In Episode Twenty-Two of Taking It Down, Blaine and Adam discuss a plethora of topics, starting with the new streaming service Quibi and why the hell it exists (3:14). They shift from that into something that's more likely worth your time: live and free music events online during the quarantine (6:11). The guys give a quick update on the Morrow Movie Marathon, and it's a sad one (12:30). Then it's an in-depth breakdown of HBO's boiling The Plot Against America and Episode Three (13:40). Before the break, they discuss why they'll be talking about the Netflix show Unorthodox next week (23:38). After the break, Blaine and Adam talk about the long-lasting MTV show The Challenge and its first episode of the thirty-fifth season (31:20)! Lastly, it's all about the FX/Hulu Devs Episode Six and where the show may be going in its final stretch (47:54).
A new low, even for this team… this Redskins team looked terrible, especially against an awful Jets team who beat them up for four quarters... The Washington Redskins suffer yet another ‘hard to watch’ brutal loss, this time to the New York Jets, bringing their season record to an abysmal 1-9… nothing seemed to go right for this team and they literally couldn’t get anything to work early on. Granted they were able to move the ball in the fourth quarter and finally break the 16 quarter touchdown deficit, it was all too little and too late… Although it is something to be positive about and something to build off of and hopefully a boost in Haskins confidence going into the back end of the season as our starter… In Episode Twenty-Two, I cover the good, the bad and the mostly ugly of the Redskins tenth regular season game of the 2019 season against the New York Jets… I review the game overall, Dwayne Haskins early struggles, how there is very little to be hopeful for on either side of the ball, the continued coaching staff woes and our abysmal record… I take a deep dive into the players on this team and how for the longest time I said that there is too much talent on the team for them to continue to play like this, and I’ve blamed coaching, but after this last game I am starting to question everything… coaching, scheming, front office, discipline and the players… I go off on a bit of a tirade about the organization as a whole, and how we aren’t close (at all)… how until we distance ourselves from Bruce Allen, nothing will change, and ultimately how this team needs a complete overhaul, from top down, if they ever want to be successful… I close the Podcast with my prediction for the upcoming week twelve game against the Detroit Lions (and take a brief look forward at the remainder of the season)… As always, enjoy my unsolicited and unrealistically optimistic opinions on all things Washington Redskins in this Episode covering the 2019 Week Eleven Loss, to the New York Jets… If you are enjoying the Podcast, please subscribe, leave a rating or review and tell a friend, it really helps to reach a wider audience and I would be very grateful… and if you don't already, please follow me on Twitter @HTTRChamps and as always, #HTTR --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/offseasonchampions/message

"Two days later the Australians were back at the Cong Hoa Stadium to face the hosts South Vietnam. The atmosphere was tense, the pitch surrounded by barbed wire, army snipers and soldiers armed with fixed bayonets." In Episode Twenty Two we look back to Davidde Corran's 'Tour of Duty' which details the unlikeliest of football tours as the Australian national team were parachuted into Saigon at the height of the Vietnam war to take part in an 8-team friendly tournament. Still 7 years before they would first qualify for a World Cup, the Socceroos nonetheless lifted their first continental trophy under the most difficult of circumstances. In Episode Twenty Two, live from the Logies red carpet, Peter and Bec take a look at television’s “interview of the year” and its aftermath, before excitedly rambling about the entries in Eurovision 2015. Then it’s all about GetUp’s campaign to highlight the “pink tax” – are you paying too much for your feminine calculator? And who will get a raise at the tampon factory – Peter or Bec? In Movie Club it’s the 1995 buddy cop action comedy ‘Bad Boys’ aka “the worst review we’ve ever done”. Plus: News Minute, Sports, Cosima’s nodes, the worst set dressing of a lesbian sitcom, Miss Dionne minds the gap and lots of humiliating begging for you to come to BRING A PLATE LIVE at The Wheeler Centre on June 1st.
