Supreme Clientele is the second studio album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah, released on February 8, 2000 by Epic Records. The album showcases Ghostface's signature up-tempo, stream-of-consciousness rhyme style, and features guest appearances from Cappadonna, GZA, Masta Killa, Method Man, Raekwon, Redman, RZA, U-God, and others. It features affiliates of what would become members of Theodore Unit and T.M.F. Supreme Clientele contains a large amount of production from group member RZA, who also re-worked and remixed beats from other producers involved, as a means to create a unified and cohesive sound for the album.[1]Upon its release, Supreme Clientele debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 chart and number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, while selling 134,000 copies in its first week.[2] On March 8, 2000, it was certified Gold in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[3] The album featured the singles "Apollo Kids" and "Cherchez La Ghost", which, despite receiving limited airplay, went on to achieve notable chart success.Supreme Clientele was met with mostly strong reviews from music critics, despite its contrasting sound and style to that of his previous album, Ironman (1996). It was praised and noted for Ghostface Killah's obscure and creative lyricism, and for the cohesive format of production.[1] Supreme Clientele was the most acclaimed of all the second generation Wu-Tang projects, and featured the most contributions from RZA during this era.[4] Along with Ironman and Fishscale (2006), it is often ranked as Ghostface Killah's best work. It has also been regarded as one of the best solo Wu-Tang albums,[5] and has received accolades for being one of the best albums of the 2000s.[6]

The 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' Hulu-featured series has made major noise since its 2019 debut, and although the pandemic put a hold on the forthcoming second season, "Saga" star Johnell Young lets us know that we are all in for an amazing new offering. Young is definitely in good company as fellow music co-star Dave East has helped bring life to their famed characters GZA and Method Man, respectively. The two have not only brought the hip-hop icons to life on the small screen but both Young and East have also gone head-to-head and balled each other up. While Young does admit that East and Migos rapper Quavo have some skill, they can't see him on the court. Speaking on his experience of portraying Wu-Tang member GZA, Johnell explains to Power Mornings co-hosts Teddy Mora, Demi Lobo, and Noah Ayala that the legendary rapper GZA has made himself available to him by helping him capture his true essence for the television show. Johnell goes on to share what he learned about himself during the lockdown period of the coronavirus pandemic, how Quavo was the first first to give him respect for his "Saga" portrayal, where he sees his acting career heading, and chooses between Kanye West's 'Donda' or Drake's 'Certified Lover Boy' albums.   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The foundation for why Resident Runners was started in 2013 is pretty simple: three men who enjoyed each other's company, getting together for run and then grabbing a beer. In 2021 the bond between Rashaan Rogers, Eric Blevens and Raymond Hailes is stronger than ever, a global pandemic and fatherhood during social unrest would do that. Because now as fathers, they understand the impact of their contributions in running will have for their children, on and off the course. Whether it is supporting a local business like Gueros for their taco runs, collaborating with other crews under the Under Armour family, and hosting the best after party for the New York City marathon. “YOU EVER HEARD OF THE DREAM TEAM? WELL, WE'RE THE MEAN TEAM, WUSSY MAN!”This week on Retro Grade Podcast, we talk about 1996's Space Jam, featuring Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes. We revisit this classic film in response to the recent release of Space Jam: A New Legacy. Having been conceived by a series of commercials featuring Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny, this Warner Bros. classic marked the beginning of a new era of digital filmmaking, combining 2D animation with live action actors in a green screen studio that had to be created entirely in computers from that time. It was NOT easy. From animating the Looney Tunes characters into the real world to adding Michael into the animated world, we dive deep into the animation process and talk about the movie's unsung heroes: the animators who brought this film to life. We talk about the reception of the film from critics, the box office figures both domestically and internationally, and the legacy the film has. We go into Michael Jordan's basketball career, what inspired him to take up baseball, and ultimately how the film incorporates these events into the narrative. Lastly, we go over the marketing of the film, from the tie in soundtrack featuring Seal, R Kelly, Quad City DJs, Coolio, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Method Man, B-Real, Salt N' Pepa, Monica, (and very young Jay-Z!) to the merchandising of the film and how that helped the film cement its place in cinema history. So everybody get up it's time to slam now, we got a real jam goin' down, welcome to the Space Jam episode of Retro Grade Podcast! Also, next week we are celebrating our ONE YEAR anniversary for a special episode: Retro Grade: Retrospective! A title entirely crafted by the creative genius of Jorge Montoya. We had the pleasure of interviewing iNTeLL over Zoom video! iNTeLL, mastermind behind 2ND GENERATION WU, son of Wu-Tang Clan's U-God, and carrier of the legendary hip hop collective's creative torch, ponders an important philosophical and theoretical question with producer DLP on his new album Computers For The Hood. The record aims to unite old-school with new school, featuring guest spots from hip-hop legends Method Man,  Del tha Funkee Homosapien, R.A. The Rugged Man, among others. The journey to Computers For The Hood was a long and arduous one for iNTeLL, as he was having creative burnout, in addition to ongoing stresses caused by the COVID pandemic. However, this road has led to the best work of his career so far. Computers For The Hood is a tight 11 track showcase of creative partner DLP's raw old school-influenced production that still has a modern flair perfect for 2021. The beatwork serves as the perfect canvas for iNTeLL to confidently lay down memorable bars, hooks, and stories that serve as a perfect homage to his home turf of Staten Island."A few years back, when I was still earning the respect of my peers, Young Dirty Bastard had reached out to me to appear with him for several shows. At one of the shows, I met my future wife Prema777 (who is featured on the track "Django Hardware") and at another, I met DLP," explains iNTeLL about the road that led him to Computers For The Hood."Shortly after that, DLP approached me about producing a collaboration record between myself and Young Dirty Bastard. I saw this as an opportunity to also include some of the other sons of Wu-Tang, so I reached out to a Method Man's son PXWER. We ended up laying down what would later become the track 'We Here Now.' At the beginning of 2021, DLP reached back out to me and wanted to record a possible EP together. However, I was at a point of exhaustion from creating and building the 2nd Generation WU brand in addition to being burnt out from 2020.""Suddenly though, an opportunity to work with Del tha Funkee Homosapien came up," iNTeLL recalls excitedly. "He is not only one of my lyrical mentors but one of the dopest emcees to exist, so I quickly signed on for that collab." Inspired by this initial pairing, he explored the possibility of gathering a veritable collection of features and collaborators that helped solidify Computers For The Hood."We ended up being able to secure verses from Method Man, Del, the Team Backpack champion Denzil Porter, Tahmell (son of Rakim), my second collaboration with Mickey Factz, Ruste Juxx, and the king of lyrical Horrorcore R.A. The Rugged Man. This little EP turned into a full-fledged studio album with notable features, incredible production and a message that resonates."Computers For The Hood by 2nd Generation WU's iNTeLL x DLP is out now! We want to hear from you!
