Send us Fan MailOn this 120th episode of the Triple FFF we're going to chip away at the rock solid box office pairing of Author Andy Weir and screenwriter Drew Goddard as we discuss their two sci fi smash hits, 2015's The Martian directed by Ridley Scott and starringMatt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Michael Peña, Sean Bean, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, MacKenzie Davis, Donald Glover, and Jeff Daniels along with 2026's Project Hail Mary directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Millerstarring Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller and James Ortiz as the lovable and wacky alien Rocky. Returning to the show to discuss these crowd-pleasing and visually spectacular space epics is none other than Dr. David Johnson, DMD, whom I've called upon as a secret weapon in the last three films we've discussed because they were squarely in his wheelhouse: dancing and strutting his stuff with Michael, putting on a tough fit with Prada 1 & 2 and now his biggest passion and strength, HARD SCIENCE. Before we drift into deep space, the synopses: In the Martian, astronaut Mark Watney is impaled and presumed dead during a wicked Martian storm which causes his crew of astronaut/explorers to launch an emergency evacuation. Alive, wounded and alone on Mars Watney must use science, engineering, and endurance to survive long enough for Earth to mount an impossible rescue mission. In Project Hail Mary, Ryland Grace, a lone astronaut suffering from memory loss, awakens aboard a spacecraft on a desperate deep-space mission and gradually discovers he is humanity's last hope against a cosmic extinction event. Along the way, he encounters an alien astronaut from another species sent on a similar mission to protect its own civilization. Can the two work together to save their respective planets? Are these films fabulous or fails? Find out! Watch the podcast on Youtube:https://youtu.be/KqQbMzJx6wY
On this week's episode, the guys are talking bout Stumblin' from 2010 Season 36 Episode 9 with host Paul Rudd and musical guest, cashew lover, and tiny harmonica aficionado, Paul McCartney. But first, a run down of some of the movies you suggested that feature the use of colons. In fact, this episode is mostly about that with a little bit on Stumblin', Kristen Wiig's amazing Dolly Parton impression, and how no one knows the actual lyrics to the songs they're parodying. Andy has a hard out so you know he's going to mention it and then go over his hard out. Enjoy! Stumblin'Salacious B. Tonight on Damn You Hollywood, we review Masters of the Universe! Based on Mattel's iconic franchise, this 2026 fantasy adventure marks the long-awaited return of He-Man to the big screen, nearly forty years after the cult-classic 1987 film. Directed by Travis Knight and starring Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, the film follows Adam's journey back to Eternia, where he must embrace his destiny, wield the Power Sword, and defend his world from the sinister Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. Featuring a cast that includes Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, Kristen Wiig, and Idris Elba, the film blends sword-and-sorcery action, science-fiction spectacle, and classic 1980s nostalgia. After a troubled development process that bounced between studios for over a decade, Masters of the Universe finally arrives in theaters. Did Amazon MGM successfully bring Eternia to life, or should this franchise have remained in Castle Grayskull? Join us as we break it all down on Damn You Hollywood!Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59
Dave & Cody bring back 80's kid, Lance Burnett, to review Masters of the Universe, the new live-action He-Man movie 39 years in the making. The three of them split hard on this one. Dave had fun with it, Cody calls it a misfire, and Lance lands somewhere in between. They dig into the camp, the nostalgia, the sword swerve, Jared Leto's hard-to-understand Skeletor, and the thin handling of Prince Adam's missing years on Earth. Dave breaks down the full Mattel Cinematic Universe slate, all 16 projects, including an A24 Barney movie and M. Night Shyamalan directing a Magic 8 Ball series. The Pastor's Corner connects Prince Adam to the Beatitudes. Plus Hot Take Cody on the Supergirl backlash, and a round of the Movie Game.SPOILER WARNING: Full spoilers for Masters of the Universe after the news segment.Movie reviewed: Masters of the Universe (2026) — Directed by Travis Knight. Starring Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Idris Elba, Alison Brie, with Kristen Wiig as Roboto. In theaters now.https://linktr.ee/PopCulturePastorPod

