Steel is one of the most important drivers of ship recycling values, but recycling offers are not based on steel prices alone. In the first episode of Steel, Ships, and Recycling Values, Nayeem Noor, VP - Business Development and Communications at GMS, speaks with Jamie Dalzell, Head of the GMS Singapore Office, about how recyclers assess steel markets when pricing vessels for recycling. The discussion looks at why plate prices matter, how re-rollable steel is valued, and why local demand, financing, currency, inventories, import pressure, and timing risk all influence the final recycling offer. The episode also explains why strong steel prices do not always lead to more vessels being sold for recycling. Freight markets, trading opportunities, seasonal timing, and owner strategy all play an important role in deciding whether a ship actually comes to market. For shipowners, brokers, financiers, traders, and maritime professionals, this episode offers a practical look at how recycling values are formed and why steel remains central to the global ship recycling market. Stay tuned to GMS Podcasts for more episodes of Inside the Markets covering ship recycling trends, trading flows and maritime market intelligence from key recycling and shipping hubs worldwide. Ken and Anthony react to Mary Kay's bombshell that Watson actually led the QB competition early on, debating whether Shedeur closing the gap is a good sign or just a product of Watson looking unplayable. Ken makes his most pointed argument yet that starting Shedeur by default would be doing him a disservice, reiterating that going from the veteran to the young guy is always easier than the reverse. Plus, Ken teases a potential Andrew Berry move that could make him one of the best GMs in Browns history if it comes to fruition.
In this episode of Take-Away with Sam Oches, Sam talks with Ahsan Jiva, executive vice president of strategy and transformation at Mellow Mushroom, a brand that's grown to about 170 locations in 17 states in its 50-plus years in business. Mellow Mushroom has long been a full-service concept with bar service and countercultural vibes, but as part of a three-year transformation that Ahsan is spearheading, it's rolling out a “fast fine” model that offers some counter service while protecting the core menu and branding that Mellow Mushroom has become known for. Ahsan joined the podcast to talk about the ingredients to that transformation and how the flexible model they've designed is empowering franchisees and GMs to take the business to the next level. In this conversation, you'll find out why:Barbell pricing strategies can extend to beverageConsider the fringes of your menu for innovationThe pizza category may have a use case problemPizza also has an experience problemChains should consider the jam band approach where no two experiences are alikeNo matter how varied your experience is, the brand must be consistentThe best use for new tech tools is to supercharge your GMRegister for CREATE here: https://informaconnect.com/create/Have feedback or ideas for Take-Away? Traffic is returning through the Strait of Hormuz, but for the global ship recycling market, the timing has come too late. In Week 23 of 2026, vessel movements through Hormuz improved materially, even though the formal US-Iran framework remains unsigned. Brent crude eased into the USD 95–97 per barrel range as markets priced in de-escalation, while freight markets moved in the opposite direction. The Baltic Dry Index climbed above 3,200, and Capesize earnings touched nearly USD 49,500 per day, keeping older vessels trading rather than heading for recycling. Across the subcontinent, the key issue remains unchanged: demand is present, financing is available, pricing is firm, but tonnage supply remains limited. The pre-monsoon beaching window has now effectively closed, shifting the main constraint from geopolitics to weather. This week's episode examines: • Strait of Hormuz traffic recovery and US-Iran deal uncertainty • Brent crude easing and global energy market reaction • Baltic Dry Index strength and Capesize freight earnings • Why strong freight continues to delay ship recycling supply • Bangladesh ship recycling market stability and Taka performance • Chattogram demand, LC financing, and monsoon impact • Indian Rupee recovery and Alang market conditions • RBI policy measures and India's ship recycling outlook • Pakistan Rupee strength and Gadani pricing leadership • Turkey's Lira stability, inflation pressure, and Aliaga's EU-regulated niche • Subcontinent recycling prices, vessel supply, and cash buyer sentiment • Why the market enters monsoon season with demand intact but supply absent Key market takeaway: The Strait of Hormuz is gradually returning to operation, Brent crude has eased, and currency conditions have improved across parts of the subcontinent. However, dry bulk freight remains strong, older vessels continue trading, and the monsoon has now closed the practical recycling window. The traffic returns. The window is gone. Footballguys The Audible - Fantasy Football Info for Serious Fans
On this episode of On the Couch, Sigmund Bloom sits down with Patrick Daugherty to dig into one of the most important — and misunderstood — questions in football: Are NFL general managers actually getting better… or are we just grading them on vibes and results. Pat's annual GM rankings spark a wide‑ranging conversation about team‑building, risk‑taking, politics inside front offices, and how fantasy managers can learn from the best (and worst) decision‑makers in the league. From blockbuster trades to quiet roster construction, Bloom and Pat break down what separates the sharp GMs from the ones who are just surviving. This one goes deep — team philosophy, talent evaluation, organizational psychology, and how all of it trickles down to fantasy football strategy. watch on YouTube -> https://youtube.com/live/uk8W88gMTDQ ⏱️ Timestamps 00:00 — Is John Schneider coming for Howie Roseman's crown 05:00 — Will the AJ Brown trade go down as a Howie masterstroke 10:09 — Is AJ Brown going to be happy in New England 13:08 — Does losing AJ Brown expose Jalen Hurts 19:13 — Why Monti Ossenfort ranks dead last 27:21 — What we know (and don't know) about the three new NFL GMs 32:06 — Does the Myles Garrett trade redeem the Ty Simpson pick for the Rams 38:29 — Why great NFL and fantasy GMs must take risks 43:40 — Why political GMs might actually be the worst GMs

The guys begin the second hour discussing their least favorite Detroit sports GMs at the moment.
