As a founding member of the ground breaking Bauhaus, multi-instrumentalist Daniel Ash has distinguished himself in the world of contemporary music. He later went on to form Tones on Tail and Love and Rockets. Bauhaus were an English rock band formed in Northampton in 1978. Known for their dark image and gloomy sound, they are one of the pioneers of gothic rock, although they mixed many genres, including dub, glam rock, psychedelia, and funk. Love and Rockets were formed in 1985 by former Bauhaus members Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins after that group split in 1983. Ash and Haskins had recorded and performed in another band, Tones on Tail, between 1982 and 1984.

Known to medical researchers since the 1980s, LADA is just now beginning to be known to the general public. KICKASS HEALTHY LADA: How to Thrive with Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (Hachette Go; 4/4/23; $13.99; ISBN: 9780306830747) is the first and only trade book on the market dedicated to treating the 3.4 million people diagnosed with LADA in the U.S., the millions that have been misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all, the 30 million with other forms of diabetes, and even the 88 million pre-diabetic Americans. Thoroughly researched, empathetic, and practical KICKASS HEALTHY LADA shares author Jacqueline Haskins's hard-earned expertise. Medically reviewed and vetted, this go-to guide provides critical information and insights, including:•A detailed breakdown of the different diabetes diagnoses•What makes LADA different and how to find the best treatment team•Insulin: what it is, what it does, and how to know if we need more of this natural hormone•Tools for good health with LADA, including food and nutrition advice•Introducing Carb-Craft: how to safely enjoy the foods you loveOriginally misdiagnosed, Haskins visited five doctors before getting helpful guidance. Lacking a supportive and authoritative guide, Haskins spent months educating herself by scouring medical publications to weave together an understanding of LADA to take charge of her life and learn to thrive with this chronic, life-threatening, yet conquerable disease. Bringing compassion, humor, and hope to people with LADA and their loved ones from a patient's point of view, Haskins builds a solid biology-based understanding, lays out clear strategies, and addresses the social and psychological aspects of living with LADA. Through this essential toolkit, empowers the general public, newly-diagnosed, and long-diagnosed seeking support. The first book for the general public on LADA (Latent Auto-immune Diabetes in Adults) aka Diabetes 1.5, Kickass Healthy LADA offers the most up to date (and little known) information, with practical strategies and tips for healthy living. If you are one of the millions of Americans with Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA), you may not even know it. You may be one of the ten percent of people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes who actually have LADA. Even if you do know that you have LADA, sometimes called "diabetes 1.5," you're likely to be inundated with unhelpful advice and potentially harmful treatments, leaving you feeling confused and overwhelmed. That was Jacqueline Haskins' experience. After visiting five doctors before getting helpful guidance, and realizing there wasn't a friendly "how-to" book meant for the general public about LADA—she decided to write one.Thoroughly researched, empathetic, and practical, Kickass Healthy LADA shares Haskins's hard-earned expertise. Medically reviewed and vetted, this go-to guide provides critical information and insights, including:Readers will discover:•A clear and simple science-based guide on good health for a wide audience. •There are more types of diabetes than most realize. KICKASS HEALTHY LADA explains how to know if there has been a misdiagnosis, and why this matters.•People living with diabetes can reduce risks, symptoms, and be as healthy as any other person: depending on the type of diabetes they have, how early it is caught, and how hard they work at it. Well-controlled diabetes is the leading cause of nothing. •Many common beliefs about diabetes do not apply to LADA.•Opportunities to change economic and racial inequalities in diabetes health.
In this episode, Andrea Haskins joins me to chat about how separation-based parenting tactics and our culture's obsession with babies being independence negatively impacts our breastfeeding experience and parenting experience. Andrea Haskins is a mom of two and breastfeeding peer counselor and lactation counselor (certified with Childbirth International) with a focus on mother-baby-led intuitive parenting. She believes parents have been led astray by the modern medical-industrial system and the multitude of opinions and information available and have dampened the ability to mother biologically and instinctually. She wants to encourage mothers to take back that instinctual power in order to be less dependent on the systems that took away their authority. Find Andrea at her instagram account. Day talks about coaching Haskins, about the quarterback's greatest strengths, and about how he should be remembered as part of Ohio State history. Also discussed is the spring quarterback battle in 2018 between Haskins and Joe Burrow five years ago,. Then it's on to audio clips from Haskins' career, as the quarterback in 2018 talks about his decision to come to Ohio State, that spring battle, and settling in as the starter. Catherine Haskins has spent much of her career behind the scenes in veterinary medicine, and now that she's stepping out front, she's got a lot to say! Hosts Dr. Ernie Ward and Beckie Mossor, RVT, share the mic with Catherine Haskins of The Bridge Club. In her words, The Bridge Club “is a critical conversation company initiating meaningful conversations to elevate veterinary medicine. We strongly believe thoughtful discussions lead to realistic outcomes of the issues and topics affecting the veterinary profession. Our mission is to connect, engage and grow veterinary medicine and the services provided.” In addition to sharing Catherine's story, we revisit the relationship between veterinary professionals such as groomers, trainers, dog walkers, etc. We first covered this way back in August 2017. You may want to check out that episode (and a couple of others) for our advice on building relationships with pet paraprofessionals in your community - and why it's essential! Catherine and The Bridge Club will address that topic on April 19, 2023, and we recommend that you tune in. As always, those broadcasts are FREE (just like this podcast!). Richard Werner, Economics Professor and Author of "Princes of the Yen," and Michelle Makori, Editor-in-Chief and Lead Anchor at Kitco News, discuss the Federal Reserve's FedNow instant payments system, and whether it will be used to usher in Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), digital tokens issued and controlled by central banks. Werner explains what CBDCs are, and warns that they will be used to bring about 'totalitarian' control and a surveillance economy. He also proposes that the recent banking crisis and consolidation of banks could be used as an excuse to bring about CBDCs, and suggests political solutions that might prevent CBDCs from being implemented. Slam the Gavel welcomes back Marineka Bowman to the podcast for an update on her case. Marineka was last on the podcast, Season 3, Episodes 104, 131, 159, 160, 174 and 184 as well as Season 4, Episode 22. The last time she was on we discussed the UNJUST decisions of Judge Natalie Haskins and GAL. Apparently they don't care about the effects this is having on her DAUGHTER. Marineka discussed Black History Month and the works of Thurgood Marshall. How he was a Civil Rights Attorney and how hard he FOUGHT to even get into law school to pave the way for other attorneys as well. Thurgood Marshall FOUGHT for EQUALITY for himself and others, families, the voiceless and discriminated against. However, he would be more than disheartened to know how judges and attorneys are behaving in Family Court to fit, loving parents as they rip their children away from them and do not look at evidence ESPECIALLY when photo's of abuse are shared to parties on THE FAMILY WIZARD. Especially in Marineka's case, the GAL, opposing attorney Laura Brooks and Judge Natalie Haskins. They are demanding Marineka do a psychological evaluation with a DFS Supervisor WHO DOESN'T HAVE A PH.D so they can keep the false narrative going of Marineka being mentally ill. Now it continues that her daughter is constantly being picked up late from daycare, is being held upside down and hit by the father's 17 year old son and they both continue to shave her daughter's head even for her pre-school picture. Somehow the Judge Haskins DOESN'T CARE about how this is affecting the child physically, emotionally and her self esteem. We talked about lawyers not acting in their capacity, such as Guardian Ad Litems as well as DFS. Marineka talked about a strange phone call that reached this podcast wondering where Marineka was. The harassment still continues. Please join us again for another update in the future with Marineka Bowman. To Reach Marineka Bowman: dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.comSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)https://www.buzzsprout.com/1364944/subscribedismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.comSupport the showSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/