Opening Line“Your Nerd Side is going full nostalgia this week — He-Man is back, She-Ra could be next, Supergirl is getting ready to fly, Spider-Noir is bringing Nicolas Cage into live-action Marvel weirdness, The Boys wrapped its final season, Star Wars is going tactical, Indiana Jones is returning to comics, Wolverine is slicing into PlayStation, and we're giving a shoutout to a voice actor gamers know well: Chris Murphy.”1. Masters of the Universe / He-ManThe new live-action Masters of the Universe movie is bringing back He-Man for a new generation. The cast includes Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, and Kristen Wiig as Roboto. Host angle:This is not just another reboot — this is Hollywood testing whether the big 1980s toy-cartoon universe can work again as a modern fantasy franchise.Quick line:“He-Man is back, Skeletor is back, and Hollywood is once again asking: can the power of Grayskull power a whole new movie universe?”2. She-Ra AngleEven if She-Ra is not the main focus yet, this is the natural fan question: if He-Man works, does She-Ra come next?Host angle:She-Ra may be the smartest expansion point because she has both 1980s nostalgia and a newer fanbase from the Netflix animated version.Quick line:“If Masters of the Universe hits, don't be shocked if fans immediately start chanting for She-Ra — because that may be the real franchise test.”3. Chris Murphy — Voice Actor SegmentChris Murphy is an American voice actor, writer, and producer. For gamers, he is best known as the voice of Murray in the Sly Cooper video game series. Behind The Voice Actors also lists him as Murray, and Streamily promotes him as “the voice of the amazing Murray from Sly Cooper.” Important clarification:This is not Senator Chris Murphy. This is Chris Murphy the voice actor, connected to PlayStation-era gaming nostalgia.Host angle:Murray was the big-hearted, funny muscle of the Sly Cooper crew. Chris Murphy helped make that character memorable for a whole generation of PlayStation fans.Quick line:“And a quick shoutout for gamers: Chris Murphy, the voice of Murray from Sly Cooper, is one of those actors whose voice lives rent-free in the heads of PlayStation kids everywhere.”4. SupergirlSupergirl is heading toward its June 26, 2026 theatrical release, with Milly Alcock starring as Kara Zor-El. The movie is inspired by the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, and recent coverage says the final trailer is pushing big space adventure, action, and Krypto energy. Host angle:This is DC trying to prove the new universe is bigger than just Superman and Batman.Quick line:“Supergirl is not just Superman's cousin anymore — DC is putting her front and center, and the question is whether fans are ready for Kara to carry the cape.”5. Spider-NoirSpider-Noir stars Nicolas Cage in a live-action noir-style Spider-Man story. Reuters reported that the series blends superhero storytelling with classic film noir and can be watched in black-and-white or color. Host angle:This is one of the strangest and coolest Marvel-adjacent projects because it is not trying to look like every other superhero show.Quick line:“Nicolas Cage as a 1930s noir Spider-Man? That is either crazy or brilliant — and honestly, with Cage, it might be both.”

That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Nick looks back at the ten former Saturday Night Live cast members who have been nominated for Academy Awards, including one who actually took home an Oscar. Each story has its own twist, and not all of the nominations were for acting. Kristen Wiig earned a nod for Best Screenplay, Michael McKean was nominated for Best Original Song, and George Coe, whose background gets explained here, received a nomination for Best Short Film. Along the way, you'll hear behind-the-scenes stories and clips from the films that earned those nominations. The episode features work from Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Joan Cusack, Dan Aykroyd, and Robert Downey Jr., the only former cast member to win an Oscar. It's a fun and informative look at the connection between SNL and the Academy Awards. [Ep 175]