Ken and Lima take the final calls of the morning as the fan base slowly comes around on the trade, with a caller from Kentucky making the most clear-eyed point of the day: the Browns took a swing on Watson, it did not work, and at least they are trying. Ken agrees in principle but draws the line at forgiveness, saying the swords do not come down on the Watson trade until the day they make the playoffs, and not a moment before. The conversation turns to Andrew Berry's press conference in minutes and Ken lays out exactly what is at stake for him personally: if he gets fired at the end of this season before he gets to draft the quarterback, his entire legacy is the guy who traded for Deshaun Watson and traded away Myles Garrett, and second chances for fired GMs are not guaranteed. Ken closes the show with the stakes as clear as they have ever been: Berry needs to be here to finish what he started, because if he is not, the whole painful exercise was for nothing.

After seven weeks of uncertainty, the global ship recycling market finally received its strongest diplomatic breakthrough yet. In Week 22 of 2026, the United States and Iran reached a tentative agreement to extend the ceasefire and begin reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement triggered a sharp decline in Brent crude oil prices, with Brent falling back toward USD 96-97 per barrel as markets began pricing in the prospect of restored Middle East energy flows. Yet despite the diplomatic progress, the ship recycling sector remains constrained by one critical factor: timing. While the Hormuz reopening narrative gathered momentum, the subcontinent recycling markets entered the final stages of the pre-monsoon season. With Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan approaching monsoon-related operational slowdowns, the long-awaited improvement in market sentiment arrived just as recycling activity faces its seasonal closure. Freight markets also remain supportive for vessel owners. The Baltic Dry Index strengthened above 3,100, Capesize earnings exceeded USD 44,000 per day, and dry bulk freight returns continued encouraging owners to keep older vessels trading rather than recycling them. This week's episode examines: • US-Iran ceasefire extension and Hormuz reopening developments • Brent crude oil decline and energy market reaction • Baltic Dry Index performance and dry bulk freight trends • Capesize and Panamax earnings outlook • Bangladesh ship recycling market conditions and LC financing stability • Indian Rupee recovery and Alang recycling market developments • Pakistan Rupee strength and Gadani pricing trends • Turkey's inflation outlook and Aliaga recycling market activity • Monsoon season impact on ship recycling decisions • Vessel supply shortages and demolition market sentiment • Cash buyer outlook and subcontinent recycling pricing • Global ship recycling market trends for owners, brokers, recyclers, and investors Key market takeaway: The deal the recycling market waited months to see has finally arrived. Oil prices have eased, diplomatic momentum has improved, and the Strait of Hormuz may eventually reopen. However, freight earnings remain elevated, vessel supply remains scarce, and the monsoon season is effectively closing the recycling window across the subcontinent. The passage may finally be opening. The recycling window has already closed. Every Dungeon Master hits a wall eventually. The prep feels like a chore. The session you used to look forward to is now the thing you're dreading. The spark that made you fall in love with running games has gone quiet. In this special live panel recorded at FanX 2025, Justin, Tanner, and Cayden sit down in front of a live audience to tackle one of the most real and rarely talked-about challenges behind the screen: DM burnout. This isn't just a conversation about surviving — it's about understanding what burnout actually looks like, why it happens to even the most passionate Game Masters, and how to find your way back to the table with energy and excitement. Here's what the panel digs into:What burnout really looks like — and why it's not always obvious when it's happening to you.The different flavors of burnout — creative, emotional, social, and scheduling exhaustion each hit differently and need different solutions. What causes it — from over-prepping to under-appreciated effort, the panel gets honest about the real culprits.Prevention vs. recovery — because keeping the spark alive looks different than reigniting it after it's gone out.Practical tools and techniques — including leaning on your players, co-DMing, running one-shots, and reconnecting with what first made you love TTRPGs.What NOT to do — the traps that make burnout worse when you're already