On today's episode, I talk to writers and directors Zachary Johnson and Jeffrey Max of Fatal Farm. Zach and Jeffrey grew up in Dallas, TX and became interested in film in high school. Eventually moving to LA, the two began to make videos together in the early days of YouTube, calling themselves Fatal Farm. Their work included the live-action Garfield series Lasagna Cat, as well as Infinite Solutions and Alternate TV Intros. Besides being incredibly funny, Fatal Farm also has a technical expertise that was missing from a lot of internet videos - then and now - and this allowed them to build a name for themselves as in-demand commercial and sketch comedy producers, working with everyone from The Lonely Island to Key & Peele, Adult Swim, I Think You Should Leave and many others! Episode 301 – Chair Company, Bagonia & the Anxiety of Being Extremely Online Matt and Bob are back “to pod” and this week they're double-featuring two very different brands of unhinged: Tim Robinson's The Chair Company on HBO and Yorgos Lanthimos' new black comedy Bagonia. First up, they break down why Chair Company's pilot might be an all-timer — deviled eggs, mall-restaurant discourse, wheelbarrow talk, and HR meetings about accidental upskirt eye contact — but why the season's tone, length, and “Scrooge porn” detours make it a tougher hang than I Think You Should Leave or Friendship. There's bouncer Mike, Wazy Wanes, giant wieners, and the eternal question: how many huge bits are too many huge bits? Then they head into the basement with Bagonia, digging into Jesse Plemons' beautifully weird performance, Emma Stone's corporate-speak alien CEO, and a story that sits somewhere between Ari Aster dread and Wes Anderson precision. They unpack conspiracy-brain vs. Big Pharma, torture in a foil-lined basement, corporate “no PTO, but take all the time you need” doublespeak, and an ending that somehow manages to combine telekinesis, exploding heads, and puffy tribunal aliens in a way that's both dark and oddly funny. Along the way, the guys shout out Jim Downey's late-career run, Will Tracy's Onion/Succession DNA, and close with a few rapid-fire watches on their radar: Train Dreams, J. Kelly, Task, Hamnet, and the Safdies' Christmas chaos ride Marty Supreme. If you've ever fallen down a conspiracy rabbit hole, worked in a soul-sucking office, or just love watching deeply weird men completely derail their lives, this one's for you

We've officially entered the weird zone. In Episode 5 of The Chair Company, “I Won. Zoom In.,” Ron and Mike take a road trip into the sketch-comedy Twilight Zone, and it might be the best (and most chaotic) episode yet. A Scrooge-obsessed cokehead, a method actor turned CFO impersonator, and a basement that might as well be a portal to another dimension? Yes, please.Brandon & Chanel break down all the madness:The best I Think You Should Leave–adjacent scene yet: Oliver Probblo's “Scrooge all year” monologueRon and Mike's descent into Ohio's weirdest town — and why every door opens into a new nightmareA Christmas Carol-themed porn parody (seriously), a photo-hunt callback, and a coke-fueled brawlBasement chases, door slams, light pole climbing, and two concussions for RonMike's emotional reveal: his estranged daughter, his past in the town, and his vulnerabilityDouglas survives a fridge (and drops a monologue worthy of Jim Downey's Hall of Fame)Jamie clutches a crucifix while watching her boss lose his grip (again)That ending: Dickensian chaos, emotional catharsis, and one hell of a Scrooge punchlineThe Chair Company continues to merge paranoid 1970s thrillers with Adult Swim absurdism — and Brandon & Chanel are here for every glorious sketch-within-a-story beat.

Opioids. In. The. Chairs. That's the theory, and Ron Trosper is all in. In The Chair Company Episode 4, the paranoia ratchets up as Ron's delusions (or revelations?) send him deeper into Tecca's tangled web of weirdness, broken furniture, and—somehow—modeling scams.Brandon & Chanel break it all down:Flashbacks to Ron & Barb's big dreams — Jeep tours & breast pumps, anyone?Everpump vs. Everfail — the entrepreneurial crash that may have broken RonChair schematics, hydraulic levers, Hungarian exports, and spreadsheet Pepe Silvia madnessA fake-out cop sting… for a Big Green EggThe legendary “Bahld Harmon” beats Ron for a modeling gig (and Ron's ego will never recover)Mistaken yearbook drama that makes the HR investigation so much worseRed balls, tuba mascots, and pop-ups from the Red Ball Market GlobalA Jason-masked figure, waving at a camera next to a lone Tecca chair. Or is he finally snapping under the weight of suppressed ambition and unresolved trauma?Whatever the truth is — it's absolutely hilarious, and Brandon & Chanel are here for every unhinged moment.

In this episode, Bill Fienberg chats with Coleman Bates, the 2024 World Knife Throwing League World Champion. Bill hopes to keep the conversation under two hours, but fails after going down rabbit holes about pants, Tim Robinson's "I Think You Should Leave," and more. They also delve into practice routines, visualization, and meticulously organized notebooks. It's a quirky mix of sport and absurdity, perfect for your next tournament road trip.
We're 3 episodes deep and Ron's paranoia is now officially justified. Fellow podcaster Mo Walker joins Matt and Dawn to review four new shows available this week. Slow Horses is a massive hit for Apple TV, so now the streamer is banking on another series of novels from author Mick Herron in the hopes of lightning strikes twice. Dame Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson lead an impressive British cast of familiar faces in thriller Down Cemetery Road. Next, and perhaps less successful, after a major run on Netflix, author Harlan Coben comes to Prime Video with ghostly new drama Lazarus. On the BBC, there's the thriller The Ridge, which stars Karen Pire's Lauren Lyle. Lastly, comedian of the moment, Tim Robbins, best known for his fast-paced Netflix sketch series, I Think You Should Leave, leads his first sitcom in HBO's The Chair Company, which is available in the UK on Sky Boxsets or NOW. Lastly, in our three strikes quiz, Matt and Mo compete to name as many dead EastEnders characters as they can. How well would you do?