"Lorne" is an American documentary film directed and produced by Morgan Neville about the creator of Saturday Night Live, Lorne Michaels. The film features exclusive, archival, and interview footage of notorious Saturday Night Live personalities, including Tina Fey, Chris Rock, Conan O'Brien, Maya Rudolph, Andy Samberg, John Mulaney, as well as Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Kristen Wiig, Mike Myers, and Paul Simon. Being the private individual he is, this is the closest anyone has come to understanding the real Lorne Michaels, or at least, as close as he will still allow. The movie adaptation of Andy Weir's novel, “Project Hail Mary” is a big box office hit. However, the first movie adaptation of a Andy Weir novel, that was a big box office hit, was “The Martian” starring Matt Damon in 2015. That's what I'm retro reviewing this week. Damon plays astronaut/botanist Mark Watney, who's part of a NASA mission on Mars. His team has to suddenly evacuate Mars and Mark is killed, or so his crew thinks. Surprise! He's alive and the movie becomes all about the mission to save Mark. Is it worth finding out what happens next enough to watch this? Find out on this episode of Movies Merica Live! “The Martian” also stars Jessica Chastain, Michael Pena, Chiewetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels, Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig, Sebastian Stan, Sean Bean, Aksel Hennie, Benedict Wong, Mackenzie Davis and Donald Glover. That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Nick heads back to January 10, 2009 to revisit the one and only time Neil Patrick Harris hosted Saturday Night Live. It turned out to be a terrific show, and Nick plays some of the funniest moments while sharing stories about how a few standout sketches from that season came together. He also talks about Harris' career arc, from child star on Doogie Howser, M.D. to Emmy-winning actor, singer, and all-around performer. A big turning point came with his scene-stealing role in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and you'll hear the classic moment that helped launch the second half of his career. The episode showcases strong work from Kristen Wiig, Bobby Moynihan, Fred Armisen, Jason Sudeikis, Abby Elliott and more. It also features one of the funniest sketches of that era, a gathering of Broadway stars debating the future of the Great White Way. It's a strong reminder of how well that episode worked and why Harris was such a natural fit for the show. [Ep 167]

That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Nick revisits one of Kate McKinnon's strangest and most lovable creations on Saturday Night Live, Barbara DeDrew from Whiskers R We. The fake cat adoption commercials became instant fan favorites between 2014 and 2023, built around Barbara's oddball delivery, heartfelt devotion to her cats, and the unpredictable chaos of live kittens wandering around the set. Nick plays several of the sketches and talks about how the character came together and why it worked so well. The bits featured a parade of game guest hosts, including Charlize Theron, Amy Adams, Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Wiig, Tiffany Haddish, and Billie Eilish, all trying to keep a straight face while McKinnon committed completely to the madness. It's a funny look back at a character that was weird in the best way and a reminder of just how fearless McKinnon was during her run on SNL. [Ep 166]

Gru standing out as a subversive antihero, dysfunctional family baggage, trying to lend some nuanced sympathy towards Miss Hattie, and longing for Agnes's innocence land as a few of the talking points for this episode.Directed by Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin, Despicable Me stars Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Elsie Fisher, Russell Brand, Julie Andrews, Will Arnett, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Chris Renaud, Jemaine Clement, Jack McBrayer, Danny McBride, Mindy Kaling, and Rob Huebel.Spoilers start at 27:40Create your podcast today! #madeonzencastrHere's how you can learn more about Palestine and IsraelHere's how you can keep up-to-date on this genocideHere's how you can send eSIM cards to Palestinians in order to help them stay connected onlineGood Word:• Jessica: the Life Is Strange series, particularly Life Is Strange 2• Arthur: She-Ra and the Princesses of PowerReach out at email2centscritic@yahoo.com if you want to recommend things to watch and read, share anecdotes, or just say hello!Be sure to subscribe, rate, and review on iTunes or any of your preferred podcasting platforms!Follow Arthur on Twitter, Goodpods, StoryGraph, Letterboxd, and TikTok: @arthur_ant18Follow Arthur on Bluesky: @arthur-ant18Follow the podcast on Twitter: @two_centscriticFollow the podcast on Instagram: @twocentscriticpodFollow Arthur on GoodreadsCheck out 2 Cents Critic Linktree

