In a special episode of the Football Digest podcast, Mirror Football exclusive spoke with former Man Utd forward Dimitar Berbatov. Former Man Utd striker Berbatov believes the club must stick by Rasmus Hojlund rather than sign a new forward. Berbatov has watched on since Hojlund joined Man Utd in the summer from Atalanta for a fee approaching £70m. And while Man Utd are yet to see much of a return on their investment in Hojlund, Berbatov believes his former club must remain patient.

Ian Irving hosts The Athletic's podcast dedicated to Manchester United with regular panellists, club correspondent Laurie Whitwell and United We Stand Editor Andy Mitten. But, we did find a way to cheer ourselves up, with a visit from Bulgaria's silkiest striker Dimitar Berbatov. He will be back at Old Trafford for a legends' match against Liverpool in May to raise funds for the Manchester United Foundation.

The Last Word On Spurs celebrated it’s third birthday by welcoming Tottenham Hotspur legend Dimitar Berbatov to the show. The Bulgarian featured for Spurs between the period of 2006-2008, making 90 appearances and scoring 46 goals along with winning the League Cup with Spurs in 2008. A unique talent, Dimitar Berbatov simply oozed class. His languid style, flawless technique and temperament was never more illustrated than when he tucked home a penalty in the League Cup Final against Chelsea in 2008. Berba signed for us in 2006 and his impact was instant, firing home within seven minutes of his home debut. He returned to N17 most recently in March, 2019, playing his part in the second of two test events at our new stadium as our Legends took on Inter Forever, with the Bulgarian naturally finding the target with a fine looping header late in the second half. #THFC #COYS #TOTTENHAM #HOTSPUR #TOTTENHAMHOTSPUR #SPURS #LWOS #BERBATOV

“As a result of not smoking I’m now fitter and have more money. And that works just fine, until you see a picture of Berbatov or Özil or Socrates puffing away on a cigarette and looking like the coolest bastard in the world. Berbatov is not only cooler than me, but is also fitter and has more money. So what was the point of giving up?” In Episode Twenty One we feature ‘Literally on Fire’ by Jonathan Liew, looking at the complicated history of smoking and football. From collectable cigarette cards in the late 19th century to Dixie Dean and Stanley Matthews endorsing cigarette brands, to long-lens paparazzi snapping pictures of stars on holiday taking a puff on a cheeky fag, the relationship between sport and smoking has changed completely. Russ Goldman from Cottage Talk Podcast was our Fulham fan of choice to join us as we collectively conducted a candle lit vigil for the legendary Martin Jol after his recent sacking, although Fulham actually had the good grace to wait until the match had finished. Also on the agenda was their new boss René Meulensteen and reports on Tottenham rejects Berbatov, Parker, Bent and Taarabt. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Eddie Nestor and Drew Mann call the 25 man squad, ponder a full season of Rio (fat chance) and celebrate Rooney's first goal in 1,000 minutes on the World's most popular podcast for the World's most hated team. That's right, according to Facebook the public hate The Red Devils even more than those scousers! What a disgrace! (You can change that with a vote from our Facebook Group). Come on you Reds!
