Hallmark Holiday Movies get a lot of flack because they are predictable, cheesy, corny, and more or less if you've seen one - you've seen them all. YES THERE ARE LESSONS TO BE LEARNED Do you know why all Hallmark Movies are the same? Well, do you know why all AC/DC songs sound the same (or Chuck Berry). Ever listen to an episode of Dave Ramsey? They found a format that works, and consequently, they stay with it until that format doesn't work. Why are there so many Friday the 13th movies? Because they were profitable. That goes for many movie franchises. When you find a winning format - stick with it. Monitor how it resonates with your audience and if they love it, keep doing it. TWEAKING A FORMAT WITHOUT LOSING YOUR SOUL My cousin said, "I know what I'm getting with a Hallmark movie. I don't worry about swearing, nudity, violence, etc. It's a trustworthy holiday movie where everyone feels good when it's over. So Hallmark saw that the "formula" worked but they could grow their audience through diversity. They've added movies with people of color. As a middle-aged white guy, I never knew what it was like to see a movie or TV show and not look like the people on screen. The success of the Black Panther Movie, Blackish, Hamilton, and other forms of entertainment that had a different slant found an underserved audience. With this, I beg you people of color, and people of all shapes, sizes, sex, and whatever makes you - YOU. There are people who are tired of hearing about a subject from a middle-aged white guy and would love to hear about your subject from your point of view that includes your influence and heritage. The Missing Piece in Your Podcast Puzzle I see people saying this like, "I've tried everything but my show isn't growing." To this I say, "Everything?" It turns out when I reach out to the last three people who said this NONE of them had taken the steps to get an objective view of their show. This is like: Wondering why your restaurant isn't growing when you never got feedback on your feed. Wondering why your clothing line isn't selling when you never did a focus group of your target buyer. If you need some help, I can give you feedback. Fred Hampton's cathartic words “I am a revolutionary” became a rallying call in 1969. As chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party, Hampton demanded all power to the people and inspired a growing movement of solidarity, prompting the FBI to consider him a threat and to plant informant William O'Neal to infiltrate the party. JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH not only recounts Hampton's legacy and the FBI's conspiring but also gives equal footing to the man who became infamous for his betrayal—highlighting the systems of inequality and oppression that fed both of their roles.Director: Shaka King Producer: Ryan Coogler, Charles D. I'm betting there are a bunch of Marvel movie fans out there. I'm also a big one. When I saw this speech I knew I had to include it. King T'Challa's at the end of the Black Panther movie. I want to look at this not as a community statement but as an individual. So many of us like to look at what separates us. I mean that is easy right I see people do it all the time. They are glaring examples all over social media if you have any questions about it. Another way it was put is “In effect, the brain is like Velcro for negative experiences, but Teflon for positive ones.” by Rick Hansen PhD. You probably know Family members, and friends that have this ailment also. It is so prevalent. Unless you are constantly conscious of it you probably act this way from time to time right. I mean it is really common. I work on it but still find it happening in my life. I think about the differences that me and this other person have. I mean isn't this the basis of arrogance? But the thing that makes the most sense is to look at the way the beliefs make you feel and how others around you react. As the next sentence says “the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers.” Most of you if you were told you were racist I'm betting that would build a barrier between the two of you. I'm not a big historian and I would love to have someone point out a time in history when building barriers created change. I can think of a few places where building bridges between people created it. Like Ronald Regan and Mikhail Gorbachev, Barack Obama built bridges with Congress and the Senate or Nelson Mandela. To me these are great examples of building bridges. You might not agree or maybe even judge some of these men or me for saying that. I had judgements go through my mind as I wrote them. We don't have to stop the judgements, just pay attention to them and decide whether or not to give them a voice, or to give them authenticity. What is the purpose of giving your judgement a voice? Does giving it a voice create division or solidarity, does it create love or anger? What is it you think it will change? To me the end goal is to create one single family or tribe. Borders don't matter, race is not what drives me. I feel we are all one, My belief is that we all share a single maker. Everything on this earth was created by the same God! That is what brings us together. If we look at DNA humans share 99.99% on average. If we concentrate on that .01 percent it can seem so huge! Isn't it arrogance to concentrate on the differences? What are the 9 Life Lessons that you can learn from the Black Panther Movie? And if you apply them, how can they help you claw your way to the top in life??? The post Mission #54 – Objective: 9 Life Lessons from Black Panther! first appeared on The Victory Unlimited Show.
Movie history has been made, and we were among the masses who went out to the theaters to support this proud moment in movie history. The first ever major super hero movie featuring an all black leading cast, "Black Panther" was released this past weekend and we are proud and hyped for its success. We understand that we are living in a time of critical thought, which compels people to talk more about the impact of the film rather than just simply enjoying it. In this episode we offered a balanced perspective in reacting to the film by discussing the CRITICAL themes that were presented in the movie and also CELEBRATING the film for its art and accomplishment. This film has ignited great conversations and is pushing the culture forward! This episode does contain spoilers, so if you haven't seen the film yet, we encourage you to first watch it and then tune in to listen.