“What's the one show you'd tell someone they need to watch—and what's the one you just want them to see?”In this thought-provoking and wildly entertaining episode of The Ben and Skin Show, hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray launch a brand-new segment: Can I Ask You a Question? The question this time? A deceptively simple one that sparks deep reflection, passionate debate, and hilarious tangents: What's the difference between a show you recommend because it's important, and one you recommend just because you love it?From The Wire's prophetic breakdown of American institutions to the chaotic brilliance of The Rehearsal, the crew dives into what makes TV truly unforgettable. Krystina champions The Pit and Handmaid's Tale for their emotional impact and social relevance, while KT defends Community and The Rehearsal. Ben brings the laughs with I Think You Should Leave, and Skin gets philosophical about The Bear.
Akiva Schaffer prefers to stay behind the scenes. But that doesn't mean he's any less funny than his Lonely Island bandmates Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone. The three middle school best friends started shooting videos right out of college before landing a plush gig making digital shorts for ‘Saturday Night Live,' including hits like “Lazy Sunday,” “Dick in a Box,” “Jizz in My Pants” and many others. In this episode, Schaffer talks about their unusual path to SNL and how directing outrageous movies like ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping' led him to take on a meta ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers' reboot for Disney+ starring Samberg and John Mulaney—and now the huge ‘Naked Gun' reboot starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson. He also explains why he might be single handedly responsible for Netflix deciding to greenlight ‘I Think You Should Leave' with Tim Robinson. On this episode of #LatinosOutLoud, @RachelLaLoca chats virtually with powerhouse Latina actress of Indigenous roots, Joanna DeLane. Joanna hit the big screen nationwide on March 28th with Jason Statham and David Harbour in the box office hit, A WORKING MAN. Joanna will be recurring in the upcoming Netflix medical drama series PULSE, that began on April 3rd. ABOUT THE FILM A WORKING MAN follows Levon Cade (Statham), who left his profession behind to work construction and be a good dad to his daughter. But when a local girl vanishes, he's asked to return to the skills that made him a mythic figure in the shadowy world of counterterrorism. DeLane appears as Joyce Lefferty, the wife of Gunny (Harbour), a longtime military friend and confidant of Levon Cade. The film marks the second time DeLane has worked with action director David Ayer, explaining “One of my first acting gigs was a background role in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Sabotage. It was very action-packed, and I remember thinking this was the epitome of an action movie -- intense but fun. When it released in theaters, I got messages from friends and family asking if I was in it. 'Yes?' I answered, unsure of how they'd spotted me. I watched it myself and sure enough, there I was—for a few seconds on the big screen, flashing my famous smile, right before the shooting began. Little did anyone realize, the film was directed by David Ayer, who unknowingly gave me my first silver screen moment. Fast forward several years later and here we are – with David giving me my next one!" DeLane also jumps into action alongside Willa Fitzgerald and Colin Woodell recurring as ER Nurse Hill on the anticipated Netflix series, PULSE. This high-stakes drama with a side of romance follows the personal and professional lives of the doctors and staff at a busy Miami trauma center. When the hospital goes into lockdown, tensions rise, secrets spill, and the ER staff must juggle saving lives while dealing with their own drama. “I've always been a fan of medical dramas, so getting to be involved in this new show was an incredible experience. Netflix is on the cusp of another hit, and the cast and crew did an amazing job—I can't wait for everyone to see Pulse,” shares DeLane. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, this Hispanic actress and filmmaker of Indigenous roots has been building a solid reputation for her talents in Hollywood. DeLane has proudly appeared in projects that have made significant strides in representation like Hulu's Prey, Marvel's Echo, FX's Mayans M.C., and Paramount's 1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story. Her credits also include Perry Mason, Hacks, NCIS: Hawai'i, Mrs. Davis, I Think You Should Leave, The Terminal List and many others. Fueled by her deep-rooted passion for addressing the lack of diversity and inclusion in Film and TV, DeLane expanded her career behind the scenes as a Producer. She produced the 2024 Telly Award Gold Winner for Best Music Video for Shania Twain's ‘Giddy Up', and the “Muhammad Ali” Diljit Featuring NLE Choppa music video which is currently nominated for Best International Music Video from the 2025 Hollywood Music Video Awards. Her production credits include working with numerous musical mega-stars, including Melissa Etheridge, Bush, and Paul Anka. As a creative entrepreneur, DeLane co-founded the female filmmaking community Ladies Above the Line and started the branding and marketing company Materials Makeover, sharing with other actors the practical knowledge she has gained from working in various roles across the industry. #768. REPEAT OUR GREATEST HIT EPISODES: Staying on brand, Brianna Chickenfry is hungover today while she joins Kaitlyn in NYC and quickly becomes KB's new favorite person. These two hit it off right off the bat by bonding over peeing their pants and the show ‘I Think You Should Leave.' They get even deeper by discussing what Brianna's childhood was like as an only child basically living in a room full of rodents and what her life is like now co-hosting podcasts with Dave Portnoy, Josh Richards and her best friend Grace. At the ripe age of 24, Bri built her brand off of being the hungover girl on TikTok, and since leaving her small hometown she has (almost) lost her Boston accent, sold out her first live podcast tour (in one day), and yet remained friends with the same people she grew up with. She's a real one. Which is why they decided to combine Book Clubs and read the same book this month. Wine was drank, secrets were shared and forces were joined on today's episode, you don't want to miss it. If you're LOVING this podcast, please follow and leave a rating and review below!
