BANG! @southernvangard #radio presents the #TheMightyVIC interview session! Faithful listeners, we’re gonna say it like this - we’ve really outdone ourselves on this one. You can scour the internet all you want - you will NOT find an interview of this caliber in print, audio or video, trust. #VicPadilla is undoubtedly one of the best producers to ever do it in this world we call hip-hop, and is directly responsible for laying the foundation of many other greats as well. We kick things off by getting into his early days of DJing, the influence his sisters had on him musically and ditching school every Friday to hit #DownstairsRecords in the #NYC subway. Vic talks about his transition to producing via a music production school, cutting his teeth early on hip-hop AND house records and connecting with #Juju & #PsychoLes to form one of the greatest production teams of all time - The #Beatnuts. After that it’s an onslaught of incredible stories - #Fashion / #AlTariq, #KoolGRap, #GodfatherDon, #Nas, #ChrisLighty. #SteveStoute, #KuriousJorge, #NoID, #DugInfinite, #KanyeWest, #DJClue, #CountBassD - the list goes on. The kicker is - even after almost 2 hours of rapping - we STILL didn’t cover it all. Not to worry - there WILL be a part 2. Alright ya’ll, enough is enough - pour it out, light it up, sit back and tune in to what is ALWAYS #smithsonian #grade #twiceaweek // southernvangard.com // @southernvangard on #applepodcast #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud // #hiphop #rap #undergroundhiphop #DJ #mix #interview #podcasts #ATL ##QUEENS #WORLDWIDE Recorded live October 29, 2017 @ Dirty Blanket Studios, Marietta, GA southernvangard.com @southernvangard on #applepodcasts #stitcherradio #soundcloud #mixcloud twitter/IG: @jondoeatl @southernvangard @cappuccinomeeks

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Peace. You might have heard us alluding to the homie Chad's tapes on recent episodes, well here's the deal. Out of the blue the dude hit up the Hip Hop hoarder @Large looking to donate his legendary tape collection to @'s Dope Vault. The collection is full of dope tapes that used to get played back in the school days on one of those yellow Sony Sports Walkman's with the latch that flipped over the buttons or on a ghetto blaster wedged between the two front seats of Chad's pops late model Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue (It might have been a Plymouth Diplomat, same damn thing really). This was inevitably going to lead to a mix of some music that could be found on these tapes... and here it is! As a matter of fact the .mp3 rip of DJ Stress' "Homeless Fate" was amongst the tapes. Thanks to the homie Chad for keeping it in the fam and for keeping a brother laced with many a dub back in the day.
