Allie Entwistle (comedian, Brunch Comedy) joins the show this week to demonstrate that even those who are the closest to us can block us, as she gets blocked by her sketch comedy partner and best friend. The Blocked Boys also get into John's past as a produce clerk, as talk of grocery and big box stores leads to discussion about getting mystery shopped. Elsewhere, we do other important things like pore over Women & Songs track listings, talk seltzer, and rank the Shreks. And if that is not enough stupid stuff for you, donating $5/month at http://patreon.com/blockedparty will get you access to our secret Discord server, where nothing good happens, and TWO bonus episodes per month. This month, favourite guest Sophie Buddle returns to dissect celebrity Cameos with us in our second instalment of Word Up! We check in on our old friend Pauly Shore and we escalate our feud with Darren Rovell. Only $5! Cool!
Recorded live at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival sit down with Robin Duke of Second City, SCTV, Saturday Night Live and Women Fully Clothed, Kerri Donaldson and Allie Entwistle of Brunch Comedy and their podcast You've Got Brunch as well as Brandon Hackett of Second City and The Sketchersons to talk about the 1976 cast recording of The Not Ready For Prime Time Players performing in season 1 and 2 of Saturday Night Live. This historic album is an artifact of sketches gathered when envelopes were being pushed and formats were being established. In the album you can start to hear the familiar patter of the Weekend Update desk segment but also sketches that would never make their way to air today. Our amazing panel bring a unique perspective of both life long fans and former cast members to this stellar discussion.
