As we approach the Summer Solstice, the boys are delving into an album that revels in the warmth as well as occasional iciness, Sóley's 2015 album "Ask the Deep". A personal favorite of Christopher's, they discuss the album as well as alien abductions in New Hampshire, Crime Animals, Bring Backs, a love of Jimmy Stewart, and all of the ways you can die in a recording studio. John Greene (Fifth Business, Nickelbackin') joins in.

Alt. rock supergroup Zwan was formed after the collapse of frontman Billy Corgan's other great success: the legendary 90s band Smashing Pumpkins. With members of Chavez, A Perfect Circle, and Slint backing him up, and an intense love for Jesus in his core, Corgan and Zwan released 2003's Mary Star Of The Sea to great critical review, (But commercial disdain from fans) only to break up the same year, and Corgan to regularly slander and dismiss his Zwan bandmates in later interviews. This month on Jukebox Zeroes, Lee and Patrick dive headfirst into this uncomfortably blissful, fuzz-rock love-in to decide for themselves whether the album holds up, and just what the heck is Billy's deal anyway. Abram Taber of sister podcast Nickelbackin', and of Philadelphia rockers Sun Hat joins the goodboix, through an auditory journey filled with flanger pedals, mediocrity, goblins, and the miracle of Santa Corgan. This Month's Local Artist Feature: Inspector 34 - "Introspection"

What began as an attempt at recording an episode of Nickelbackin' turned into chaotic mess of cross-promotional proportions. In this one-off(?) bonus episode: the cross-over of a lifetime, we assume! Old Nickel Zeroes brings together hosts Christopher Brown (Nickelbackin' / Old Men Yell At Cloud), Abram Taber (Nickelbackin'), and Lee Martin (Jukebox Zeroes) to take on what for the longest time was the musical equivalent of vaporware: Guns N' Roses' 2008 comeback-ish album Chinese Democracy. Join them as they discuss all the key topics of GnR, including newspaper comic strip Dilbert, Nicolas Cage, pie charts, oil drums, and even the album itself!

We're gonna be straight with you. John bailed last minute due to an illness. However, our scheduled guest Lee Martin was almost at Christopher's house. So we did this, a backdoor pilot slash cross-promotional combine the efforts of not only Abram and Christopher of Nickelbackin', but Jukebox Zeroes (featuring Lee), and Old Men Yell At Cloud (Christopher's other podcast)!  We did manage to get off topic a good amount, and we did even sneak in a little update about a certain group of friends of ours from the north.

In our first foray into having multiple guests, things got weird. Jim kept asking guest Abram Taber (he of Nickelbackin' and Sun Hat fame) about Dumpster Diving, guest Richard Surette (Guitar builder extraordinaire, member of Knock Over City and Kyklops) kept shutting down and refusing to participate, and Patrick wanted to insult Christopher's favorite song. No big deal. We listened to Spiderland.

Welcome to the debut episode of Nickelbackin', the podcast where three scamps hailing from the Boston-area (one of whom has since absconded to Philadelphia) discuss things that are perhaps unfairly hated or loved by the masses. For this inaugural episode, the focus is on Nickelback, and boy how did we underestimate how much we had to say about those lads from the Great White North. Recorded in October, but John's parting words proved prescient. Stay tuned for more episodes (hopefully) soon! Our theme song is "Blush" by Calvinball. Calvinball is sadly defunct but check out songwriter Patrick S. Barry's new work at https://gramlins.bandcamp.com/ !
