To address the water disparity in Cuyama, artists from across the country are exploring the issue through the Cuyama Water Justice Fellowship. The fellowship, facilitated by local nonprofit organizations Blue Sky Center and Quail Springs, is both bringing hope to the community and raising awareness of the ramifications of overpumping. Through most of history, male monarchs have been the norm. Their wives held the title of Queen or Empress, but were merely consorts, with little real power. Many monarchies, like France, The Ottoman Empire and Bhutan have strictly barred women from inheriting the throne and have never had a Queen Regnant, or a Queen in her own right. While others have rules loose enough that a handful of women have had the opportunity to claim the throne and become the highest authority in the land. Some achieved this by outliving their brothers, or not having any, some by seizing power from their husbands or male relatives, and a few actually married their own brothers in order to claim the throne. One nation on our list actually had a matrilineal monarchy for 300 years. Let's take a look at the top 7 nations who have been ruled by 10 or more Queens Regnant: 7. For most of history, men ruled the world. But for 3 decades in the late 1500s two powerful women dominated Europe. Catherine de Medici was Queen of France and Elizabeth I was Queen of England. Neither one was expected to be Queen. But both bid their time until they could seize power. They were brilliant, dynamic, determined, and sometimes ruthless leaders. But even with all they had in common, their differences made them fierce opponents. Catherine was a catholic, a wife and a mother, while Elizabeth was protestant and single by choice. Dozens of books and dramas have focused on the epic rivalry between Elizabeth and her northern neighbor, Mary Queen of Scots. And while she is an important part of the story, Elizabeth's relationship with her greater nemesis, Catherine has long been forgotten. However, season 2 of the Starz series Serpent Queen, and the recent book Blood, Fire & Gold by Estelle Paranque have resurrected the historic frienemies. So let's examine the parallel lives and epic rivalry between Elizabeth I and Catherine de Medici. Join me every Tuesday when I'm Spilling the Tea on History! Royal Couples who were really in LOVE ❤️

Through most of history, royals were stuck in unhappy, arranged marriages. But, sometimes, after getting through the awkward wedding night, royal brides and grooms found they had a lot in common and formed intimate, passionate, life-long connections. Some kings even ignored the court ladies clamoring to be their mistresses, and had eyes only for their Queen. From a medieval Queen who rode into war at her husband's side, to a renaissance emperor who trusted his wife to rule. From a Queen who risked death to continue sleeping with her husband, to a Princess who was betrothed to the heir, but ended up happy with the spare. While these monarchs might have been romantic heroes in the bedchamber, they were far from flawless. Some were cruel and violent towards their enemies and even their own people. But they prove that happily ever afters really can come true! At least until a lack of medical knowledge came in to turn their Julia Quinn bodice rippers into Nicholas Sparks tragedies. Let's meet 4 royal couples, who were brought together by arranged marriages but ended up falling in love! 1. King Edward I of England & Eleanor of Castile 2. Holy Roman Emperor Charles V & Isabella of Portugal 3. Queen Maria II of Portugal & Prince Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha 4. In this episode of Spilling the T, we're unpacking three of the most talked-about — and misunderstood — shifts happening in health and fitness right now. From the return of ultra-thin aesthetics in media and social platforms, to the rapid rise of GLP-1 medications and peptides, to the evolution of hybrid coaching with AI and human support — these trends aren't separate. They're connected. And they're telling us something important about where the industry is headed. In this conversation, we discuss:Why “skinny is back” isn't about leanness — but about shrinking, muscle loss, and strength being deprioritized in visual cultureThe difference between thinness, health, and capability — and why muscle still matters for longevityHow body positivity was a necessary movement, but how it became distorted when acceptance turned into stagnationWhy the current push toward extreme thinness feels like a cultural overcorrectionThe real impact of GLP-1s and peptides — and why fat loss without strength, nourishment, and structure is short-sightedHow rapid weight loss can outpace metabolic health, muscle retention, and long-term resilienceWhy weight loss ≠ health, and aesthetics ≠ sustainabilityThe rise of hybrid training (AI + human coaching) as a response to both extremesHow modern coaching is shifting from pushing harder to protecting strength, recovery, and longevityWhat true body respect actually looks like moving forward Our take:Body positivity didn't fail.Discipline didn't fail.Extremes failed. The future of health and fitness isn't about disappearing — or refusing to evolve. It's about building a body that's strong, capable, supported, and able to carry you forward. This episode is for anyone who feels caught between conflicting messages — and wants a smarter, more sustainable path forward. Follow Coach Jac on IG: https://www.instagram.com/jaqioh/ Connect with Jenny (Coach JVB)Instagram: @coach_jvbWORK WITH ME - https://strongjvb.typeform.com/to/aqFEZtP1Website: coachjvb.comSubscribe  to STRONG Fitness Mag - Use Code STRONGGIRLS3 - https://simplecirc.com/subscribe/strong-fitness-magazine https:// DISCLAIMER: The opinions, beliefs, and viewpoints expressed by the hosts and guests on this podcast do not necessarily represent or reflect the official policy, opinions, beliefs, and viewpoints of Disenyo.co LLC and its employees.