running on empty. How players can help — and how GMs can ask for support in ways that feel natural rather than vulnerable.Whether you're deep in the weeds right now or just want to make sure you never get there, this episode is for you. This episode is for the DMs who know the real end boss isn't the dragon — it's burnout. And it's for every storyteller who's ever wondered, "Am I doing this right?" — and showed up anyway. Thanks for listening to today's show. The fantasy world was doing just fine. Wizards were arguing about spell slots. Fighters were polishing swords. Rogues were stealing absolutely everything not nailed down. Then somebody invented firearms. Now the wizard wants an arcane revolver, the artificer is building a rifle powered by dragon crystals, and the fighter has spent twenty minutes explaining why attaching a bayonet to a musket absolutely still counts as melee combat. Progress is inevitable. Chaos is optional. Players will choose chaos every time. Show Notes This episode dives into one of the most divisive and surprisingly fun topics in tabletop RPG design: firearms. We explore what happens when black powder, pistols, muskets, revolvers, and magical weapons enter worlds traditionally ruled by swords and spellbooks. The answer is not simply bigger damage numbers. Firearms change the entire feel of a setting. We dig into how guns influence worldbuilding, tone, and gameplay. A lone flintlock in a low fantasy campaign tells a very different story than enchanted firearms in a magitech world. The conversation expands into how technology reshapes societies, military power, adventuring groups, and even the place of magic itself. The episode also looks at practical considerations for GMs and players. We discuss balancing firearms mechanically, deciding how common they should be, and avoiding the trap of letting realism overwhelm gameplay. Sometimes the important question is not whether firearms belong in fantasy. It is what kind of fantasy world they create. Whether you are building a black powder campaign, introducing fantasy gunslingers, or creating magical firearms powered by spells and crystals, this episode explores ways to make firearms feel intentional and exciting at the table. Key Takeaways Firearms affect setting design as much as combat rules. The rarity and availability of guns heavily influence world tone. Black powder weapons create a very different atmosphere than magitech firearms. Introducing firearms changes warfare, economics, and social structures. Balance should focus on gameplay experience rather than strict realism. Reload mechanics and weapon limitations help preserve design space. Magical firearms create new character options without replacing classic fantasy roles. GMs should establish expectations for firearms early in campaign planning. Different RPG systems support firearms in different ways. Every firearm added to a setting raises bigger questions about technology and progress. Welcome to the RPGBOT Podcast. $60,000 in 4 days from ONE hotel. That's what Benjamin Gregory pulled off — and he didn't get the job from Google ads, yard signs, or door knocking. He got it from LinkedIn.In this episode I'm breaking down a real commercial pressure washing job from a real student. Benjamin packed his rig, traveled from his home market down to the Carolinas, and walked away with a $60K invoice in 4 days of on-site work. Most pressure washers will go their entire career without seeing a single check like that — and the reason isn't talent or equipment. It's where they're looking for customers.LinkedIn is where hotel general managers, facility managers, property management regional directors, and commercial real estate decision-makers actually live during the work week. They're not on Nextdoor. They're not searching Google for "pressure washing near me." They're scrolling LinkedIn between meetings — and almost nobody in our industry is showing up there.Tonight I'm walking you through:▸ The exact $60K / 4-day job — what was cleaned, how it was priced, how the crew pulled it off▸ Benjamin's LinkedIn playbook — who to connect with, what to post, the DM that opens the door▸ Why the buyers you actually want are on LinkedIn (and why your competition isn't)▸ How to price a commercial hotel package the right way (don't itemize, sell the outcome)▸ The 4-zone execution plan for big multi-day commercial jobs▸ Your this-week LinkedIn punch list — what to do tomorrow morning to start building this pipeline before summer fills upThis is for the pressure washing business owner doing $80K–$200K in residential who's ready to stop chasing $300 driveways and start landing real commercial work. The play is open. The window is mid-May. Your competition isn't paying attention.

