Joel received a Master's in ethnomusicology but dropped out of the Ph.D. program to sign a record deal with Universal/True North Records. He spent ten years traveling the world as an award-winning singer-songwriter. Still, he felt called to get a second Master's in music-centered psychotherapy and eventually trained as a Jungian analyst in Switzerland. A graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute Zürich, he joins us to discuss his new book, Jungian Music Psychotherapy: When Psyche Sings.

Joel Kroeker started as an Evangelical Christian who wanted nothing more than a wife and a career in a Christian rock band. He ended up as a baker who's not even sure he's a Christian anymore. He got the wife, though!
