killed over 2,100 dogs over 40 years. Goodman highlighted the bipartisan support from lawmakers like Senators Rand Paul and Joni Ernst, and the significant progress made under the Trump Administration. He criticized PETA for not contributing significantly to these efforts and emphasized the need for continued advocacy to end federal funding for animal testing. You can learn more or donate to White Coat Waste Project by visiting their website: WhiteCoatWaste.org. Yesterday, For Women Scotland won a momentous victory at the UK's Supreme Court, where it was clarified that 'sex' within the Equality Act refers to biological sex. We discuss why men are so psychosexually unhinged about the outcome, as seen by the dismay and disbelief at a victory secured by middle-aged women, their subsequent crashing out online, and the fermenting of conspiracy theories relating the Gender Critical movement to the American evangelical rightwing because they cannot believe middle-aged women can win political vindications. How the court victory is retrospective justice for trans widows and every woman forced to call her perpetrator 'she' in court. And how all the man-crying about this win shows how transgenderism was almost entirely about reversing the gains of second-wave feminism. Plus, middle-aged women's unparraelled organising skills, JK Rowling as a benefactor for women's rights, and how GC women will go down in history as political dissidents who won.
Catch the message Proof Of Life: Victory Lap by Pastor Scott Jones.People's futures are at risk. But followers of Jesus are secure. Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God in Christ. Even further, we are told that we can be triumphant in the world we live in. The world may assault our faith, but it cannot rob us of our identity and destiny. But our greatest victory is not found in ourselves, it is found in grounding ourselves deeply in the unchanging reality of our firm foundation in Jesus.