That Show Hasn't Been Funny In Years: an SNL podcast on Radio Misfits
Nick digs into a crowdsourced list that tried to crown the five most annoying characters in Saturday Night Live history, and as you might expect, he has some thoughts. The list came from an online survey, and while a few of the picks make sense, others spark some serious pushback, especially when genuinely funny characters get lumped in with the truly grating ones. He walks through each character, playing clips and breaking down where they came from, how they were written, and why audiences reacted so strongly. Performers like Julia Sweeney, Kristen Wiig, Chris Kattan, Rob Schneider, and Dana Carvey all make appearances, with guest turns from John Goodman, Joan Allen, Kirstie Alley, and Sting adding to the mix. It turns into a fun debate about why some characters wear out their welcome, why others get misunderstood, and how audience taste shifts over time. Annoying or not, these characters clearly left an impression, and Nick isn't shy about calling out the list when it misses the point. [Ep 161]

Nick celebrates one of the most delightfully chaotic recurring sketches in Saturday Night Live history — the fully improvised musical mayhem of Garth and Kat. Played by Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig, the offbeat duo would appear on Weekend Update wearing mismatched vests and identical blonde wigs, pretending to have rehearsed their songs, only to make them up live on the spot. Every appearance was completely unscripted, and the result was a mix of awkward harmonies, accidental rhymes, and uncontrollable laughter — even from the usually composed Seth Meyers. Nick explores how the sketches came together, why they became Wiig's personal favorite moments on the show, and plays several of their funniest performances. You'll also hear about a few surprise celebrity drop-ins who joined the improvised madness. A celebration of spontaneity, chemistry, and pure silliness, “Garth and Kat” remains one of SNL's most joyfully unpredictable acts. [Ep 151]

Nick spotlights five of the greatest impressionists in Saturday Night Live history — Dana Carvey, Chloe Fineman, Darrell Hammond, Bill Hader, and Melissa Villaseñor. Each performer brought a unique brilliance to the art of mimicry, shaping decades of the show's comedy legacy. From Carvey's classic takes on George Bush and Johnny Carson to Hammond's uncanny Bill Clinton and Hader's pitch-perfect Al Pacino, Nick revisits some of the most unforgettable impressions ever seen on the SNL stage. He also includes revealing interview clips of Fineman, Hammond, and Hader discussing their process and performing live examples of their uncanny vocal transformations. Finally, Villaseñor brings the episode home with two standout sketches showcasing her incredible range — nailing everyone from Kristen Wiig to Jennifer Lopez to a shockingly accurate Owen Wilson. A fun, fascinating look at the masters who turned imitation into high art on SNL. [Ep 148]

Nick takes a look back at Saturday Night Live Season 37, a strong and steady run marked by some unforgettable first-time hosts who went on to iconic status, including Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, and Mick Jagger. It was also a season of change, as Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg said their goodbyes, and John Mulaney stepped into his first year as head writer and producer. The episode revisits standout sketches like Alec Baldwin's spot-on Tony Bennett, a bridal shower derailed by a delightfully creepy Emma Stone, and Zooey Deschanel turning quirky into an art form on a talk show parody. Nick also highlights the final outing of the beloved soap opera spoof The Californians, packed with the full cast and a cameo from Steve Martin. Along the way, you'll hear great moments from hosts like Ben Stiller and Channing Tatum, plus some behind-the-scenes stories that make Season 37 a fan favorite worth remembering. [Ep 145]

The Third Part in our Failures in Teamwork Trilogy As we approach the tenth anniversary of the second time Matt Damon was left stranded on a planet (one host approves) we debate man's will to live in isolation for years if it means that Jessica Chastain will eventually save him. Not much of a debate! So instead we discuss (though not at such great a length as anything remotely involving The Chastain) the prospects of big budget Hollywood filmmaking such as this in 2025... because ten years ago I could get brief appearances by Kristen Wiig and Donald Glover and I'd expect nothing less from SIR Ridley Scott. We live in troubled times but you can enjoy this podcast. Patreon supporters get access to monthly bonus episodes including previous years of Movie Book Club!
