Joseph and I went to DarkCon this weekend. Our friend Gini Koch was the Author Guest of Honor, and we went to help her out and offer whatever support we could. In the process we got to hang out with many other fun people, some old, some new. Follow along as we talk about the whole thing, including some moments where "You are there!". Thank you for helping us grow, and please comment or ask questions. (if you have a spare moment, hey, a 5-star review on iTunes would be fantastic!) and also check out the links below. Darryl Dawson has been writing professionally since 2009. His first book, the short story collection The Crawlspace, was published in October of that year. He is a Los Angeles native currently residing in Phoenix, AZ, where he works as a video editor for a local TV station. His occupation serves as the inspiration behind his new long-form horror story If It Bleeds, available in January 2014. He will occasionally dabble in photography or take in a baseball or pro soccer game.

Oh, and I know that I said I would link up a story, but I can't figure out how that would work. And I apologize for the sound issues - we were having some recordings issues and we worked them out best we could, but the sound did suffer for it.The closing song was a performance by Miss Ebony, but you don't see that on an audio podcast, do you? But you do get to hear a couple drunks, so that is something.DarkCon info is here - http://darkcon.org/Morrie Carter's/Ms. Ebony's Memorial Service will be held:Saturday, January 11th at 12:00 Noonat The Alwun House Gardens1204 E. From Michael D'Ambrosio: My writing career started in 1999 during one of my Middle East tours due to boredom at the time. We were in a spell where there weren’t any good sci-fi movies or books coming out to capture my attention. A friend jokingly suggested that I should write my own. I thought about it and figured, “Why not?” From there Michael has written a trilogy, a series and the beginning of another; in a total of eight books. He has also written screen plays for all of these books and straight screen plays that he may be adapting this year to books. We sat down with Michael for the first time at DarkCon in 2010, this is the interview we can share with his fans, and new readers interested in space adventures, space opera, time-travel, or adult horror.
Wow this show just doesn't stop. Tons of classics, tons of new, tons of fun. 'Nuff said.
Mike, John, James and Adam try desperately to get a good hate on but just come back with more questions than answers. Except as to why in fact there are no black serial killers. If you have a comment or question you can write us at theaftershowpodcast@gmail.com or call and leave a message at (206) 984-1298. RPG Discussion with Chris Hanrahan and Brian Isikoff from 2d6 Feet in a Random Direction 0:37 – This episode is a co-production with 2d6 Feet in a Random Direction, and also appeared as their Episode 11.2:11 – If you find what we have to say interesting, check out Episode 34 of the Sons of Kryos, where they touch on similar issues.2:55 – I don't need GMs for OrcCon any more, but we could definitely use players for games of all types.4:39 – I'm going to be taking an intentional break from the show, but if you want to find out what I'm up to, check out my gaming weblog, A Fistful of Games.6:38 – And now the actual show.7:22 – We discuss the Endgame Mini-Con in January 2007, focusing primarily on Spirit of the Century, but touching briefly on Best Friends and The Mountain Witch as well.17:13 – During our reflections on our gaming, we start thinking about player investment and players' responsibilities to each other. 29:46 – We take a brief excursion into theories of improvisational theatre and how they can apply to gaming. Keith Johnstone's Impro gets particular notice.36:00 – We take some of these ideas to the extreme and look at how they apply to GM-less games. Eventually we come back to our core ideas about investment and responsibility.48:54 – Chris takes us on a brief tangent about younger players, with special emphasis on Faery's Tale and The Princes' Kingdom.54:08 – We attempt to sum up our preachy philosophical wandering.56:29 – I try to convince Brian and Chris to come down my way for gaming, especially for the Strategicons.59:54 – Brian gives a brief shout-out to DarkCon.1:00:46 - We say goodnight. --Paul Discuss this episode in the HG,WT forum