How much do you spend on food every month? Food is one expense we simply can't go without – we all need to eat, after all! But you may have noticed that your morning eggs, lunchtime sandwich, or favourite late-night snack is costing more than it used to. How have food prices changed over the past year? What's driving the price increases? And what's in store for our grocery bills in 2026? Our host Stefania Secola speaks to economists Elisabeth Wieland and Zivile Zekaite to answer these questions. The views expressed are those of the speakers and not necessarily those of the European Central Bank. Recorded on 20 January 2026 and published on 26 January 2026. In this episode: 02:23 Is food really getting more expensive? How do we track changes in food prices? How did food inflation develop in 2025? And what role does media coverage play? 05:39 Which foods are especially affected? Some prices are up, others are down. Why have items like coffee, cocoa and meat been hit the hardest? 08:26 Have some products also become cheaper? While meat and sweet treats have become more expensive, items like vegetables and butter have become cheaper. The overall food basket tells an interesting story and is influenced by its different components. 09:13 What's driving price increases for certain products? Raw material costs, climate change, and supply and demand factors all affect food prices. Rising wages and energy costs also play a role. 12:35 Why do food prices matter so much? Food is a big part of our budget and cannot be replaced by other items. Also, since we go to the supermarket often, food prices play a big role in shaping our inflation expectations. 19:10 What can we do about rising food prices? Temporary vs structural changes – how do they differ? And what's the ECB's role when it comes to inflation and food prices? 20:52 What's in store for our grocery bills in 2026? Good news: food inflation is set to ease in the coming year. So, what does this mean for your wallet? 22:06 Our guests' hot tips Elisabeth and Zivile share their hot tips. With the Sony Open in Hawaii opening the year, the girls break down Chris Gotterup's win, what it says about his rise on TOUR, and why the first event of the season always brings a little chaos. They run through the biggest moments from Hawaii, including Gotterup's emotional post-round interview that somehow turned into a Josh Allen crying comparison…same tears, very different endings. The episode also covers Ryan Gerard staying in the mix, Patrick Rodgers' continued search for his first win, Robert MacIntyre's snapped putter (spicey golfer) and honest self-reflection, plus encouraging signs from Jordan Spieth and Jake Knapp. The highlight of the episode is a candid interview with Hannah VanDerLaan, where the conversation shifts from scorecards to real life. Hannah opens up about love, life on TOUR, and what the 2026 season is shaping up to look like, offering an inside look at the personal side of the game that doesn't always make the broadcast. Looking ahead, Kass and Syd preview The American Express in La Quinta, talking through the three-course setup, the Saturday cut, and why this week tends to deliver something unexpected. They discuss Scottie Scheffler's season debut, Adam Scott making his first appearance at the event, Sepp Straka returning as defending champion, Will Zalatoris' long-awaited return, and the infamous bunker on the 16th hole. New season, new conversations, and plenty of Birdie Little Secrets still to come. Tune in every THURSDAY for new episodes! We jet-set from Beverly Hills to Palm Beach with special guest Taja Abitbol—entrepreneur, wellness visionary, and star of Netflix's hot new reality series Members Only: Palm Beach. Taja, known for her luxury wellness brand Taja Drip, shares her journey from her hippie-named, Moroccan-Tunisian roots to pioneering anti-aging treatments in Miami's Faena Hotel. No booze, no Tylenol, just peptides, NAD, glutathione, and a glowy lifestyle that keeps people guessing her age (she looks 28, but that's not the number!). Taja breaks down how NAD slows aging, and teases her soon-to-launch ingestible wellness line—no gummies, just potent, high-dose liquid formulas. We share hilarious IV therapy memories from OC Fashion Week, complete with cleavage-forward nurses and jokes about IV swapping gone wild, as we bond over clean living, hot hair (shoutout to Paris in Beverly Hills), and spiritual connection, before diving into the real secret to longevity: love, joy, and meaningful relationships. The conversation turns intimate as we all reflect on our long-term relationships (Taja's been with her Capricorn partner for 15 years!), the sacredness of loyalty, and not forgiving people who knew exactly what they were doing. Patrik drops wisdom about dialing numbers with intention and calling people spiritually, while Pol' brings his signature warmth and Saint Peter Paul origin story full of Armenian heritage and holiday birthday charm. She spills the tea on the show's glam cast, wild country club culture, and behind-the-scenes drama—think Palm Royale meets Housewives with fashion, philanthropy, and the occasional pineapple-shaped clue about swingers. But why do we count our collective journey through the ages in these integers? A day makes sense, that's one rotation of the earth on its axis and can easily be marked by the rising and setting of the sun. And a year is one orbit of the earth around the sun, traveling through the 4 seasons again and again. But why 60 seconds in a minute, 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week and 12 months in a year? Dahlia Lithwick is joined by former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah, who brings her extensive experience trying and supervising federal criminal cases to a discussion of what the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's sexual abuse can teach us about justice. She suggests that the Trump administration's eleventh-hour switchback tactic of calling for investigations of only Democrats speaks volumes about how the Justice Department is functioning these days, proving that vindictive prosecutions are the only game in town, bonus if they also have the effect of power-washing the president's shadow from the scandal. Next, they turn to the extraordinary scenes in a Virginia courtroom this week, as the DOJ's case against former FBI director and Trump foe James Comey seemed ready  to fall apart at the seams. As this administration's practice of political interference in legal proceedings is supercharged by dear leader's “Dear Pam”  posts to “his” AG Pam Bondi, this conversation highlights why judicial integrity and the ever-expanding ranks of judges refusing to accept lies, are among the last best hopes for equal justice under the law in America.  Learn more about your ad choices.