I dig into my interview backlog archive from April 2019 at F8 (a month before the Quest launch) to publish this conversation with Sonya Haskins, who shares her journey into VR through eSports and the Echo VR community. Haskins is a writer who published a couple of guest editorials on UploadVR starting in 2017 about how VR changed her perspective on gaming, and then a recent piece titled "Echo VR's Loss Reverberates In Reality" reacting to the shut down announcement on the previous day. On January 31, Ready at Dawn announced that "after many discussions internally and with our partners at Meta, we have made the difficult decision to shut down Echo VR." Meta CTO Andrew "Boz" Bosworth explained in an Instagram AMA on February 2nd that "The user base is small. It's loyal as all get-out, but it's small. It's measured in the low 10 thousands. And unfortunately keeping things alive takes work. This is not like a return on investment money standpoint, it's just those resources could be put to other uses that I think will be useful to the now tens of millions of people who are in VR." Even though John Carmack is no long a consulting CTO for Meta, Carmack still shared some in-depth thoughts with UploadVR saying, "Even if there are only ten thousand active users, destroying that user value should be avoided if possible. Your company suffers more harm when you take away something dear to a user than you gain in benefit by providing something equally valuable to them or others. User value is my number one talking point by far, but “focus” is pretty high up there as well, and opportunity cost is a real thing." I wanted to share this archival interview that I did with Haskins in 2019 since she talks about her journey into VR through Echo VR (originally titled Echo Arena, but rebranded in 2018), reflects on what VR and eSports has meant to her, especially as she's gone on over the past 3+ years to work within the XR industry as a key community organizer and she's currently the Head of Programming for the Augmented World Expo. And the community of Echo VR players have a number of campaigns ongoing in their attempts to #SaveEchoVR. This is a listener-supported podcast through the Voices of VR Patreon. Music: Fatality

