The latest collaboration from Sony and Marvel is here with Spider-Man No Way Home. Make sure you've watched the movie before you jump into our fully spoiler filled chat. Synopsis for our Spider-Man No Way Home Movie Review Directed by: Jon Watts Written by: Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Based on characters by - Steve Ditko and Stan Lee His identity revealed Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, and MJ try to escape the glare of the media spotlight and J Jonah Jameson. Pursued by the Department of Damage Control, not even the help from his lawyer Matt Murdock, can ease the intrusion of the identity of Spiderman. As it begins to affect the futures of Peter, MJ and Ned when their University applications to MIT are rejected because of the controversy Peter asks Doctor Stephen Strange if he can help. A spell exists that may be the answer to Peter's problems. Deep in the Sanctum Sanctorum and despite Wong's warning, Doctor Strange casts a spell that will make people forget Peter is Spiderman. But it is a tricky and dangerous spell skirting the boundaries of reality. As Strange begins casting Peter keeps requesting alterations to the spell which causes it to become corrupted and run out of control. While Strange manages to contain the failing spell, weird things begin to happen in New York City and they all appear focussed on Spiderman. As Peter tries to convince an MIT administrator to accept Ned's and MJ's applications, he is suddenly attacked by Doc Ock aka Otto Octavius who he manages to disarm and then by the Green Goblin who manages to escape. He brings Doc Ock back to the Sanctum where he is placed in a holding cell next to Curt Connors in his Lizard form. But both adversaries don't recognise this world's Peter Parker. Doctor Strange reveals that the spell has begun bringing "visitors" from the multiverse who know that Peter is Spider-Man into their world from every part of the Multiverse. Armed with this knowledge and with the help of MJ and Ned, Peter decides to help capture any other possible visitors. Spider-Man manages to find and capture Electro aka Max Dillon and Flint Marko still in his Sandman form. While Peter wants to save Doc Ock, Electro, Sandman and Lizard, Doctor Strange believes they should be returned to their universe to meet their fate. But with Peter's greatest adversary Norman Osborne, the green Goblin still at large, Norman uses his split personality and Peter's desire to help others for his own ends, trashing Peter's plan and unleashing tragic events for Peter Parker. With Aunt May killed and Peter desolate, MJ and Ned rally to his help, releasing Doctor Strange from the mirror dimension and recruiting two friendly neighbourhood visitors to his aid as they face off against his enemies at the Statue of Liberty. In the final battle the Spider-Men manage to cure their villains. At Peter's request, Strange fixes the spell, sending the alternate Spider-Men and their villains back to their universes, while making everyone forget Parker's existence. Synopsis for our Eternals Movie Review Spoiler filled Podcast Directed By - Chloé Zhao Screenplay by - Chloé Zhao, Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo and Kaz Firpo Story by - Ryan Firpo and Kaz Firpo Based on characters by - Jack Kirby In 5000 BC a group of Eternal warriors, Ajak, Ikaris, Sersi, Sprite, Thena, Druig, Gilgamesh, Kingo, Makkari and Phastos were sent to earth by the Celestial being Arishem. Their mission is to protect humans from violent Deviants but not interfere with human progress. Over millennia they fight this battle, and eventually establish a stronghold where they live together in Babylon. Two of the Eternals, Ikaris and Sersi fall in love and marry. By 1521, at Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec Empire, the Eternals finally defeated the last Deviant on Earth. In the aftermath of this victory, Thena is afflicted with Mahd Wy'ry, a disease that releases the memories of all of her previous lives. She can not control her power and attacks the Eternals. Gilgamesh calms Thena and agrees to watch over her instead of wiping her mind. With their mission seemingly complete, their leader, Ajak, releases the rest from their obligations to go out in the world and live lives until Arishem calls upon them. But Druig, who has the power of mind control, is angry that he's not allowed to use these powers to prevent conflict between humans and separates from all the rest. In present day London, Sersi and Eternal teenager Sprite are attacked by a new, more powerful Deviant. With the help of Ikaris they drive away the monster and set out to find their leader Ajak who has been murdered by the Deviant. Bradley Episode Written by: Matthew Chauncey Episode Directed By: Bryan Andrews A small choice can change