All the way from Auckland, New Zealand, we will hear from Gary Fawcett and Margaret Groot, two avid beekeepers that will kick off Cultivate Curiosity with an entire episode designated to learning all about honeybees and the art of tending to them -- beekeeping! It feels like there is so much to learn and do in this world, but we have a lot of time to squeeze in all the information we can in this lifetime. Remember, the whole point of this show - of every episode - is to plant the seed of curiosity and maybe, just maybe, you’ll cultivate that curiosity someday and you’ll let it grow. Is podcasting really any different than old media? Are we, as podcasters, simply falling into the mold created by media producers before us? Podcasting may be one of the few remaining truly free mediums. There are no rules, no gatekeepers, no censors, nothing telling you what you can and can't do with your show. So why does your podcast sound like all the rest or worse, like radio?;) This is a fun Roundtable in the spirit of the Roundtable's origins, podcasters sitting around on a group call discussing whatever comes to mind. We jump off from this topic of "breaking the mold" as it refers to content production styles and see where it goes. This Round features: +Ray Ortega, +Daniel J. Lewis, +Paul Blais, +Corey Fineran, and +Gary Fawcett. Circle Ray on Google Plus to be notified of future live recordings, to meet other podcasters and share your opinions in the chat! See ya at the next Round! Sign up to appear on a future Podcasters' Roundtable!
Gary Fawcett is an urban beekeeper and host of Kiwi Mana – a podcast dedicated to beekeeping – and a whole set of online beekeeping supplies and stories. The post 020 – Gary Fawcett – Bee keeping expert appeared first on Expert Empire.
Ever receive a negative comment regarding your podcast? How did it feel? How did you respond? Certainly, if you've been podcasting for any significant amount of time there's no doubt that indeed you've received a negative iTunes review, a "bad" comment on your website or a disparaging remark on your podcast's Facebook page. Perhaps it happened after your first episode! As podcasters we put our content and ourselves out into the world for anyone to see, hear and comment on. This inevitability means someone isn't going to like what you say, how you say it or misinterpret your meaning and share their dislike with the world. And in some cases they might be right. But how do you deal with it? On this Round, myself (Ray Ortega), +Daniel J. Lewis +David Jackson +Max Flight, +Robert Chazz Chute, +Erik Fisher, and +Gary Fawcett discuss the negative feedback we've received over our years of podcasting and what we did about it. And trust me, we didn't always make the right decision. How do you deal with negative comments about your podcast? Share your experiences below in the comments as you watch along.