The last time she was on we discussed her daughter singing to her mother and the effects Judges and Attorneys are having on her child. Marineka discussed her faith and how advocacy has chosen her as she held her daughter's dolls and said she will be holding them until her daughter returns to her care. She also talked about the element of FORGIVENESS and how she is forgiving, so she herself can HEAL, but even though she has forgiven the opposing attorney Laura Brooks and Judge Natalie Haskins, they still have to answer to God for their mistakes. Also, Marineka explains why she wants this issue kept in the spotlight. This is to explain why and how her daughter was ripped away from her and how Alienation is being perpetuated by the father as he will not allow telephone calls with her daughter as well as Judge Haskins not filing her orders and Laura Brooks going along with it. The court continues to call Mother "crazy." This is commonplace in most courtrooms across the country, if not globally. Marineka brought up that she thinks the judges should be RE-TRAINED and LOOK at the EVIDENCE before removing a child from the loving, fit parent. Now her daughter is constantly picked up late from daycare, is being held upside down and hit by the father's 17 year old son and they both continue to shave her daughter's head. Somehow the Judge Haskins DOESN'T CARE about how this is affecting the child physically, emotionally and self esteem. We talked about lawyers not acting in their capacity, such as Guardian Ad Litems. The best advice Marineka also gave was to not get the same phone plans with your partner because if there is a break up, they can cause all sorts of problems with the cell phone....MORE to come....To Reach Marineka Bowman: startpositive2019@yahoo.comSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.comSupport the showSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/

Slam the Gavel welcomes back Marineka Bowman to the podcast for an update on her case. Marineka was last on the podcast, Season 3, Episodes 104, 131, 159, 160 and 174. The last time she was on we discussed what took place during an Emergency Ex parte Motion on Monday, December 5th, 2022. Marineka was reached via telephonic conference and the opposing attorney Laura Brooks and Judge Natalie Haskins was worried and concerned that Marineka was, "disparaging the court, herself, the father and the child due to being on podcasts and this will affect the child psychologically." Marineka is concerned for her daughter and as well she should be. A video recording of her daughter singing to her mother is something everyone should hear. It almost takes a sinister undertone when her daughter sings, "if I am gone, wherever I will be, God will protect you..." Child Psychological Abuse is very prevalent in this case and both the Judge and opposing Counsel are proceeding on to give the Father more time even though he had taken off when the child was two-months old. Is this in the "Best Interest of the Child?"To Reach Marineka Bowman: startpositive2019@yahoo.comSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com Support the showSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)http://beentheregotout.com/http://www.dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com/

Full Hour | In today's third hour, Dom welcomes Helen Raleigh, Senior Contributor at the Federalist and author of ‘Confucious Never Said' and ‘Backlash: How China's Aggression Has Backfired,' to talk about protests breaking out across China. First, Giordano asks Raleigh, who escaped Communist China as a child, what she hopes come of the protest, admitting that she believes Xi to be too strong to resign, but telling that she hopes this at least ends the ‘zero COVID' policy. Then, Raleigh takes us inside her childhood, telling a story of the food rationing in the communist country and a time the government tried forcing the family to pay back for a mistake the government themselves made. After that, Giordano asks for Raleigh's opinion on companies like Apple who relentlessly continue to operate in China, with Helen telling that she believes their relationship is starting to hurt the bottom line of corporations, which should naturally cause them to shift away from their Chinese support. Then, after playing Dom's Money Melody, Dom swings over to a financial topic, telling of a great op-ed he read on FoxNews.com written by Justin Haskins that offers up ways to protect your 401k from ‘going woke.' In the piece, Haskins tells that many employer-ran 401k accounts could soon automatically put contributions into woke funds, writing in detail of the infusion of politics into the world of finance. Then, Dom revisits a couple topics talked about throughout the show, first returning to the debate he shared with Producer Dan Borowski over the benefits of real versus artificial Christmas trees. Then, Dom revisits a topic first brought up during last hour's Dan Time with Dom, offering his opinion on the decision by New York City Mayor Eric Adams to start arresting and committing mentally ill people against their will. Slam the Gavel welcomes new guest, Marineka Bowman last on the podcast Season #3, Episode #104. Nick Giles is on the podcast accompanying her. On this update, Marineka tells viewers that a psychologist that is making breeches in confidentiality, is seeing only her daughter without Marineka or her father involved. The psychologist then reports back to the father and his attorney that the child has no interest in seeing her mother. Marineka knows she can't get a 'fair shake' in this Kangaroo Court with Judge Natalie Haskins as Haskins has a long track record for handling Marineka's divorce and all courtroom appearances. Nick Giles read off Marineka's last motion and response to the court which proved to be very interesting. Marineka is questioning the court's vindictiveness toward her and the relationship she has had with her daughter.BACKGROUND: Marineka is a wonderful Mother of a five year old daughter. Mother explained that her ex-husband left the house when their daughter was only two months old. However, she did not go to the courts looking for child support as she tried to work it out with him. There was barely a response. Now, when her daughter was a happy three year old, the father came back into their lives and went before the courts saying that he wanted to only see his daughter two hours a week. Judge Natalie Haskins made a comment that, 'it would make it harder for you in the future to get full custody if you do this.' But there really was no problem in obtaining custody for the father. At present time, the Father has complete custody and when Marineka does see her daughter on a scheduled basis, her child's head is shaved as we'll as an eyebrow. There are alleged reports on child sexual abuse that have gone unnoticed from DFS (CPS). The school system is doing nothing to help her, even though they are mandated reporters.