the universe! It's 1988, and in Wakanda the young and curious Prince T'Challa chooses to leave the nation's protective shield. Unfortunately an alien team of Space Pirates known as Ravagers have chosen to land at the same coordinates. Mistaking the young prince for the human son of a being known as Ego, they abduct the boy and take him into the galaxy. Now an adult T'Challa Starlord is notorious throughout the galaxy for his adventures, stealing from the rich to give to the poor alongside his adoptive father Yondu and his crew of Ravagers. He's been told Wakanda was destroyed and his family killed back on earth. Following a successful job on Morag, Starlord returns not only with an infinity stone but with a new crew member, Korath “the Pursuer”. As they celebrate their success back at the Iron Lotus bar on Contraxia, with Thanos the sometimes Mad Titan, Kraglin and Taserface, Nebula comes to T'Challa with a proposition for a heist on the planet Knowhere - to steal the Embers of Genesis from the fearsome galactic crime boss the Collector. Slipping past the Black Order and infiltrating the Collectors collection, while searching for the Embers, T'Challa comes across a Wakandan ship and discovers that Yondu has lied to him about his family's death. At the same time Nebula seemingly betrays T'Challa and the Ravagers to pay off an old debt she has to the Collector. Locked up on Knowhere, things are awkward between T'Challa and Yondu, but T'Challa is taken away to be prepared for collection by the Collector just as Nebula's double, double cross plays out. As the Ravagers escape, Yondu and T'Challa fight the Collector employing the “sticky fingers” tactic to defeat him and face justice from his assistant Carina and all of his other collected pieces from across the galaxy. After escaping, Yondu and Starlord sort out their differences and T'Challa takes his adopted space family to meet his family in Wakanda. Elsewhere, in a Dairy Queen in Missouri a young employee is mopping the floor, as the door opens a man shaped living planet called Ego comes for his son Peter Quill. Marvel's What If? They are on the trail of a Loki Variant but to the tune of “Holding Out for a Hero” they are taken out by the hooded figure who captures and kidnaps Hunter C-20. Meanwhile back at the TVA headquarters, Mobius meets with Judge Renslayer to explain that Loki is a valuable asset that is needed to catch the murderous variant.Given one last chance Loki is tasked with searching through the Variant's history to find clues on where it might be. Loki suggests that his Variant could be hiding in apocalyptic events throughout the sacred timeline which would mask any activities since that timeline will end. To test the theory Mobius takes Loki to Pompeii in 79AD. With the impending eruption of Mount Vesuvius they learn that nothing Loki does shows up as a variant timeline. Using the origin date of the Kablowee Candy left behind in France at the Variant's previous attack, Loki quickly identifies where they could be hiding. They possess Hunter B-15 and other customers of the store to inform Loki that he has no idea of the scale of their plan, it isn't about him. Welcome back fellow Defenders. Derek, John and Chris are chatting about Marvel's Loki podcast Episode 1 "Glorious Purpose" which arrived on Disney Plus on June 9th 2021. We learn all about the Time Variance Authority as Loki diverges from his destiny and messes with the timeline. Loki Episode 1 "Glorious Purpose" Synopsis Episode Written by: Michael Waldron Episode Directed By: Kate Herron Following his battle with the Avengers in New York, Loki, God of Mischief was captured and awaiting transport back to Asgard to be punished for his crimes. But, in their search for the infinity stones to defeat Thanos in the future, the Avengers travelled back to 2012 to retrieve the Tesseract. Fortunately for Loki, during the time heist the Tesseract was dropped at his feet allowing him to escape. Unfortunately this change in destiny altered the “sacred timeline” drawing the attention of the Time Variance Authority. Loki is captured by TVA Hunter B-15 and put on trial for his crimes in front of Juge Ravonna Renslayer. Meanwhile TVA employee Mobius M. Mobius is investigating a series of murders in the timeline of other TVA agents. He saves Loki from his trial and explains the work of the Time Variance Authority is to uphold the events deemed sacred by three interdimensional beings known as the Timekeepers. As Loki diverged from this timeline he's now a variant of the original Loki. Mobius needs Loki's help to capture the murderer as he believes it's another Loki variant travelling through time. If Loki helps end the threat a meeting with the Timekeepers is on the table. Loki Season 1 Cast Loki Laufeyson played by Tom HiddlestonMobius M.
