This week we are joined by expert outfitter Grant Kuypers of Buck Paradise in Saskatchewan Canada. We've all dreamed about hunting the big bodied, heavy horned whitetails that are produced in the Great White North. From long quiet days on the stand, hearing wolves howl, to enduring freezing temperatures and finally seeing a buck larger than you have ever imagined, Canada consistently produces giants. Why? How? What could we learn? How and when do they hunt? How can these deer survive the harsh winters? Grant explains it all. Listen, Learn and Enjoy. Send a text message to the show! Happy (almost) New Year you hosers! This time out we honor two true Canadian icons -- Bob and Doug -- the McKenzie Brothers! OK, it's Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas from the classic SCTV late night show, but boy did their characters "take off" in the early 1980s. Originally devised as a bit to meet "Canadian content" requirements, The Great White North was nothing more than Bob and Doug sitting on a cheesy set, drinking Molson and smoking cigarettes, and riffing on all things Canadian. Moranis and Thomas originally viewed the bit as a protest of the Canadian content rules, but audiences went nuts for the duo and Bob and Doug in short order produced over 40 segments for SCTV as well as a feature movie (Strange Brew) and two comedy albums. Moranis and Thomas have reprised the roles on occasion, but not for a number of years. Maybe we could bribe them with a "jelly" for one more revival! As always, find extra clips below and thanks for sharing our shows! Want more Bob and Doug At the height of Bob and Doug mania the boys appeared on David Letterman, first in character than as themselves in a fine interview. https://youtu.be/u3niShPaKFY?si=tfeDNcmpv6h69lBd Strange Brew has become a cult classic over the years with lots of Canadian in-jokes, none more prominent than their love of donuts. Try this trick the next time you need some info. https://youtu.be/tKFgfdtKdys?si=H4vxlj1yGaTENtxJ Bob and Doug returned for a Canadian tv special on the 24th anniversary of Strange Brew. Geddy Lee from Rush -- who sang with them on their 1981 hit single "Take Off" -- was there to pay respects. https://youtu.be/N5twcRZ5Bi8?si=FFPGI9ISE_Ds25B4&t=1809

The Lakers started out on their first road trip in December by heading to the Great White North, where they faced off against the Raptors. And with Luka taking the day off to celebrate the birth of his second child, the Lakers fought off the pesky Raptors as Austin Reaves scored 22 of his 44 points in the fourth quarter, and despite LeBron James failing to score in double digits for the first time in 1,297 games as he made the crucial assist to Rui Hachimura who made a game-ending three to give the Lakers the shocking 123-120 victory. Tune in as the guys get you up to speed on this exciting victory, why Austin Reaves (44 points, 10 assists) always seems to take advantage of Luka's absence, why LeBron James' (8 points, 11 assists) streak ending might be a good thing, and why they got a much-needed lift from the bench with Jake LaRavia (14) and Nick Smith Jr. (12). De Ridder was supposed to take on Anthony Hernandez in a functional title eliminator, but now that he's out, will a win over Allen get RDR the same opportunity? No Bets Barred is here to break it all down. This week, host Jed Meshew flies solo, taking a look at all things UFC Vancouver. Topics discussed include RDR's chances to keep his run alive and maybe sneak into a title shot, whether Kevin Holland is on the decline and if Mike Malott can take advantage, Jasmine Jasudavicius and her shot at upsetting Manon Fiorot, the return of Chito Vera, the next step of The Climb, and more. The Gents take off to the Great White North and cover a class ic from our youth, Strange Brew, featuring the great Doug & Bob McKenzie. It's a beauty, eh?
We're doing a good ol' fashioned deep dive on the man from the Great White North who made Hollywood his second city and blew up the box office! We go through Rick's early life, his meteoric rise and his powerful decision to walk away from it all, proving he was the goodhearted nerd we always cheered for. If it ever comes out that he's actually a terrible person we will have to immediately take this episode down because we shower him with praise as both a performer and a man. But I don't think he will, because he's Rick Moranis, the littlest giant of the silver screen.Want even more Nerd of Mouth? This week the podcast is invaded from the Great White North by Mr. Matt Ehret to assist Dexter and myself to understand the depth of the perfidy that is the place known as the country of Canadia. Subtitled: A Story of the Three River Country. James Kent has learned that he is terminally ill with perhaps only days to live, and so decides to confess to a murder and thus save an innocent man. Nobody believes his confession, particularly Marette, a mysterious girl who had shown up at Athabasca Landing only weeks before. Kent's illness takes a turn and his death is postponed, and he sets about to find out more about the girl, who he ends up falling in love with, although she'll not reveal her past to him, nor what she knows about the murder. A story of intrigue, suspense, action, and above all, a story of love in the furthest outreaches of the Great White North where three great rivers flow; the Athabasca, the Slave, and the McKenzie, and where somewhere is hidden The Valley of Silent Men.

All the way from Canada, Henry Sir joins the pod alongside returning guest Tucker Brookshire. Together, they're two of the coldest white boys Drago knows. The boys jump right in, asking Henry what the culture is like up in the Great White North, and the conversation quickly turns to talk about cigarettes and Zyn – including a story of Alex going home with a woman who pulled out Zyn on their walk home together. Tucker is working to de-optimize his life and taking on the idea of not strangling the goose. The boys talk about whether or not a civil war is looming in America. And the boys answer listener questions, including: What's your go-to road trip snack, and what movie or series would you win trivia about? Trump invokes the Home Rule Act of 1973 to clean up the nation's crime-ridden capital, temporarily wresting control of the DC Metropolitan Police from local authorities. He's fed up with the crooks in DC, though what to do with the ones in Congress is anybody's guess. Meanwhile in Canada, medically assisted suicide has spiraled out of control just as its critics said it would, becoming a major driver of demographic change and underscoring a culture of despair. This week, the guys are joined by Andrew Beck to discuss troubles in DC and the Great White North, as well as the uncovering of now-Senator Adam Schiff's authorization for a baseless 2017 Russiagate intel leak aimed at dragging Trump's reputation.
