The dawn of a new era, the Dwayne Haskins era… unfortunately it started with the same results… despite Dwayne Haskins getting his first NFL Career Start, the Washington Redskins suffer yet another tough loss against the Buffalo Bills, bringing their season record to 1-8… the running game was working early on, and the defense, once again, kept it close; but the continued 3rd down struggles on both sides of the ball ultimately doomed this team... In Episode Twenty-One, I cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Redskins ninth regular season game of the 2019 season against the Buffalo Bills… I review the game overall, Adrian Peterson’s great start, the defense's continued strong play, despite the amount of injuries, the coaching staff and our abysmal record, and I take some time to look at what our coaches are bringing to the table and if any of them are viable candidates to be on this team next year… I take a deep dive into my thoughts on Dwayne Haskins and just how well he did in his first career start… I briefly touch on the trade deadline, and how despite everything we heard, it was much ado about nothing… I review our coaching staff and how this group is not utilizing these players to their fullest potential, how there is a very good chance that not one of these coaches is on this team next year and how it is absolutely ludicrous for Bill Callahan to not come out and hand the reigns over to Dwayne Haskins… At what point will this team realize where they are this season and allow the rookie QB to take over and continue to develop, at what point do Wins not matter if the future franchise quarterback is not progressing and developing into the player he needs to become… this front office needs to take a long hard look at who is coaching this team and what they are truly looking to accomplish with the rest of the 2019 season… and after a very long hiatus I return to ongoing saga that is “The Trent Williams Situation” with some significant news… I close the Podcast with my prediction for the upcoming week eleven game against the New York Jets (after our week 10 BYE)… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Nine Loss, to the Buffalo Bills… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR [#RedskinsTweetTeam‬] --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/offseasonchampions/message

“As a result of not smoking I’m now fitter and have more money. And that works just fine, until you see a picture of Berbatov or Özil or Socrates puffing away on a cigarette and looking like the coolest bastard in the world. Berbatov is not only cooler than me, but is also fitter and has more money. So what was the point of giving up?” In Episode Twenty One we feature ‘Literally on Fire’ by Jonathan Liew, looking at the complicated history of smoking and football. From collectable cigarette cards in the late 19th century to Dixie Dean and Stanley Matthews endorsing cigarette brands, to long-lens paparazzi snapping pictures of stars on holiday taking a puff on a cheeky fag, the relationship between sport and smoking has changed completely. Jonathan Liew writes about sport for the Daily Telegraph and is a former Young Sportswriter of the Year, as wistfully sepia-tinted as that sounds. Then it’s Cruz Control all the way with a look at the campaign of Republican Presidential hopeful and the other, OTHER Belushi brother, Senator Ted Cruz. In Movie Club, it’s time for Julia Stiles’ hair to make its triumphant return to Bring A Plate, this time in the 2001 teen hip hop melodrama ‘Save The Last Dance’. Plus: News Minute, Sports, a troubling flu jab story, fleshlights, acid reflux and the debut of an exciting Courtney Barnett impression.