Anders and Jess are in for Ian and we are taking a deep dive into the Seahawks official schedule. 12:30 - If you said the Mariners would be a game out of first place with the lacking we've seen from those we have higher expectations for this season - would you be ok with it prior to this season? Anders and Jess discuss where the roster is lacking and their confidence levels on them coming back. We shouldn't have to wait for the rest of the conference to suck to believe in the Mariners' ability to get to and win in the postseason. Time to dive into the Mariners' pitching rotation and what we're seeing there. The World Cup is coming to Seattle and Anders is pumped for it to not only be in America, but to be in his hometown. Ticket prices are dropping, and that's a good sign for fans to be able to attend. Danny O'Neil, The Dang Apostrophe! Danny used to hate NFL schedule releases, but with the changes in broadcasting, he thinks it's fun now. He thinks when it comes to International games, most coaches and GMs would choose that travel over Hard Knocks. The Seahawks took one for the team on doing the show this year. There are a ton of distractions with Seahawks' rivals this off-season. Is Danny drinking the Rams' Kool-Aid? Finally, Danny sees a favorable first half of the season for the Seahawks and that Mike Macdonald has a more buttoned-down approach than Pete Carroll did. Ty Dane Gonzalez, Locked on Mariners joins us to talk about what we've seen from the Mariners. Should Cal have gone to the IL earlier than now? At least they didn't wait too long for what seemed like an inevitable decision. If you look at the state of catching around the league, they're not in a bad situation with Mitch Garver behind the plate. Ty and Anders dive into the 6-man rotation and whether it's the best decision for the team right now. If you're leading a service department or responsible for fixed ops performance, this is one of those conversations you don't skip. In this episode, I sit down with someone I've known and respected for years, Mitch Kudler, COO of Simms Auto Group… a guy who didn't just study the business, he lived every role in it. From technician to advisor to GM to executive leadership, Mitch brings a perspective that most leaders simply don't have. We dig into what most GMs misunderstand about service, why retention is the real game (not transactions), and the small decisions that quietly cost dealerships millions, like losing tire business or failing to create a real first service experience. Mitch breaks down the importance of transparency, why MPIs and video are still wildly underutilized, and how culture inside your store directly impacts customer trust. This conversation also hits leadership hard, how to unify sales and service, why most managers don't actually understand their numbers, and the simple but powerful act of walking your store and listening. If you want stronger retention, better CSI, and a team that actually works together… this one will stay with you. And personally? This one meant a lot. Mitch is one of those people I've always admired from afar—and every time we talk, I walk away better. Dealer Talk with Jen Suzuki Podcast |
In this episode of Service Drive Revolution #358, Chris, Hogi, and Adam dive into a controversial trend: dealerships using social media to make fun of their own customers. We also follow up on a massive career question (promotions) from our @YouTube community regarding the value of a degree versus actual "saddle time" on the service drive. Plus: Chris shares an incredible story about a million-dollar job offer that proves why you can never keep results a secret.

April 17, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 121 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the final known pre-draft visitor that the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted on Wednesday. That means we discuss DB Treydan Stukes, an Arizona product, following his visit to Pittsburgh on Wednesday. We go over Stukes' fit in Pittsburgh and when he is most likely to get drafted. After reviewing the final list of the Steelers' pre-draft visitors for 2026, Alex and I spend some time talking about whether the team will select a quarterback this year and how soon if they do. We also discuss how many other teams are likely to select a quarterback during the first four rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft and if that might impact the Steelers when it comes to them waiting to select one until after the fourth round. The Steelers made their three new coordinators, Brian Angelichio (OC), Patrick Graham (DC), and Danny Crossman (STC), available to the media on Friday morning and on the heels of those sessions, we discuss a few notable things that were said by each of the three coaches. Alex conducted a live mock draft on Thursday night, and he streamed it on YouTube. Additionally, several listeners took part in it as GMs of other NFL teams. We discuss the team that Alex was able to draft for the Steelers during that four round mock and we go over a few takeaways that were learned from it as well. This 84-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we end this show by answering several email questions we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
